y’all just don’t like ddadds because there were bi/pan characters (mat is bi, craig is bi, joseph is pan [confirmed in the comics]), trans character(s) (damien and dadsona if you choose), plus damien, A CANON TRANS MAN, was voiced by a TRANS MAN rather than a cis woman like most games (and a few movies), characters of color (mat, hugo, craig and their families, plus pablo) and the “cult ending” (which MOST dating sims have or have something similar to! y’all never talk shit about that one dating sim where one of the characters LITERALLY COMMITS GENOCIDE but fucking go off about dream daddy where the ending isn’t even canon)

not to be emo on main but the reason Steve Harrington has such an amazing arc is because he, arguably, doesn’t gain much from becoming a better person. he loses his friend group. ends up picking up a bat to fight a monster because nancy and jonathan are in danger. and when he gets dumped? well, might as well help this random kid that i sort of know fight another monster. oh, there’s a secret base? let me get tortured so my friends don’t. when he and the others escape the mall, it’s Steve who leads the charge from weathertop and goes back to save his ex girlfriend and her new boyfriend and helps fight a massive monster solely because it’s the right thing to do. homeboy risks his life over and over for a group of kids and doesn’t expect anything in return. like at all. he doesn’t get the girl, he certainly loses his job, and he regularly gets the crap beaten out of him. but he does it anyway.

remember when jared leto absolutely terrorized his suicide squad castmates and turned himself into a laughing stock bc he misinterpreted what method acting is, only to have 7 minutes of screen time and be cut from most of the film’s promotional material? i know it was a while ago now but i dnt think anything more satisfying will happen in our lifetime

ok but the full extent of margot robbie’s vindication is frankly legendary. she wanted a better chance to relish her role as Harley so, like an absolute icon, she went to warner brothers and pitched a movie to then. now we’re getting an r rated girl gang movie about harley getting out of her shitty relationship w/ joker and going on a chaotic ass roadtrip with a bunch of other female heroes. it’s going to be the first superhero movie directed by a woman of color and there are multiple major characters of color, including a Latina lesbian. can you believe margot robbie obliterated jared leto’s tired ass joker with one fell swoop?

and two really important updates: 1. all planned future appearances of Jared Leto as the joker (Joker solo movie, Joker/Harley movie, etc) have been indefinitely tabled, including his planned appearances in the Suicide Squad sequel, where he’s pretty much the only cast member of the first movie not returning 2. The Joker is confirmed to have a cameo in Margot’s Birds of Prey movie (likely for the scene where she leaves him). They’ve opted to use a body double for the part rather than inviting Leto to reprise his role
