“I wish…I wish I were dead.”
I belong here, and you will not deny me. [[Draco ]]
Taking a deep breath, trying to reign in his anger at the young man in front of him, Severus clenched his hands tightly, “Draco…you do not know the danger you put yourself in…you have no idea what you are getting yourself into,”
It was his home! It was the Malfoy-mansion. Where he grew up,and here was Severus Snape attempting to stop him from going inside.
“But I live here!” the younger man insisted.
Pointing and gesturing to the door before him. Sure it felt a little different, like an eerie dark cloud had slowly laid its presence over it, but it was nonetheless his home. His parents were inside. Why was Snape trying to stop him?
“Let me in!”
With those words hissed he tried to push Snape aside to get inside. Hoping nothing was wrong. That nothing had happened to his parents.
Grabbing the boy’s shoulders as he tried to push past him, Severus hissed at him, “Be quiet!”
Pushing him into the parlour off the main entrance, he shut the door behind them, leaning up against the heavy oak door, collecting his thoughts before turning back to the young man behind him, “Draco…your parents are…busy..”
Severus did not want to tell Draco exactly what was going on in the main hall of the Malfoy mansion…the torture of one of his class mates…a child…unfortunate enough to be born to muggle parents…unfortunate enough to fall under the gaze of the Dark Lord…and now experiencing more horror and pain than anyone should ever be exposed to. Walking towards Draco, Severus rubbed his forehead tiredly, “They will be able to see you soon,”
Draco was taken by surprise, and found himself disheveled and shocked by this behavior. This was not like Professor Snape at all. The blonde tried to shift out of his grasp, but soon enough his Head of house was shutting hte doors leaving him, free to do whatever he liked. And Draco, was sensing something was terribly off.
“….Busy?” he softly hissed.
Tilting his head, he took a step towards Severus Snape, his authoritarian in almost every fashion and sternly locked his gaze at the man.
“You are acting strange Professor Snape.” His word trailing of in a soft whisper. “What is going on, and why are you acting like this? Has something happened to my parents?!”
Cocking his head slightly to listen for any screams from the main hall, Severus glanced almost dismissively at the tall boy…almost a man now…standing before him, before brushing past him, his black cloak swirling around his feet, “Nothing has happened to your parents, Draco…they are fine,”
Taking a deeply engraved crystal liquor bottle from the side board, he almost carelessly poured the amber firewhiskey into two tumblers. Turning to Draco, he offered the slightly less full one to the boy, before draining his own glass.
Ordinarily, Severus would not drink while he was in the presence of Voldemort…his ability to occlude the Dark Lord relied on his sobriety…but he felt he could afford one drink…he’d never felt more sober in his life. His dark gaze fell to Draco again…the boy had no idea what sort of danger he was in…things had been put into motion that were out of his control, and the only thing he could do was to try and protect Draco as much as possible, “I think you should go back to Hogwarts…your parents will be busy for the rest of the night, so there is really no reason for you to be here,”
The young blonde man drew away. Watching his head of house fumble for actual alcohol before his very eyes really made him uneasy. Had the situation been different, had Severus been someone his own age he readily would have accepted, but this was all too bizarre.
He was preventing him to enter his own home. Probably with reason. He knew that he, like his father had the dark mark branded into his arm. Showing it all too readily for everyone to know. Even at school if someone asked. Never otherwise. In fairness, his father had told him as well. When he was younger. Though, Severus would never let his parents perish. So he took his words for it. Even if he was filled with doubt. He knew Severus would hex him if necessary to keep him safe.
“-Thank you Severus” despite the polite tone, his hands clenched tightly. Knuckles turned a paler white than before. Clearly he wanted to see them, be with them , make sure they were alive and well.Plus, there was always more than one way in…..
“- Are you going to stay here tonight? Or are you heading back as well?” a fairly innocent question, but it was late already and he was trying to discern the severity of what was going on behind those closed doors that Severus guarded all too intensely.
Severus looked at Draco for a long, silent minute before carefully placing the glass back on the mantle. The younger wizard was so transparent as to be laughable under other circumstances...one didn’t need to be a Legilimens to know that he was trying to fish for more information. He could understand it though...Draco loved his parents, and despite Severus’s own horrific upbringing, he knew that both Lucius and Narcissa loved their son more than life itself.
Turning back towards him, Severus spoke calmly, “The Dark Lord wishes I remain here with your parents. He does not want to be disturbed, Draco, and it would be....wise to heed the Dark Lord’s wishes,” Glancing at the door again, hearing a distant howl from the large hall deeper in the house, “I will be returning to Hogwarts later, but not for many hours.”
"Tell me all that I should know."
Severus looked up from the book he had been reading, “Pray tell, Aurora, what is it that I could possibly know that you would want to know?”
"You and I both know she never loved or cared for you, Severus. Move on."
Severus looked at the woman across the table from him briefly before draining his glass of firewhiskey. Finally he looked at her, his eyes unreadable, “Coming from someone with a past such as yours, I hardly think you are the best judge of whether or not she had feelings for me”
Kly’tem chortled as she ran her finger along the lip of her cup of brandy and earl grey, mostly brandy. “Just because I got around doesn’t mean I can’t recognize it. When you’re forced to relive your life over and over again for fourteen years, you tend to pick up a few things like what love looks like,” she explained with a sly smirk.
“She’d been looking for an excuse to ditch you ever since that idiot Gryffindor started chasing her coattails. You calling her ‘mudblood’ gave her the excuse she needed. Do you honestly think an actual friend would burn their bridges because of one silly slip up? And after an apology?” she inquired.
His black eyes flashed briefly before he looked down to his now empty glass. As schooled as Severus was in keeping his true feelings hidden, he didn’t trust himself when the woman sitting opposite him mentioned Lily....the one warm memory in a life that was devoid of love.
Taking a deep breath, he motioned to the bartender for another firewhiskey. He glanced at Kly’tem, his voice low, “You know nothing of her...you have no business in judging either Lily or myself,”
I intend to overdose on sexy. I don’t even care if I’ve posted these a zillion times. Sexy. Assed. Motherfucker.

