you know the show is going to be good when it starts off with whump… i introduce you to my new blorbo peter, an FBI agent who gets wrapped up in some conspiracy plot and is protecting/rescuing a civilian. he gets injured in an explosion + run over by a car in the first 10mins of ep 1, has physical and emotional-traumatic scars, gets shot at + beaten up + punched MULTIPLE TIMES throughout the series, major delicious whump with aftercare in ep 6. plus a cute slow burn. it’s an old style spy thriller and it’s (whumpy) goooood.
Anyone know of any good shows with a lot of whump?! I’ve seen a quite a few, but I’m looking for more! I tend to like crime, drama shows, but I’m open to anything at this point!!
I’ve Watched:
Bones, Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, ER, Jack Ryan, SVU, and so many more! haha
Movie: See You Soon on Amazon prime!
sorry for the terrible quality!
Home and Away never fails to have good whump.... just recently i found some... Dean was in a terrible car accident where he got a smashed pelvis and has been in the hospital for quite a while. Now he is beginning physical therapy and there is quite a LOT of whump... starts in episode 7634, but continues for way more episodes after this!
Anyone have any good shows/episodes or movies where there is back pain or injury whump!?! I know of a couple, but looking for more!!
Bones (Booth has back pain throughout a bunch of episodes)
La Brea
LOOKING FOR MORE :)
Anyone have any good shows/episodes or movies where there is leg or knee whump!?! I know of a couple, but looking for more!!
Warning for spoilers! J gets a leg injury in Animal Kingdom (the show) that gets re-injured before it heals! John Silver in Black Sails gets his knee smashed while he's being tortured at the end of season 2. In Rescue: Special Ops, one of the team members breaks his back halfway through the third season. It's more full-leg whump, but Kaz in Shadow and Bone walks with a cane because he injured his leg and it never healed right. Hope this helps! :]
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!
by this i mean whumpees who, despite having never faced any knee injuries in their life, get insane knee pain from repeated movements that use their knees (think like lunges n shit). in true wisteria-whump fashion, this is inspired by the knee pain i faced from the absolutely insanely intense hell that was middle school gym class <3
What is your favorite hallmark movie with whump!?
Here’s a few I like
Second Chances
Retreat to Paradise
Love on the Sidelines!!
Are there any others?!
i wish there would’ve been a bit more whump to this episode!! :(
Comedy relief character: exists
Character with messed up childhood: exists
Stoic character that Can’t Show Pain™: exists
Vulnerable character with doe eyes: exists
love the header of your blog, that scene of Bones is A++ (esp. when Bones asks Booth abt his never-healed-right injuries from torture - is that from that scene?)
YES, YES IT IS!! hahaha, i’m so sad the show is over!! :(
I have loved whump for years and I don't know how to explain to other people the way I feel about it without sounding crazy. It feels isolating and scary to even tell people I care about and I don't want it to be something I keep to myself forever because I know a lot of other people feel this way. So I'd like some feedback if other people have gone through the same thing.
i know exactly how you feel!!!! i still kind of keep it from some people, bc it just feels so weird to explain it, and the people i do tell, i almost say it like in a joking way, bc i just don’t think people will take it seriously! but i guess in the end its not the worst thing and there’s worse things to really love and enjoy! so just embrace it! (:
Did you ever, before you knew what whump was and that it was sort of normal, think that you were a sadist/ think you were crazy? How did you convince yourself otherwise? -Just someone who's interested in the psychology of whump because I love it
honestly, i had no idea there was a real name for it, and i thought it was just a weird obsession i had! it was embarrassing and a bit awkward. i didn’t think much of it when i was younger, and now that i’m older and im still this way, I’ve just come to accept it. sometimes it’s frustrating bc i feel a little abnormal along with all the other weird things about me, but in the end, i can’t change it. (:
If anyone has ever been into degrasssi, a new season was uploaded to netflix! and on the last episode there’s Zig whump!!!! check it out!!! he falls down like a bank in the woods, hurts his leg and stuff!
