can everyone just let it sink in and fully appreciate the fact that Angel used to be a fuckboy.

#honestly this is what endears me the most about angel’s character #he was a shitbag human who became an even WORSE vampire #then getting his soul back turned him into a pitiful self loathing apathetic gutter-dwelling garbage man for a hundred years #until finally the literal Powers That Be had to intervene #to get him off his useless fuckwit ass and actually DO SOMETHING with his life #and i mean honestly he’s still kind of a dick for most of season 1 too #a helpful dick–but he has zero social skills and although he already loves Buffy you can tell he’s still kinda Not Too Sure about this whole Being Good thing #it’s not until he kills Darla that he fully gets on board and even then he almost gives up in Prophecy Girl when Buffy goes off to fight The Master #he would have–if not for Xander (God I can’t believe I just stanned that kid. Ew.) #and then he and Buffy get together for real but you can tell all of this is new for him having genuine feelings for someone. being happy with them. #having their love and devotion returned uncoditionally #he’s still getting used to the idea when he loses his soul #and then he comes back from Hell half-suicidal and all the more convinced that he doesn’t deserve Buffy #and that there’s no way he can possibly contribute anything good to the world after everything he’s done it’s not til Amends–which really is SUCH an important character episode for Angel that I wish wasn’t so overlooked– #that his confrontation with Buffy on that hill in Sunnydale gives him the conceit that he will carry with him to LA and onto his own show: #So what that you were a shitbag and you still kind of are? You’re still here and you still have the power to do real good and affect change #should you choose to #Now Choose and Angel chooses. and chooses and chooses and continues to choose to do the right thing #no matter how many times he slips up and fucks up and almost gives into his apathy or his bloodlust or both at the same time #in the end; he always sets himself back on that path that that incredibly strong young woman he knew and loved/s showed him the way to #never lets go of what knowing and loving her taught him: #redemption is always possible so long as you’re strong enough to work toward it #this is just one of the reasons angel the character resonates so strongly with me: #he’s beyond flawed–and he knows it. he’s incredibly weak–and he knows it. he’s been selfish and spiteful and petty his whole life #and he knows it #but for the first time in his (un)life he’s not letting that stop him #from doing the right thing and he’s not doing it to get into Buffy’s pants. or to please her. or to prove he’s worthy of her #he’s actively choosing to do good in the world for its own sake #after all: if nothing we do matters then all that matters is what we do (via)

I like to think that, in the few moments Adora and Catra shared together after The Kiss, Adora found herself thinking, for the first time, about her own feelings before the fate of the entire world. And Catra, for the first time, was finally okay with seeing Adora leave for the sake of that world.

Someone on TikTok said that bitches with anxiety love the enemies to lovers trope because the idea of having someone see all of our negative traits first and then still fall in love with us is really comforting since we worry that if someone sees our negative traits after they fall in love, they’ll leave us.

I think what makes Dani and Jamie’s relationship so endearing to me is that it’s the classic pairing of The Bubbly, Sunshine One and The Dark, Broody One but with a twist. Because at first glance, based purely on outward appearances, Dani is the Sunshine One and Jamie is the Dark One.

Dani tries to present as this happy, innocent, nurturing teacher who is great with little kids and wears lots of bright, feminine colors. Meanwhile Jamie presents outwardly as mysterious and dark and hates everyone and doesnt care.

Yet in reality, on the inside, Dani is the one who is really struggling, and dealing with so much dark shit, and is slowly falling apart.

Whereas Jamie is secretly very sunny and happy later on.

Especially in the proposal scene, and really anytime she’s with Dani. Jamie becomes so giggly and bubbly and HAPPY.

Jamie, who claims to not care about people, and doesn’t want to let people in and get hurt, becomes so gentle, nurturing, and sweet.
