Translator notes: Dragon Boat Festival was sooooo early this year (May 30) and it kind of messed me up because it’s a summer festival dang it it’s not even June what the heck lunisolar calendar???
If you’ve never had a zongzi, it is a kind of…. dumpling, I guess, which is glutinous rice packed around a filling and then wrapped in leaves (usually bamboo) and steamed. They’re delicious and great to eat on a picnic.

I know the notion of "cozy horror" has caused a kerfuffle recently with people discoursing about what it means about the decline of societal hoohah in the whatnow but be that as it may.
But something that was inspired by my own family that I think would be a great basis for a story.
Chaotic family. Neurodiverse parents, neurodiverse kids. Fake it til you make it except you can't really fake it and you never really make it, but you're all trying and there's love and forgiveness and patience.
Mom comes across sinuous white mass, writhing and groaning, on the floor of the hallway.
"Oh will you cut that out, it's past bed time. You know you wanna have a good time at the movies tomorrow!" Mom says in fond exasperation as she steps over the mass to go down the stairs to do dishes.
The ghost she just steps over like Hɱɱ. ყҽʂ ιɳ ϝαƈƚ I ԃσ ɯαɳƚ ƚσ ԋαʋҽ α ɠσσԃ ƚιɱҽ αƚ ƚԋҽ ɱσʋιҽʂ ƚσɱσɾɾσɯ.
That's how the family gets an extra child.

do I feel like I’ve made things better in the world? definitely not! I’ve made them worse! but you know what? I stand by that. that’s a creed. that’s a philosophy. I have a philosophy: shitposting. I’m dedicated. I’m dedicated to shitposting because it’s important. I think people need shitposting.
do I feel ashamed of myself? definitely. am I doing Satan’s work? yes.
I think it’s important that people shitpost. if everyone just wrote insightful posts, you know, or listened to each other, or you know, dialogued, and responded to other people’s writing, I think that would get old fairly quickly.
you know, I used to write really insightful original content. but the fact is that I find the most satisfaction just posting shit.
