Easter, prelude: A sunny day out in County Durham.
I took a weekend off for a bit of much-needed leisure before launching into work again. The sun has at last graced England with its presence and I had to make the most of it.
Auckland Castle was beautiful, and wonderfully restored. Greatly interesting to learn about its history as well as that of its many bishops.

Studying is hard work, but it's all worth it when you finally get the grades you deserve.
19.03.2024—trying to get back into some study routines
a couple of pics from the last weeks :) honestly uni is kinda exhausting rn. i've been working on my ba thesis every single day since the beginning of the year and while i do make progress and i don't doubt that i'll pass, i really need a break. and i could take a break! if it weren't for the horrors (overwhelming perfectionism). well, at least my topic is fun 👍🏼
life lately is filled with lots of studying via practice questions and breaks filled with books and crafts and baking! i currently have a pleasant board exam study schedule that consists of a nice slow morning with a matcha latte and some reading, completing 160 practice questions, then relaxing the rest of the evening with the usual hobbies like reading, crocheting and knitting, cross-stitching, etc. recently i’ve read the idiot by elif batuman, berlin by bea setton, and now i’m reading either/or (sequel to the idiot) by myself and the thursday murder club by richard osman with my boyfriend. overall having a much better time studying for step 2 than for step 1!
i’m baking nonstop but the cake pictured is a vegan cardamom cocoa with star design inspired by earlygirl__ on twitter

five recipes for an exciting life (in my opinion)
- spending enough time creating things with your hands (baking, drawing, scrapbooking, doodling, crocheting, journaling and so on)
- keeping track of things like pretty skies, milestones, happy memories, appointments you're looking forward to
- listening to music that genuinely makes you feel happy and energetic
- making a habit of reaching out to people in a way that's comfortable to you (i send my dad songs he might like, my friend sends me monthly life updates)
- being kind to all your five senses → like investing in a scented candle or essential oil dispenser or body mist, having a soft blanket or socks (or a soft animal to pet), listening to birdsong or the rain, looking at the sky more often, and having your favorite foods enough times
