getting really drunk is okay, decorating your garden with a bunch of fairy lights is okay, hanging up a disco ball for party is okay, using all the money you wanted to use for your restitution to buy a hot tub is okay, do whatever you need to do to cope

The more I think about it, the more I realize how easy it would’ve been to age up all the characters in outer banks, like why is 16 the age of obsession always? Minus the poorly constructed DCS plot that went nowhere, but they all could’ve been 18+ and nothing would’ve really changed. Pope would’ve been trying his best to maintain his scholarship with staying out of trouble and the interview could’ve been for a prestigious intership opportunity that would’ve opened even more doors while still having to work for his dad during the summer. JJ could’ve still been living with his abusive father both because he didn’t have the money to move out and he also had to take care of his drunk ass, obligation over everything. Kie and Sarah would just be back home for the summer and still have the same problems with their torn friendship, because surprise surpise, friendship and relationship drama continue even AFTER highschool. And all the more reason to find the gold because life is harder if you can’t even afford an education! How is it that wheezie seems like the only actual teenager?? Plus having the most of the main cast be shirtless for most of the scenes and making us believe their teens? That’s the standard for teen dramas but it’s still weird when the cast is all 21+ and they have to tell us at least once per episode that they are in fact 16.