No one should be judged for loving more than they ought, only for loving not enough.
Severus looked up from his book when he heard the whisper from the darkened corner of the library. Raising his wand, he muttered “Lumos,” seeking the one who spoke the truth closest to his heart, “Who is there?”
Severus looked at the parchment for what seemed the fiftieth time that evening. Cursing under his breath, he stalked across to his desk, sitting down heavily, rubbing his neck, feeling the heat from the remains of Nagini’s bite. It had been over a year since that fateful night in the boat house, and the ache never really went away.
A wedding, for Merlin’s sake...why on earth would Potter invite him to his wedding? And of course..it would have to be the Weasley girl that he was marrying....Severus scowled...Gods. Of course, he could refuse to go....make up some excuse not to attend...but he also knew that Minerva had been invited..and he would never hear the end of it if he didn’t go.
Suddenly, the past was rushing up to meet him...unwanted and unprepared for. Severus knew that the remaining members of the Order would be there...including Black. Sighing softly, he closed his eyes...he could really live without seeing that man again...but it seemed life had another plan in mind.
"I have to know, I have to or else you will just rule me until the end of everything because you know and I do not."
Shutting the door behind them, Severus leaned up against it, hearing the cacophony outside, “Trust me, you are better off not knowing,”

Bad luck relies on absolutely perfect timing. [[ From Penny ]]
Severus looked at the girl disdainfully, “And what exactly is that supposed to mean?”
Penelope and Severus weren’t exactly what one would call best buddies. But of all the staff at Hogwarts, he and Minerva was certainly the ones she thought as the most resourceful, and sane. So now, as she was invading his office, probably much to his dismay. She would describe her day.
“Well you see, as I left my house today, I had misplaced my bag. It took me an extra 5 minutes to find, so I was running late. Upon heading outside, I was met with a hailstorm, that was local, and just begun as I stepped outside. Once on my way, a man hexes my good hat…!”
She pulled her now, quite ruined hat up from a pocket, with a slight pout and exasperated sigh.
“Then, as I arrive, Hagrid didn’t see where he was going and ended up topping a bucket of water over me, on my way in, I just so happened to time it so Gilderoy Lockheart saw me enter, and I had to distract him by saying I though I heard a student ask for his autograph to get here. Had I been 5 minutes earlier, I would have missed the storm, I wouldn’t have bumped into the man who hexed my hat, Hagrid would have been somewhere else, and Gilderoy would have been in class. So….as this day is quite interesting for considering luck. Here are the ingredients that Dumbledore had me get for you, I do not know why…..When I asked he diverged the topic onto candy.”
She swiftly opened her bag and took out 3 bottles, one contained a venom and was marked as such. Another contained eyes, and the third appeared to be some sort of gleaming feathers, reminiscent of peacocks in their iridescent quality.
“And if Professor Lockheart knocks, I am not here, nor was I ever here….”
The soaked redhead, looked positively flustered about her day, and was perhaps, a bit intense at the moment, but she meant well.
“I hope your day has fared better than mine.”
Severus’s lips twitched as she regaled him of her day. An unaccustomed feeling of laughter fought it’s way through his chest at he regarded the frazzled witch in front of him. Drawing on all his resources learned while under the gaze of Voldemort, Severus cleared his throat, schooling his expression to be almost bored by her rant, “Well, thank you Penelope...I appreciate the effort taken to bring these...items to my office,” Glancing at the bottles on his desk, his long fingers traced over each of them, “But I am at a loss as to why you have taken it upon yourself to go through so much to bring these to me today,” He looked up at her, struck again by the hue of her hair...so much like another red head he once knew, “Why, in Merlin’s name, did you bring these here?”

You’re lonely too. ~ malfoy-matriarch
Distracted, Severus looked up from his book…he had settled next to the fire while Narcissa had freshened up after arriving on his doorstep. He’d heard what she’d murmured…he wasn’t prepared to admit it though, “Pardon, Narcissa? I’m afraid I was somewhat immersed in my book,”
She had made her way down the stairs barefoot and dressed in a robe she had found upstairs. The floor was cold but she didn’t mind; its cold persistent presence soothed. Just like Severus.
‘‘I said you’re lonely too.’’
He looked at her levelly for a moment, his face expressionless, his eyes dark, the only thing of animation, “I think there are many that are lonely...war tends to do that to people,”
"Why did you take me here?"
Severus glanced up, his attention torn between the girl asking him the question, and the shouting in the distance, making him uneasy... a feeling he was not accustomed to, or enjoyed, “Your presence here is problematic....do you wish the Dark Lord to tear you limb from limb...should I leave you at his mercy?”
