Georgina Villanueva, Miss Mexico 2020, with some serious witchy vibes

Fuck you! Fuck you! Fuck you!

This is not a Witchy Vibe aesthetic photo.

This is Mexican culture. This is Miss Mexico showing off her Calavera outfit.

I do not like when people appropriate Dia de los Muertos for aesthetic looks and that includes (white) Mexicans as well. The way you chose to comment on this and tag it is extremely disrespectful:

This has nothing to do with covens, witchcraft, European witchcraft, paganism, or Wicca. How dare you take something that is specifically Mexican culture with eurocentric concepts.

Do you even know that did Dia de los Muertos originate from indigenous practices dating back to the Aztecs before the Spaniards came in colonized everyone?

Abosede: *is tall*
Everyone else: O///O

Thank you, @sketching-jess, for letting me borrow Clover!

The best thing is that Abosede is pretty oblivious to the effect her height has on people, both positive and negative, but she does enjoy how people react to it

Abosede is a tree and Clover is a squirrel ready to climb said tree 🧗‍♀️

Ahhhhh thank you for drawing her UwU

I really like Laurel, so I decided to draw her with Tashi. @i-am-arcana-trash‘s tags whenever I draw him are so lovely :D

I hope she likes the outfit Tashi made for her.

13: Aftermath

What happened with everyone/everything they left behind from the time they died up until they were brought back? Did anyone know they were gone besides Asra?
@arcana-echoes

[This follows the timeline of Apprentice!Lyra]

With the ash raining down upon them all, Bảo’s lungs were not going to last much longer in Vesuvia.

Thanks to Doctor Devorak, Bảo was going to see a more capable doctor in order to get treatment. Sadly, Lyra was adamant in staying in Vesuvia, to help find a cure anyway she could.

There was a lot of yelling and pleading from both sides to get what they wanted. Ultimately, Lyra won out in staying within Vesuvia whilst the rest of her family would be staying with family in Prakra for the indeterminate future.

Day 14: In Another Life

What would have happened if they never went to Vesuvia? If they didn’t die from the plague, or if they had left when Asra asked them to? Who would they be?
@arcana-echoes

{Bảo, Walterine and James are in their late 20s}

“How long have you known that I died from the Plague?“

CRASH!

I wince as the whole tea tray drops to the floor from James’s hands. Black tea, tea biscuits, slices of pumpkin bread, and some utensils are now on the floor of the shop.

Burying the Hatchet

Timeline: Red Plague; a week and a half before the official lockdown.

Their fights have been getting to a fever pitch lately. James and Lyra didn’t always get along, but this was the first time that the two of them ever really got into shouting matches.

Today, the pair had argued in the alley behind Bảo’s shop for the better part of an hour. Despite being masked, their voices could carry quite a distance. After that spat, Lyra decided to stay in The Shop with Asra as James retired to bed early.

This leaves Bảo, Walt, and Neha at the dinner table, awkwardly shuffling around to get dinner ready.

Day 6: Friends

Who was their best friend when they were younger? Did they have a friend group? Were their siblings their friends?
@arcana-echoes

Yên — Bảo’s Only Betrothed

In general, Bảo was friends with the other queer kids in the village. They were, in one way or another, rallying against their parents for not accepting them as who they were. Yên, in comparison to the rest of the lot, is the odd one out.

At first, Bảo only knew her as the girl next door for a good chunk of his life. She was the girl that Quân thought would be a good match for Bảo. His line of thought hoped that Yên’s gentleness could calm down his son’s rebellious streak.

She did no such thing.

Day II: Julian—Murder [THAT HE DIDN’T COMMIT]

Featuring Apprentice!Lyra Nguyen, Julian Devorak, Portia Devorak, the locals of Nevion, and the late Lilinka.

Upon arrival in Nevion, Lyra got swept up in a grand scale of warm greetings from Portia and Julian’s childhood friends. The latter rescues Lyra as their questioning grows to be overwhelming for her.

The crowd shuffles them from the docks to one of the local pubs. The bartender instantly recognizes Julian, admonishing him for being away for so long.

“Well I’m here now, aren’t I?” Julian replies. He gets a drink for that, and that’s how it all begins.
