#wow my eld got a lot more attention than i thought she would😭thank u..#my concept of her so far is shes kind of like a ranger#who specializes in dealing with magic where it shouldnt be#the sword shes wielding was possibly confiscated from someone with ulterior motives#she generally tries to do good#she tends to frighten people by accident#she was in fact born in a cave and its part of the reason she has to wear a mask above ground#sensitive to the drier air and allergy triggers = constant sneezing/nosebleeds#it inadvertently makes her look like a bandit. very startling to come across her in the middle of nowhere#along with her Bad Vibes sword#and her expression hardly ever changes she is Big Eyes all the time. extremely aware of her surroundings#i have some tentative names for her but not tagging them until im certain

Perhaps an Enhydriodon? They lived around 2-6 mya and were pretty big (like tall or taller than an average human when standing)
ur good LOL but yea i thought about him being an enhydriodon! maybe he could just be a strictly marine offshoot of one, i just dont know if there are any known Big Otters that fit that description
there are also enhydritheriums which i think are more aquatic than enhydrodions, but they are described as living in both saltwater and freshwater and my otter is only an oceanic fellow
i think its just easier for me to make up a species since im not aiming for complete accuracy of any real extinct otters LOL
ough im thinking about my Otter
since i have an interest in making characters from extinct ice-age era species i may make him a fake species of sea otter! whom absurdly larger than extant sea otters! which is why hes so fucking big
#giant sea otters........#there are actual giant extinct otters like enhydriodons#the thing is most extinct giant otters seem to be largely terrestrial or freshwtr & id like him to functionally be a sea otter But Bigger#(ignore how he technically is terrestrial given he is a Man Who Walks i wanna make a feral version OK)#regardless i may make some funny changes to him to reflect a distinct species#is it anachronistic to build a world of extant species living alongside their fossil relatives PROBABLY but that wont stop me#i want giant beaver in my life. i want smilos in my life. i want mastodon in my life. i want megalodon in my life.
