WHERE ARE THEY NOW? Bad Girls Club, Season 1

Remember the amazing ladies that kicked off an era of drama? Remember when episodes were only 20 minutes long, and the season seemed endless? Well, here’s what the ladies are up to now:

Aimee Landi

Now a “roadie” working shows like Chris Brown, Gavin DeGraw, and Billy Joel. Traveling the country, and still reminiscing her bad girl days. Still friends with Ty from her season. Also, her mom has cancer, so please check out and donate to her GoFundMe page.

Jodie Howell

Jodie is dating a guy named Brian, who has a picture of himself and her breasts (head cut out) as his facebook profile pic. This guy is all over her social media, and also he has a son. They both live in Maryland but have recently vacationed in NYC. Jodie currently works as in occupational health sales for a medical/hospital company.

Kerry Harvick

Kerry is a happy mom and an owner at Central Texas Realty Mart. She lives in Comanche, Texas. Unfortunately, her music career does not appear to have been successful, with the last noteworthy single released in 2007, a year after her stint on BGC.

Zara Sprankle

Surprisingly, Zara is also a happy mom! She has a beautiful son and daughter. If memory serves me correctly, she is still with the long term boyfriend from her season, and he appears to be the father of her children. I think the guy in the picture is him, but you can judge for yourself…

Leslie Ramsue

Leslie lives in Georgia and is a realtor and financial adviser. She is very religious and passionately against racism and police brutality.

Hripsime “Ripsi” Terzian

Unfortunately Ripsi is nearly nonexistent on social media. In 2009 she is recorded as being arrested for driving under the influence, without a license, and with drug possession (Seroquel). She was found passed out in the driver’s seat of a running car. Wherever she is, I hope that Ripsi is well. That girl basically MADE Bad Girls Club. If anyone has any info on her, let me know.

Update: I’ve received gossip that Ripsi is well and working at a dental office, possibly near Boston. She wants nothing to do with BGC.

Tyla “Ty” Colliers

Ty is a mother, a biker chick, and a horseback rider. Since being on bad girls club she has worked in the sex industry and has attempted to write a memoir. She’s continued with her troubled past, getting arrested for disorderly conduct and possibly a few others.

Joanna “JoJo” Hernandez

After appearing as a replacement on BGC, JoJo went on to some bigger and better things… she won season one of For the Love of Ray J! Her nickname was Cocktail, but I guess things with Ray didn’t work out. She’s currently living in Las Vegas and modeling.

Andrea Laing

Here’s another replacement making it big(ger)! We barely remember her from BGC1, but this lady has been hitting the box office like crazy. She’s appeared in countless films and shows, including some coming out in 2016. The only appearance I recognize is an episode of Teen Wolf, but you can check her out for yourself on IMDb.

DeAnn Witt

This country baddie lives in McKinney, Texas where she manages an apartment complex. She’s all about her job and has received tons of apartment management related awards. She’s been dating the man she is with for about 9 years now, and apparently he’s had a “crazy ex” the whole time. Also, her son from the show is all grow up (a teen)! Aww

If you have any more info or any corrections, let me know!

Our girl, Jodie! Heyyyyyyy!

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (S01E08) Chapter Eight: The Burial

Airdate: October 26, 2018 @netflix

Ratings: It’s Spooky, but Netflix doesn’t front

Score: 8/10 @spotlightsaga @CulturePit

**************SPOILER FREE*************

Sabrina Spellman can’t help but fall just a little further down the literal and proverbial rabbit hole with each passing episode. After all, darkness is surprisingly easy and extremely alluring... Who wouldn’t fall prey to the ploys of senior witches, warlocks, and demons to force their mark to turn to the dark side for help? If you got it, flaunt it! While it’s true that at times the new series does drag in its longer than average runtime, more often than not it’s still devilishly entertaining. Leading up to its outrageous final episodes in Part 1 of the Netflix Original, the narrative begins it’s own show of fireworks, shooting cannons and firing from all cylinders in a way that’s unparalleled to the genre.

