“But seriously, he’s not even that bad. I think we don’t talk enough about Alphas having distress calls or scents.

kofi alternative for adult creators

Hey guys ignore that last post. An awesome person in Discord just suggested Subscribestar as a tip service for adult content. Much easier than all that Gumroad stuff.

Kofi Alternative for Adult Creators

Heyo. o/ 

As many of you have seen, most payment apps aren’t safe for adult creators. If someone becomes a salty baby and decides to report your page, it can be unpublished. This can occur with or without adult content advertised on the page. Companies like Kofi don’t even want to mentioned on a NSFW post, (Jokes on them. I don’t have a Kofi, so I can say it all I want. Kofi. Kofi. Kooofifififi.) so many people are looking for alternatives. 

Last year I went through an issue with Patreon where they told me I had to take down all my dark content. This was infuriating, ofc, so I started looking for alternatives myself. While Patreon allows adult content, (so long as it does not include images of real people). they don’t allow dark content. Gumroad allows both (again so long as the people aren’t real), and they connect directly to your bank account. Whatever middle man they use for payment processing doesn’t seem to give a shit since, when asked, they told me verbatim, “Does it depict real people engaged in sexual activity? If not, it’s allowed on Gumroad!”

Now, you can use Patreon as an adult content creator, no problem. However, as mentioned in this post by Keizos, the app is buggy and it has a terrible interface which makes it incredibly difficult for subscribers to find benefits. And as they also mentioned, Patreon doesn’t allow tipping. Gumroad, on the other hand, has a fantastic interface that is easy to use and highly customizable. Their mobile app is also bangin.  

While Gumroad does not have a specific “tipping” feature, what it does give you is the ability to sell products, and to allow customers to pick their own price. So, getting a little creative, you can receive a modified form of tip on Gumroad.

I’m not going to go through all the in’s and outs of using Gumroad; they have a badass tutorial. But here is how you could go about selling tips as a product on Gumroad and having them function essentially the same way.

Step 1:  

Use the menu on the left to select “products.” Once you’re on the products page, select “new product.”

Step 2: 

You’ll then be taken to the product creation page. Make sure you select “classic” since the individual will be paying for the “product” immediately.  Here, you’ll be able to name your product and your price (I’ll explain how to let them pick their price on the next step.) 

Step 3: 

You’ll be taken to a page where you can further customize the product. Explain it how you will, then scroll down until you see “pricing.” Make sure you toggle “Allow customers to pay what they what” ON, and then you can set a minimum and suggestion. Before you publish the product, you have to upload something for them to purchase. Might I suggest a picture of your cat, frog, dog, or a hand drawn stick figure of you weeping with joy. Hit “publish” which will be in the upper-right, and you’re good to go. Hope this helps!
