ONE RUNG ABOVE https://tfnation.com/blog/2023/one-rung-above Some of the most impactful comics featuring our favourite transforming robots have come from UK creators – as the biggest European convention, set in the UK, can we really not bring as many as we can to TFNation 2023? Please join us in welcoming back writer and commentator, James Roberts! Roberts has been part of the UK Transformers scene since the early days of organised fandom. He joined the IDW stables with co-writer Nick Roche and All Hail Megatron, spinning into the fan-favourite Last Stand of the Wreckers in 2010. Since then, he has been the main architect behind More than Meets the Eye, Lost Light, and numerous single issues and stories in the long running pre-2019 IDW narrative universe. James Roberts will be joining us for TFNation 2023, soaking up tears that still haven’t dried, and telling you just how political the body electric is. THE ONLY LOGICAL VOICE https://tfnation.com/blog/2023/the-only-logical-voice You’re in for a real deep treat with TFNation 2023, as our next voice actor is locked in and loaded: please join us in welcoming the one and only David Sobolov to Birmingham next summer! Sobolov’s voice has accompanied the childhoods of many Transformers fans ever since Beast Wars, in which he played Depth Charge, and later Transformers: Prime, where he voiced the one-eyed purple scientist, Shockwave. That’s not all, of course, as you will also have heard him voice Blitzwing in the successful Bumblebee movie! In the summer of 2023, just in time for TFNation, Sobolov will be returning to the big screen in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts where he will be portraying the Maximal Rhinox and yet another Bumblebee-hating antagonist: Battletrap! David Sobolov will be joining us for TFNation 2023, making your spines tremble with his deep octaves. Stay tuned for more details on the TFNation website -- where All Are One!

TFNation 2023 is on the horizon, and it would not be a UK Transformers convention without colourist, writer, and one-man-comic-machine: John-Paul Bove! https://tfnation.com/blog/2023/signed-sealed-delivered Bove has been busy with Transformers comics since the Mosaics fan project, as both writer and colourist. His colouring work can be found in the likes of IDW Publishing’s ReGeneration One, Drift – Empire of Stone, and most recently, Shattered Glass –  he was also in charge of recolouring all the UK strips for the Definitive G1 Collection for Hachette as well as being one of the artists involved in creating the Royal Mail Transformers postage stamps. John-Paul Bove will be joining us for TFNation 2023, stamping his seal of approval on all your colouring needs. Stay tuned for more details on the TFNation website -- where All Are One!

Hi! I wanted to ask about volunteering; I always wanted to volunteer for TFN but never found the chance, being in a big group, but this year I'm alone so maybe I could give it a chance! But I don't know much about it, so maybe if there is a manual/FAQs or if I could ask someone about stuff (like duties, hours/days, accommodations etc) it would help me very much! (๑◠ᴗ◠๑)

Hey! Sorry about this, we think this might be an old message we missed.  This year’s physical event isn’t proceeding but we’ll be running a Streamed event instead. We’ll put some volunteer info up for next year closer to the time :)

THE MAN BEHIND THE -ATION!  https://tfnation.com/blog/2019/The%20Man%20Behind%20the%20-Ation TFNation 2019 has a bit of a big name to announce, hailing from Taiwan and the artistic world of the Transformers, and another UK first appearance: Transformers comics and packaging artist E.J. Su!

Anyone who had been following the IDW comics prior to the current reboot will remember Su's work on the very first issues of Infiltration, through Escalation, Devastation, Revelation, a handful of Spotlights, via All Hail Megatron - reaching all the way to Phase 2's The Transformers and Lost Light for a final couple of pages before the universe ended. Currently an industrial designer, his work can also be seen on some of the covers for The Transformers: The IDW Collection. Outside of the Transformers universe, Su is credited with the co-creation alongside Robert Kirkman, of Tech Jacket for Image Comics, and was the main artist for three issues of the Devil's Due Press G.I. Joe vs The Transformers II short series.

If comics are not your thing, however, you may still recognise his art from some of the biggest hitters in the Transformers: Armada toyline: from Optimus Prime to Hot Shot, from Megatron to High Wire, most of the major players in the series' line-up were in his capable hands - and probably part of the reason for purchasing the toys themselves!

E.J. Su will be attending the convention all weekend, talking about his experience with the birth of a narrative universe and art skills, and hopefully creating new art too! We look forward to welcoming him and all of you to TFNation 2019. Stay tuned for more updates!