It’s just that we’ve never quite seen Sabrina, her various incantations and family, or even the comics her story is framed after go as dark as we’ve seen Netflix push the limits with the ‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’. Guess someone got the memo that ‘Pretty Little Liars’, ‘Teen Wolf’, and the successful like left a massive black hole in the hearts and fans of Streaming and Cable Television. Honestly though, none of those series have ever been this good. ‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’ makes sure that they flirt with the boundaries those other shows could only dream of reaching.

The cast reeks of a CW Series gone Award-Winning, a feat very few have realized. Michelle Gomez of ‘Doctor Who’ fame, leads the balanced cast in showing the entire crew just how “good gone really, really bad” is done on-screen. A character that most will tie to the girl who once played the infamous front-woman in famed Nickelodeon Original ‘Clarissa Explains it All’, is now played by the fresh & hungry face of Kiernan Shipka (Fued, Mad Men). As blonde, wide eyed Sabrina Spellman, she must draw from the most evil of forces to save the ones she loves.

Sabrina may be the heroine here, but she’s far from perfect and very much a 16-year old girl who can’t help but to act off her emotions... An extremely unnerving, but believable quality. Without Sabrina making infuriating decisions, we wouldn’t have such an entertaining final product. That’s not to say that the characters are typically dumb or anything like Callie from ‘The Fosters’, justifying their irrational behavior last second. Quite the opposite, really... Sure, some may carry the defective teenager gene, but there are plenty of others that know how hard and when to push. All seem to either know exactly when to strike or at least have the gumption it takes to dig deep when situation or spell may call for it.

For weeks after it’s release, one of our little ones couldn’t help but still call the series ‘Sabrina, the Teenage Witch’. They’d never seen the show that came before it, but I suppose we’d referenced it and the comic so much, they could practically envision it. That’s our fault as the gatekeepers introducing a familiar story to another generation. Perhaps we’ve become so jaded by bad remakes and Hollywood revisions, we forget to let things live and breathe as their own. ‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’ proves that even the most remarkable transformations of a beloved tale can still be heralded to a whole new set of fans, young and old.

As a starry-eyed girl who felt like I was growing up just out of reach of meaningful, iconic explosions of counterculture, I’ve devotedly longed for a possible reemergence of a modern nightlife that held all that fiery wonder of decades past. Its as if I’m always chasing that special pack of unexpected tight knit outsiders with a lust for life and time to burn. This past Saturday night, I made my way to the ‘VIDIUM x PARTYWITCH’s ‘FACE 2 FACE’ dungeon show. What was waiting for me was much more than just the event I had selected to attend. A smorgasbord of galleries, small themed events, and chatty vendors awaited my arrival. It was a virtual playground with the beginnings of everything I ever wanted from Miami’s nightlife. I got the sense that I had finally found what I’ve been searching the Magic City’s neon soaked, pastel streets for... A place to call home.

This time around the energy feels remarkably distinct while still remaining objectively familiar. The potential for a perfect storm is in our midst... A perfect storm of all-inclusive acceptance from individuals committed to fostering the longevity and growth of an emerging renaissance. This is far from a regular party or show that’s made its way onto Miami’s famed Club Row on 11th Street or along a tourist & hipster filled street in Wynwood. It’s an electrifying feeling to be able to take a step back, look at the big picture, the sum of its parts, and just take it all in. That’s what’s being offered here on Flagler Street and that’s what makes an event & conglomeration of this nature so damn special.

There was so much to explore and take in here. As I made my way through the skeleton of Downtown’s ‘777 International Mall’, I set out to discover what the newly named ‘Mana Contemporary Miami’ building now has to offer. Looking up at the well preserved, azure blue ‘777’ sign, I had flashes of nostalgia and memories I had made in the building when I was just a child. I felt the exact same excitement and giddy nature I would experience with my grandmother as a child. We’d dash through the mall, hurrying to make our way to the fabric store... Always in anticipation for what we may find next. That’s exactly how I felt now in the same exact building!

