Remembrance II Clarke & Dylan

The end of the school week arrived slowly. Clarke was exhausted and all she wanted to do was return to her dorm so she could rest for a while. She had spent a bit of time after school practicing and messing around in archery, something she hadn’t had a lot of time to do outside of classes. Finally she was on the way back to her room for the day and planned on a taking a nap that would hopefully ease her fatigue, then maybe she could go find something to do when it got late.

She was never able to do well under stress. In fact, it was one of her weaknesses. The phoenix sighed heavily, not really minding anyone else around her as they passed. She was typically quite the opposite during this time of the week and part of her wanted to be, so she tried to fight it off. With a yawn, it made her a bit more alert as she approached the dorm. All she had to do was make the walk to her room so she sped up her pace. Clarke entered the building and a burst of cold air welcomed her, but as she made her way up the first staircase and into her hallway, she turned the corner and knocked right into somebody with a loud gasp. She stumbled back and stood back up to recollect herself before she fixed her hair, looking up to see that it was Dylan. She was rather confused but glad to see him. “Man...I didn’t even see you there. Sorry.” She flashed a smile then tilted her head to the side, her expression changing as her eyebrows pulled together. “What are you doing over here?”

As the pair made their way through the town, he tugged the straps of his back pack a little tighter onto his shoulders. Without the annoyance of the bag bouncing against his back, he was able to walk a bit more freely. “You are right!” he said with delight.  “That does sound like the best option.”  He hummed softly, removing his hands from his backpack straps and into his jeans’ pockets.  “This town is so interesting, it just seems like its the largest gathering other than school of people like us.”
He had grown, over the little time he attended the shcool, conscious of his own deeply analytical nature. He didn’t want to sound as if he were using his classmates as test subjects. He bit his lip and then started again with a slightly more open way of speaking. “Well, I mean, it will be nice to meet people who are so similar to us.” he said, “People who are not going to ask odd questions. It’s also really nice to get out, you know?”

Clarke noticed him adjusting the straps of his bag and was thankful that she had taken hers back to her room. For her, it was easier to not have any extra weight while she was out exploring. In case she decided to ignite her powers, it would be well out of the way and still in one piece by the time she got back. She didn’t feel like carrying her books back in a pile of ashes. The phoenix walked with her hands comfortably at her sides then nodded. “I have good ideas at times,” she said, “It is kind of interesting though. and it’s gonna be even more interesting when we find it.”

Near the area they were in, there sat another large rock before that caught her eye. “It will be nice to meet people who might understand what we are and accept it better.” The girl suddenly darted toward the rock. “I like getting out though, it’s fun!” Excitedly, she began to climb, but her foot slipped and she gasped loudly. This only added to her clumsy tendencies. She wasted no time in reaching the top, staying crouched down before she took the chance of standing up. “Let’s see...which way should we go?” she questioned, observing the view in front of her carefully.

“Ah. See, archery is one of my favorite things in general. It was one of the first, well, ‘skills’ I learned while my father trained me. I’m pretty excited for it. Wanna go against me sometime?” she offered, arching a brow with a slight smirk. “I’ve heard the name, saw it on my schedule. Is he nice? Or is he pretty strict? I can handle strict teachers…doesn’t mean I like them though. I do have some things to do though, plus, it just seems easier letting everything be new all at once.”

“I’m the same, I like archery too and yes! that would be lovely.” She agreed to Clarke’s offering with a nod and another bright smile, quite excited to learn new techniques and how to further improve her skills with a new opponent. “Other students say he’s pretty tough but he’s all okay to me. In fact, I like his teaching strategy even though at certain times I can’t look at him in the eyes.” That made the pixie slightly shook her head. “Overall, I find him quite effective. And say, I like how easy-going you seemed to be and also, I like your smile.”

“Sweet. Let’s see if you can beat me.” When she knew how to do something well, she tended to be a bit too proud of it and it showed, but nonetheless she would enjoy having someone to practice with. “Hmm, well, I’ll have to see how I like him then. I think I can handle him.” Clarke looked at the girl and raised an eyebrow. “Are you talking about me? Well, thanks I suppose. That’s nice of you to say.”

" Hey sorry but could you hand me that notebook, I left it here."

“Oh, sure I guess.” Clarke picked up the notebook and handed it over. “Here.”

Adventures In Town ||  Clarke & Taeyong || Closed

@clarke-ia

Taeyong bounced on the heels of his feet, humming softly. He was waiting close to the edge of the school’s entrance for a new friend that he had made recently. He had put out an open invitation to people in his dorm to explore the local area.  The Naum had spoken briefly with his new friend and they had agreed on two o’clock, in front of the school.  He had spent a lot of time exploring every new place he had lived, but this was going to be a whole new experience.