THIS IS THE CAPTAIN SPEAKING!

In his first Transformers convention appearance on our shores, TFNation is proud to announce another voice actor for 2019: Brian Drummond, voice of Transformers Beast Machines Jetstorm!

One of the major players in the series, Jetstorm is but one of the many characters that Drummond has lent his talents to, for our robot friends' age-spanning media franchise. His credits list features the likes of Armada Blurr, Energon Shockblast, and Cybertron Jetfire and Jolt, starring in the entire Unicron trilogy.

Outside of Transformers media, he is most famous for anime dubs such as: Dragon Ball Z (as the Saiyan prince Vegeta); Death Note (death god Ryuk), several Mobile Suit Gundam series characters; Black Lagoon (as Benny); and many others beyond. In Western animation, his voice can be found in several Lego media franchises like Bionicle, Ninjago, Nexo Nights and Star Wars; alongside Barbie, Bratz, My Little Pony, Hot Wheels, Littlest Pet Shop, and The Little Prince, to name a few.

Brian Drummond will be attending the convention all weekend, talking about his work in the voice acting industry, making pop-culture references (in and out of character), and chatting to fans. We look forward to welcoming him and all of you to TFNation 2019. Stay tuned for more updates!

ENTER THE KING

https://www.tfnation.com/blog/2019/Enter%20the%20King Don't worry - we're not leaving you alone this holiday season. After our first announcement, TFNation 2019 brings you another voice actor and fandom favourite for this summer's convention: voice of Grimlock, Gregg Berger!

Best known in the Transformers fandom for the original leader of the Dinobots, Berger has reprised the role in the Devastation video game, and more recently in the Machinima Power of the Primes web series. Beyond Grimlock, he has also been the voice of Skyfire (Jetfire), Long Haul, and several others across the franchise's media span. You may also remember him as multiple characters and voices from sibling series to the Transformers - G.I. Joe. Berger's voice can also be heard across the 1980s, 90s, and 00s cartoon series in the likes of Garfield (as Odie), Rugrats, The Angry Beavers, Men in Black, Duckman, Johnny Bravo, Batman Beyond, and Spider-Man, among many, many others. As for video games, he is best known for the Final Fantasy role of Jecht, Eeyore from Kingdom Hearts, and Hunter the Cheetah in the Spyro series. Just when you thought it was safe to visit our guest page… https://bit.ly/2R4YWxA

We’re back! You may be wondering what updates we have for the next edition of Europe’s largest Transformers fan-convention, coming up this August in Birmingham – and we’re here to deliver, straight from the haiku-ridden shores of the State of New York: the man behind the shark, Peter Spellos, will be attending TFNation 2019!

Peter is best known in the Transformers fandom for his role in the 2001 Car Robots / Robots in Disguise animated series as the Predacon general Sky-Byte, fond of poetry and held dearly in the franchise. He is also extremely well received by the fan community as a facilitator of comedy, acting, and improvisation workshops, and has attended several conventions across the USA and Europe.

You may also recognise his voice acting skills from franchises such as Digimon, Gurren Lagann, Naruto, Bleach, Code Geass, Ghost in the Shell, Trigun, and Street Fighter II – and the man himself from screen appearances in TV series and movies the likes of In The Army Now, Men in Black II, The New Adventures Of Superman, Perry Mason, NYPD Blue, and A Nightmare On Elm Street VI, among many others.

Peter Spellos will be attending the convention all weekend.  He will also be taking centre stage for a certain special improvised… something… more details on that soon!

We look forward to welcoming Peter and all of you to TFNation 2019, as more updates are released from here until August!

Conventions are brilliant places to meet new friends, but the wait between them can be painful. Why wait until 2019, when you can meet new friends all year round?

Enter, TFNation: The Gathering. A new selection of social meetups which we will be rolling out over the coming year. Paying homage to the fandom's rich history of social get-togethers, these Gatherings will be free to attend events, where friends new and old can meet and socialise. They are a great way to bridge the gap between conventions, but also act as a first step for those wanting to meet like-minded fans before taking their first convention plunge!

Our first Gathering will take place on Saturday 6th October 2018, in London, England. Our base of operations will be the Penderel's Oak Weatherspoon in the Holborn area. You'll be sure to see us upon entering, but if in any doubt, just ask staff to direct you to the area reserved for the TFNation group.

If London is a little too far for you to travel, please feel free to send us your recommended locations for future Gatherings!