After hours of frivolously exploring each floor & enthusiastically interacting with every art dealer, vendor, and patron at every turn, it’s more than fair to say that this renaissance is in full swing right here in the heart of Downtown Miami. This multidisciplinary arts center has reinvented the once abandoned spaces with a wide variety of demonstrative and interactive installments, giving you the green light to pick at an artists brain and make lasting connections with friends, old and new alike.

Kink Kulture, BDSM, Rave, Drag, Transformative Media, among many others were alive and well this past Saturday night. Historically, these groups lose steam, eventually fizzling out with age. Much like Saoirse Ronan’s character in ‘Lady Bird’ many of us “grew up,” dropped the persona, and became “Catherine’s” in the late 90s to early 2000s. Fortunately there are people like ‘Rat Bastard’ & ‘Otto Von Schirach’ (amongst others) who continue to provide substance & flare to the existing countercultures and refuse to let that special part of them take the back burner. It’s these avant-garde type innovating figures that provide encouragement and inspiration, fostering both change & stirring, new artists... All while melting dance floor junkie’s egos away with filthy experimental dance sets. Can’t beat that.

The realization that the goal of these diverse group of creatives is the furthest thing from an unrelenting rat race brings a much needed sense of calm to all the anxious artist types looking to create something new. Just knowing we are in this together and supporting one another is exactly what is going to continue to make this brave new world thrive. The ‘FACE 2 FACE’ event itself was a blast. However, the real magic and fervor of this auspicious subcultural renaissance lies within the framework of ‘777 International Mall’ and has to be seen to be believed.

NXT UK (S01E01) October 17, 2018

Welcome to Cambridge, wrestling fans! The UK has finally got their well deserved WWE brand. Indie fans might not rejoice that fact... But I certainly do! Anywhere I can see Dave Mastiff, The Coffey Brothers, and finally... Toni Storm on a global stage, I’m there and oh, so fn happy! No sign of Piper Niven (aka Vyper or Viper) quite yet, but it will be such an explosive moment when that finally happens.

The show? Not quite on par with NXT in Orlando quite yet, but still well worth the watch. The style of wrestling, the venue, the wrestlers themselves... They all have the ability to rival that of what’s going on in Orlando. In due time, people... This is only the first episode! Time will see this brand grow into something special; I just know it!

Joe Coffey vs Mark Andrews -

An apt match to start off the brand! The Coffey Brothers are going to be something special in the WWE and that’s certainly on display here.

Mustache Mountain -

These dudes are over wherever they go... But they are God’s among men here in Cambridge. They lay down a promo letting us know NXT UK is here to make history... And so are they.

Dave Mastiff vs Sid Scala -

What’s a wrestling show without a fun squash match? You just can’t have a proper show without one. Dave Mastiff is a massive man, but he’s also extremely agile. This is man who would look believable throwing down with the likes of Braun Strowman. The release German suplex this man throws looks way too easy. Give this man all your money, WWE!

Toni Storm vs Nina Samuels -

No one in the Women’s Division has the skill and support that Toni has... Definitely not Nina Samuels. Shouldn’t have slapped her, Nina!

Noam Dar vs Pete Dunne -

The Bruiserweight Pete Dunne is an absolute joy to watch in the ring. Dar has been shelved from his normal home of 205 Live due to an injury and that can definitely be seen. Honestly, all of the guys on 205 Live deserve more Spotlight & Dar is no exception. For the past several weeks, we’ve seen Dunne put on 4-5 star matches in Orlando at NXT and the bar has been set high for Dar to keep up. If we weren’t already aware of his injury, no one would have ever known by the way Dar made the ring look like his home. Overall, this is a great match for the UK brand to wave goodbye on... And a great way for Dar to be reintroduced to the WWE Universe.