The town was one he had never even heard of in all his years on earth.  Perhaps it was like Hogshead, a magical village, hidden to the rest of the world.  The Naum snorted at the thought, before glancing around looking for a place to sit.  He glanced at his phone, realizing vaguely that he was quite a bit too early, and that it was quite a bit too hot out.  He shifted his way towards a large rock set at the gates.  It seemed a good enough place to sit for the time being.

Taeyong climbed up towards a smoother section of the rock, easy to sit on. Here he settled own, pulling his knees up to his chest, hugging them.  It was nice out, in spite of the heat, and He enjoyed the feeling of the sun on his normally cool skin.  The Naum had about five minutes before he expected Clarke to arrive, but after only two, he noted a figure emerging in the distance from the school ground.

Clarke had stopped by her room to throw down her bookbag and other belongings before she had to leave again. She was meeting a new friend near the school so they could explore the area some more, and while it was getting closer to two o'clock by the minute, she figured she would go ahead and arrive a bit earlier. After all, she wanted all the time she could get to venture off somewhere. The land was quite large to begin with and it had already amazed her with what was there and she couldn’t imagine what else there could be. Grabbing her charged phone out of her bag, she stuffed it in her pocket and left the dorm to head back to the school grounds.

She’d heard talk of a nearby village but never of anything that was there. It had to be interesting, to say the least. After all, their world was filled with magic and creatures from every realm, so she couldn’t exactly say it would be a surprise. The air outside was humid and hot as she walked to where she needed to go, but it felt like heaven to her. As others complained and fled for shade she showed no disinterest toward it; this weather never bothered her. After a decent walk from her dorm across campus, she finally reached the school.

There was a large rock that sat next to the front gates of the academy. Clarke filed closer to the entrance and as she did, she noticed a familiar figure sitting on top of the stone and she pulled her eyebrows together, hoping it was Taeyong. And it was. The redhead grinned and jogged her way over to him. “Hey, Taeyong!” she exclaimed, approaching the rock. Staring up at him, she tilted her head to the side. “Having fun up there?”

It was her! Came his nonverbal conclusion. He realeased his knees and stretched his thin legs out a little bit. A small noise of stretching came from his lips. She swiftly approached the rock and spoke to him. A bright smile crossed his lips. “Yup!” he replied, rocking to his feet. “It is so nice out, I had to get closer to the sun.” With tentative movements, he scrambled to the ground, coming to a halt in front of the young woman. “Sorry, I have a habit to head to higher ground at every chance I get. Maybe its my alien instinct.” A small chuckle made his eyes crinkle.

He grasped the straps of his pack and glanced out in the general direction of the entrance. “Well, I guess we should head out huh?” He turned on his heel, padding, with his usual blind confidence foward. “Where would you like to try first?” He had done a thorough study of the village before he had even invited anyone out. He was determined to know as much as he could discover about the area as he could. That did not mean, however, that the extraterrestrial didn’t want to try new things. “Do you know much about the village?”

The Phoenix waited for the other to climb down from his perch on top of the rock and watched as he proceeded to do so. She was rather excited about venturing off to this new place, as the entire area was brand new to her. She nodded and looked up into the sky, looking around for a moment. “It is nice,” she agreed, “This kind of weather is my favorite, it’s almost the only weather I can enjoy.” She had to chuckle at the statement but it was true. If it was too cold or had too much rain she would avoid it at all costs. But for now, she decided to not worry about that.

“We should,” she said with a nod. The girl suddenly started to take off toward the direction they were heading before turning around to face him. “Hmm...I think...we need to go backwards, you know, start from the end of the village and make our way to the front.” Perhaps it would make it more interesting, she thought, but it never hurt to try. After all, she was one to sneak around new places. Clarke tapped her foot and sighed, shaking her head. “I, for one, do not. I know nothing about this place. But who’s to say we can’t find out as much as we can?”

“You’re taking Archery?” she asked with a grin. “Oh sweet. That’s cool, can’t say I’m too bad with a bow and arrow either.” The girl let out a chuckle, happy that she had met someone enrolled in one of her classes. It took some of the weight off of her shoulders. “I haven’t, actually. None of mine anyway, I prefer waiting until class to do that along with everything else.”

