Since Disneyland hasn’t made a Bad Batch Magic Band yet (tbh, Disneyland has a whole lot of nothing in regards to Bad Batch merch in general)… I customized my own! I’m still not sure what the point of Magic Bands are, but at looking at mind makes me happy! 😂

I don’t post work stuff awesome, but I had a really great time last night hanging out with coworkers to see our suits in action in Blue Beetle. The movie is fun, we actually got screen credit, and they even had one of the suits on display on the theatre lobby! I’m always proud of the work we do at Ironhead Studio. I love my job.
And so it’s not all birds, enjoy some lovely orb weavers I saw last weekend.
I don’t post enough, so please enjoy this curious Coop Kid being ADORABLE. They’re one of four kids from a nest down the street, and watching them learn how to be functioning hawks is my favorite thing in the world.

I don’t know if anyone here also follows my jennrosefx Instagram, but if so, it got hacked. Please please please ignore anything it sends you. I feel so unbelievably stupid. I’m so upset. I know better. I KNOW BETTER.
So, a little over a month ago, I got myself a new camera and lens. I’d been toying with switching to Mirrorless for awhile, and by selling a couple of lenses I’d been meaning to sell, I was finally able to make the switch. And I have to say… it’s the best thing I’ve ever bought. Sometimes I hug the camera when no one is looking. I love it so, so much and it brings me a whole lot of joy. And being the accident prone, ADHD hurricane that I am, I’m going out of my way to try to take better care of it than I have past equipment. In an attempt to protect it from scratches and dust when it’s laying around my house or being thrown in my car to go birding, I ordered a protective sleeve for it (I prefer to call it “Camera Pajamas” because protective sleeve just sounds…). Anyways, all this today I had an Aurebesh patch made that says “Firepuncher” because I love this camera as much as Crosshair loves his rifle and I’m a great big nerd. And I’m absolutely delighted by it. Delighted I tell you!! 😂

We have these geese at work that we are supposed to dress up for various holidays. I guess it stems from the porch geese tradition from… the Midwest? The South? Back East? I don’t remember. I have managed to do this exactly zero times. But I put forth the minimum effort for May the 4th because it would be wrong not to. I present to you… Crosshair Goose. Clearly the most important thing I’ve ever done.

Dammit Mouse, you’re supposed to be the smart one! 🙄 I had to intervene and get her tail out of her mouth when it became apparent that she wasn’t letting go immediately and was instead throwing coils over her own tail and trying to eat it. Once I showed her the error of her ways, she went on to eat the actual intended mouse like a civilized snake. Let this be a cautionary tale to not name your snake Mouse... they are apparently easily confused.
I guess I should give Ike her own proper post. She’s my favorite animal to photograph at the LA Zoo. I could sit for hours and watch her preen, dig in the dirt for bugs, and just run around looking like the perfect little dinosaur that she is. She looks like a classical painting. I love this bird. She’s cooler than ALL OF US.
