Showrunner Katharina Eyssen shared some screenshots of Josephine Thiesen (Princess Marie), Johannes Nussbaum (Archduke Maximilian) and Runa Greinee (Charlotte von Stubenberg) from the editing room of the second season of The Empress (2022).

Wait Josephine Thiesen is a new actress right? Do we already have the cast of the second season's new characters?

Yes, she is and I think it was only her but it has been months since I last checked and it was before filming. They only ever called her Princess Marie and I have been wondering ever since who she could be. They haven't given us anything yet.

Hi, this is a what if question based on sisi (2021) if Marie didn’t leave at the end of season 2 and continued to live at court, how do you think season 3 Rudolf and Gisela would have treated Marie. My question is purely based on the series. Do you think they would treat Marie like a big sister or would they just be a bully or act snobby towards Marie out of jealousy perhaps

I don't know if they would have treated her like family but I could imagine her being an older authority figure to them. A bit like Esterházy but much younger. More of a friend than family. We can't forget that officially at court Marie is a young countess. No one but the main characters actually know that her backstory is fake. I don't think they would tell Rudolf and Gisela at such a young age either because they are kids and could reveal the secret by accident.

Do you think there is a chance that Marie will appear in the 4th season of Sisi (2021)?

We know nothing about the fourth season so far so I don't know. Given Sisi's track record with bringing back side characters, it's a 50:50 and since they jumped ahead in time, they definitely would need to cast a new actress.

Ik its not revealed what happened to marie but what’s your personal guess. What could have happened after she left? Franz used to care for her a lot, do u think he looked after her after she left like sending her back to that school or something. Or did he completely abandon marie n she had to support herself all alone. Just your opinion

I think they sent her to be schooled somewhere, maybe even in the household of some noble. I think we saw in season 02 that Franz recognizes Fanny's made-up countess title for Marie since he refers to her as Countess Marie xyz in one scene to someone else, so she should be part of the nobility now. I guess they would have her educated in a way that she can enter society as an adult and make a good match, and until then they provide for her monetarily.

What are the chances that Wally is Marie? The way she looked at Franz, almost expecting him to recognize her. The version I watched didn’t have the most accurate sub-titles so I wondered if there was a reveal that a missed. I just found it odd that they completely dropped Marie’s character without a mention.

At the moment, the chances are zero. You missed nothing. Marie isn't mentioned and Wally's backstory isn't really revealed.

Sorry if you were asked this question, but which series did you like more - Sisi or The Empress?

I haven't received this question yet...I think? I'm honestly not sure. Both played a lot with the material and basically turned it into fanfiction of what we know happened.

I mean Sisi is also already on its fourth season production cycle while The Empress is only just now wrapping up filming its second season, so comparing them is really difficult when you have three times as many episodes for one series. I think I enjoy Dominique's Sisi a bit more to Devrim's while I like Philip's Franz over Jannik's, but this isn't on the actors but the stories written for them and how they are directed to play them.

But overall I recommend watching Sisi (2009) over both of them.

Did you watch everything?

What do you mean by everything? Every show and movie I show here?

Well yes, except Sisi und Ich. I tried but after 30 minutes I was so bored and weirded out I decided to try another day. That day just hasn't come yet.
