PROLOGUE

HARRY WAS ASLEEP. She could kill him now. His face was turned from her – it wouldn’t be hard. Would he stir if she moved? Try and stop her? Or would he accept what he deserved?

God, she couldn’t think like that. She needed to remember what was right, what was good. But, she couldn’t help it. When you’re a hostage, the days seem endless and hope is the first things to die.

The girl tried to rack her brain for happy memories to hold off the dark thoughts, but each day they got harder and harder to summon.

She didn’t know how long it had been since it happened. All she knew was that normal life seemed like a dream ago. And she feared she’d never get out of this nightmare.

Why did he have to take her? Lord knew she was the last girl that deserved this- but yet no one deserved this, she thought.

Her knees were brought to her chest, one of her arms hugging them to her while her other couldn’t move due to the pair of handcuffs trapping it to the metal headboard.

He didn’t trust her.

She wanted out.

His silhouette was visible, lying on the mattress next to where she sat, light snores tumbling from his lips as he slept well. Yet her eyes were anywhere but.

The gun was on the bedside table, a careless act.

Harry was asleep. She could kill him now.

A/N: Hi there, so I’ve had this idea for a short while for a fanfic and I figured what better time to write it than during lockdown so here we are.

warning: this story will contain mature content and sensitive topics. it will contain strong language, dark themes, violence, confronting situations and  substance use. If you are not comfortable with any of these themes then please do not read. This will be the only warning.

Also, thought I might just mention that the prologue and first chapter will be written in third person and then the chapters after that will be written in first person. I just thought it established the storyline/beginning better in third person but I prefer to write in first so that’s why there will be a change.
