Cal bit his lip, staying where he was. He watched Leonidae closely, pulling himself into the boat. The blueish green scales on his body glimmered in the moonlight, covering the outer portion of his thighs and biceps, as well as patches on his sides and chest. 

“I was singing to you though… for your attention.” He pushed his wet black locks back and he moved closer to Leonidae, chuckling when the captain pushed himself away from the siren.

“I’m not going to kill you. I would have done that when your back was turned.”

Cal ducked under the boat before coming up on the other side, leaning on the edge of the boat. He was behind Leonidae before speaking up. 

“I’m sorry about your boat.” 

He spoke softly, hoping that he wouldn’t startle the other man. He was really handsome.

The other men hadn’t heard anything, or if they did no one spoke up and said anything. The crew arrived on shore some few short days later, landing in an English port, which the crew was thankful for, to finally find land. They were starved.

Cal had followed them the entire way. He had managed to end up in unmarked territory and he had no idea where he was. He stayed back from their boat, eyes barely above the water as he watched the men climb on shore.

Derek stopped in his tracks as someone grabbed his arm, turning his head only enough to cock an eyebrow in the younger man’s direction as he spoke. He was silent for a moment as the other bounced, smelling the tinge of anxiety on the… guy. Whatever he was. With a roll of his eyes, Derek muttered a low “Good luck with that” and then started walking once more, hands sliding into his pockets now.
