I've been seeing grieving sentiment that Notre-Dame has been a 'total loss' a lot and feel the need to set a few things straight: At this time, the fire appears to have started in the crossing tower where the spire restoration was underway. The most probable theory is electrical problems, but no definitive proof is available right now. Notre-Dame has survived largely intact from the medieval engineering of the buttresses and the piers inside and the efforts of Paris's fire brigade. The worst of the damage is on the roof, where the timbers have completely burned away. The attic rose window on the north transept arm has been lost, and was blown out from the heat of the roof fire. The other three windows are intact. The crossing tower is the spire that fell; the vault underneath held, but one of the webs between the vaults heading towards the West end of the cathedral collapsed when it took the brunt of the fall. The relics from the sacristy have been saved; some accounts say that a chaplain accompanied by a firefigher lead the efforts to protect them. The cathedral still stands, and fundraising efforts have already started to repair the damage and finish restorations. Additionally, research previously conducted by architectural historians, buildings archaeologists, engineers, architects, and countless others have ensured the life of the cathedral is well recorded, and will help to inform the repairs and restoration in the coming months.
Finally, cathedrals are not static; fires happen and the technology that built Notre Dame came out of an effort to minimize the damage of a fire. The multiple building phases of the cathedral show that it grew over time and changes were made that brought it to the present day. This fire is simply entering in a new building phase in the life of this cathedral.

Currently he has the narrow chest piece on, as his broad chest was broken on arrival--the narrow chest suits his character better though, so no worries! Only his head is painted atm, and I need to decide on his proper eyecolor, to get him his permanent set soon.