“Uh-huh. For quite some time now, Clarke. I love the class and I’m not planning to drop it unless they’d stop offering and I may need to take classes somewhere else,” she replied. “By the way, the name of our archery instructor is Mr. Asagi. He had been teaching the class for about… I guess a month now? or actually longer but he’s great. I think I did the same when I first got here. I was more… relaxed I guess?” That made her smile.  “Because I had other priorities to attend to, which included unpacking.”

“Ah. See, archery is one of my favorite things in general. It was one of the first, well, ‘skills’ I learned while my father trained me. I’m pretty excited for it. “I’m taking Psychology, Music Appreciation, Archery, French, Korean I, Human and Earth History…” Clarke pursed her lips in thought as she looked down and tapped her foot. She was prone to being forgetful, which embarrassed her slightly but she shrugged it off. Once she remembered, she pointed at the air and looked up again. “And Math II and Sociology,” the girl finished, placing a hand on her hip. “Taking any of those?

“Let’s meet in the archery class,” Zoe smiled excitedly, not hiding the apparent cheerfulness to meet another new classmate in her favorite class. “I’m taking some others but none of the following subjects you are taking except archery. Have you meet your teachers? Or you prefer waiting until class?”

“Yes! Yes I am! Oh thank god it is nice to meet you! At least I won’t bethe only one running around looking like a fool who as no clue where to go,” hereplied with a relieved smirk on his face. Though it were all assumptions, maybe she knew perfectly fine where to go. But Dylan preferred this thought. “Clarke, nice to meet you! I’m Dylan,”

Carter let out a small laugh and shook her head. “Oh please, lead the way.” As they began to wander around, she walked next to him so it was easier to converse. She nodded. “Yeah, I know what you mean. Maybe walking together will make it seem like we’re going to the same place, which is…anywhere.” The handshake lasted a few moments but he appeared hesitant and she noticed, so she decided to confront him about it. “I’m not gonna hurt you,” she chuckled, pulling her hand away. She had no idea if he knew anything about her, but she wanted to reassure him in case that was what he was timid about. “I’m not THAT scary yet, I promise.”

Dylan hummed, smirked and simply started to walk to wherever. He simply had no idea where he was even going, but currently he didn’t care. “Anywhere we go to explore right now we at least go together. Just as getting lost. At least I do have a map on my phone, just in case,” he stated with a nod. Back up plans were always good. “Oh even if you were going to hurt me I don’t think you really can? No that’s not it. I have this power, which I don’t like. But if our skins touch without me being prepared for it,” he said with a little his and sigh. “Let’s just say it is not pleasant for both of us,”

“Ah, that could be helpful,” she said, leaning over to see if he had his phone before she looked up at him. “What class are you supposed to go to? Or what do you have?” Clarke watched him as he spoke and gave a small nod, biting her lip with a chuckle. “Who says I couldn’t?” she asked. She shook her head and shoved her hands in her pockets as they walked. “That makes two of us then. Just...remember to never make me mad.”

"Hey hello there" The tall man balancing with the boxes in his hand laughed down at the shorter redheat. "Would you mind stepping away?"

Clarke turned around to see who the man was and her eyes widened a bit. He was at least a foot or so taller than her. She arched a brow and crossed her arms, pouting with a small chuckle. “Is that a short joke?”

Clarke chuckled and began to walk beside him, assuming he wouldn’t mind. They were both equally as new to this place and she needed someone to find her way around with. “Ah, see, I’m just as lost as you are. I have no idea where I’m going, but maybe we can get lost together.” The girl nodded. “Nice to meet you too, Dylan.” She reached her hand toward him with an open palm, offering a hand shake.

Dylan couldn’t help but to smirk a little. “In that case, want to get lost together? I know the way,” he chuckled because of his own little joke. “But yeah, I appreciate that. Somehow it does look better wandering around together? Like we can at least pretend like we know where we’re going or what we’re doing,” he stated. He looked down at the others hand and swallowed for a moment. He reached out but didn’t dare to touch her hand just yet. Trying his best, his very best, to block every possibility of his power to be used. Only then he tried to take her hand and shake it.

The lack of heat in the other’s skin was noticeable as they shook, but it didn’t bother her too much. It was only a simple gesture. She grasped her hand slightly before pulling it away, dropping it comfortably at her side. “Nice to meet you too, Zoe.”

A smile lit up the pixie’s image as she watched the female’s response, noting how she seemed fine. “So, what subjects are you taking?”

Zoe couldn’t help herself but stare at the female’s hand before she took it in her grasp, her cold hand colliding against the other’s warmer hand. “And I’m Zoe.” She then said while shaking the other’s hand lightly: more comfortable this time. “Nice to meet you, Clarke.”
