Before you started studying different blogs and behaviours on tumblr, did you have a blog? If not, Is tumblr how you thought it would be before you created one?
I did and still do have a blog. Sometimes its better to study something you already have knowledge of (/know how it works) because you sort of get a feel from it as an insider and also as an outsider. This blog has really changed my perspective on the way Tumblr works, which it one of the reasons the focus has shifted so many times during this research.
THERE ARE SO MANY SHIPS AND OTPS AND STUFF GOODLUCK.
AND THERE ARE SO MANY CROSS SHIPS AND JOINT FANDOMS AND PEOPLE WHO ARE SO AMAZING AT PHOTOSHOPPING AND WRITING FANFICTION (it makes me wonder how fifty shades of grey became mainstream because daaayyymmmnnn some of these fanfic writers can give e l james a run for her money) AND HAVE SO MANY EXCELLENT POINTS ON FEMINISM AND POLITICS AND GENDER EQUALITY AND THE SCREEN CAPS AND THE SARCASTIC COMMENTS AND THE PUNS AND OTP’S BETWEEN MAJOR AND MINOR CHARACTERS AND THE JEWELLERY AND THE SHIRTS AND OMG I WILL NEED ALL THE LUCK IN THE INIFNITE UNIVERSE THANK YOU
i don't understand why people screenshot a popular post to get notes. like, im pretty sure that it would have taken less time to click reblog and add to the 200k notes instead of taking a screen shot and adding a witty comment. when there is a series of text posts, or even a comparison i can understand and see the humour. but 1 post? no. just no.
Any fandoms that you find strange?
The 'superwholock' fandom because they try and make every post about themselves/ relate it back to their fandom. They also seem to be the most dominant fandom on here too, so even if you abhor supernatural/ doctor who/ Sherlock, their presence is always on your dash.
