It had been so long since he had last seen Arya. What would she look like now? Would he even know her? Arya Underfoot. Her face was always dirty. Would she still have that little sword he’d had Mikken forge for her? Stick them with the pointy end, he’d told her. Wisdom for her wedding night if half of what he heard of Ramsay Snow was true. Bring her home, Mance. I saved your son from Melisandre, and now I am about to save four thousand of your free folk. You owe me this one little girl.

JON SNOW MONTH 2022❄️Day 14: Arya Stark.

“First lesson,” Jon said. “Stick them with the pointy end.“Arya gave him a whap on the arm with the flat of her blade. The blow stung, but Jon found himself grinning like an idiot. "I know which end to use,” Arya said. A doubtful look crossed her face. “Septa Mordane will take it away from me.”

❄️❄️❄️

“ I have need of every man who knows which end of the spear to stab into the wildlings.”“The pointy end.” Jon had told his little sister something like that once, he remembered.

❄️❄️❄️

Stick them with the pointy end, he’d told her, but if she tried to stick the Bastard, it could mean her life.

❄️❄️❄️

Stick them with the pointy end, he’d told her. Wisdom for her wedding night if half of what he heard of Ramsay Snow was true.

❄️❄️❄️

Jon fell to his knees. He found the dagger’s hilt and wrenched it free. In the cold night air the wound was smoking. “Ghost,” he whispered. Pain washed over him. Stick them with the pointy end. When the third dagger took him between the shoulder blades, he gave a grunt and fell face-first into the snow. He never felt the fourth knife. Only the cold …

Back in Winterfell, Arya had prayed with her mother in the sept.

"You," Ned said, kissing her lightly on the brow, "will marry a king and rule his castle, and your sons will be knights and princes and lords and, yes, perhaps even a High Septon."

This is 100% about Arya. No amount of warping, bending, mental gymnastics or reaching is going to make it about other character.

Arya says 'no, thats sansa' at the end because at this time sansa is betrothed to joffery, who is supposed to be the future king. So obviously arya would say thats sansa. Its basic common sense since there is no other king around.

Sansa already has her own prophecy where ned tells her she would marry a brave, gentle and strong lord. Sansa stans saying that sansas own prophecy is about sansa and aryas prophecy is also about sansa is Unhinged to say the least.

Its so weird that some s*nsa stans are so desperate try to 'parallel' her to lyanna when lyanna is integral part of aryas story. Not only is she aryas literary mirror but also important to arya emotionally.

You know s*nsa stans say that she is like lyanna because lyanna cried at a song. They ignore that its worded in such a way that it was very rare for lyanna. Rheagars song touched her so much that it brought tears to her eyes. It was a very rare occasion because it was a special song by a special person. Lyanna crying at a song which she normally doesn't for anyone makes it that much more special.

Unlike sansa who probably cries at evey sad song.

Plus benjen teased lyanna for it and she jokingly pored wine over his head. Which implies that she was embarrassed by it. She is literally arya. Arya would be embarrassed if she is caught crying at a song. After years of claiming that its stupid.

Sansa wont be embarrassed if she cried at a song. Thats normal for her.

Also sansa stans say that sansa got lyannas romantic side trying to insinuate that arya is not romantic. When the very first time arya is ever mentioned in Asoiaf books is as "Arya is already in love ".

Arya is literally defined by love.

House Targaryen’s best core trait is willing to think outside the box.

The reason House Targaryen survives the Doom of Valyria is because Daenys has a prophetic dream and her father Aenar listens to her and uproots his entire family, despite being mocked by the other Valyrian dragonlords. Despite what we think of conquest and considering all the Westerosi houses exist because of conquest, Aegon had a vision of a unified Westeros instead of the squabbling regions he saw. He saw something none of the other kings of Westeros saw and he made it happen even while respecting each regions’ cultures and traditions. Daeron the Good united all the 7 kingdoms peacefully when he brought Dorne into the fold by marriage rather than the sword. Alysanne ended the tradition of First Night, where lords could sleep with a bride on her wedding night.  Aegon the Unlikely sought to reduce the powers of the high lords and pass reforms favorable to smallfolk. This continues on with Rhaegar, Dany, and Jon, for good or ill.

Targaryens’ core identity seems to be looking at existing social structures and saying “nah.” Maybe it’s because like the quote says “Like their dragons, Targaryens answered to neither god nor man” and obviously this trait has gone very wrong in some people’s hands. But at its best? it’s a soaring epic trait.

i’m like…. officially announcing i’m never calling myself ‘feminine/‘girly girl’ ever again thanks to tumblr freaks completely spoiling the term for me. i’m having a gag reflex every time i hear the word or see posts on how girls who don’t enjoy ~feminine activities~ are ‘not like other girls men wannabes’ or smth. i’m not gonna stan your bland ass meek fave. i don’t care she’s feminine, charming soft spoken queen who wields ‘soft power’. i love loud, angry, and opinionated genuine bitches who talk back. yeah, i do enjoy me some girly stuff and pretty dresses and makeup but holy shit. holy shit.

ARYA STARK APPRECIATION MONTH 2022

Day 15: Romantic Interests → Jon Snow

She yearned to see her mother again, and Robb and Bran and Rickon … but it was Jon Snow she thought of most. She wished somehow they could come to the Wall before Winterfell, so Jon might muss up her hair and call her “little sister.” She’d tell him, “I missed you,” and he’d say it too at the very same moment, the way they always used to say things together. She would have liked that. She would have liked that better than anything. - Arya I, A Clash of Kings

~

“My lady?” Ned said at last. “You have a baseborn brother … Jon Snow?” “He’s with the Night’s Watch on the Wall.” Maybe I should go to the Wall instead of Riverrun. Jon wouldn’t care who I killed or whether I brushed my hair … “Jon looks like me, even though he’s bastard-born. He used to muss my hair and call me ‘little sister.’” Arya missed Jon most of all. Just saying his name made her sad. “How do you know about Jon?” - Arya VIII, A Storm of Swords

~

Needle was Robb and Bran and Rickon, her mother and her father, even Sansa. Needle was Winterfell’s grey walls, and the laughter of its people. Needle was the summer snows, Old Nan’s stories, the heart tree with its red leaves and scary face, the warm earthy smell of the glass gardens, the sound of the north wind rattling the shutters of her room. Needle was Jon Snow's smile. He used to mess my hair and call me “little sister,” she remembered, and suddenly there were tears in her eyes. - Arya II, A Feast for Crows
