Fabulous, congrats! Ana V.

Just wanted to say that I consider my “Sharon Carter Appreciation Month” contribution this year to be my final paper/undergraduate thesis/whatheverthefuckyoucallit about fandom’s visual culture, since I’ve talked about Sharon Carter related fanart :D

lol half serious and half kidding

I wanted to answer this “Anon Ask” sent by one of my dearest professor, when she visited this blog as I was just starting the research process (about 9 months ago), with and huge and sincere thank you to all the amazing people I’ve met over these past years in here.

I never ever thought something I started out “just for fun”, and out “of lack of better thing to do” would become this.

But you guys taught what fandom is about, and how these experiences aren’t meaningless at all. From the loving and heated discussions about characters and plot lines from comic books and movies; to our daily challenges, struggles and achievements in our personal lives.

It’s about sharing knowledge and affection – beyond fictional heroes, histories and images; and I’m eternally grateful for everyone who helped me realize that.

Muito obrigada!!

happy birthday @wolfbarnes

It’s 1963, and Sharon Carter only wants to pave her way through the CIA, just as her aunt Peggy did. Her coworkers never take her seriously, despite her uncanny marksmanship and high intellect. Back home in her Virginian neighborhood, Sharon spends hours at her dining table, pouring over old, unsolved case files and studying ways to outwit her coworkers. One night, she glances up and finds a gorgeous redhead moving into the house opposite hers. With an infectious laugh and a quick wit, Natasha Romanoff soon proves to be enough of a distraction for Sharon and her work at the CIA. Still, it’s the heart of the Cold War, and Sharon can’t ignored her neighbor and possible lover’s odd Russian tinge in her accent and constant paranoia.

The Helpful Neighbor - a Steve/Sharon ficlet

Steve Rogers/Sharon Carter, 1175 words, PG.  While undercover as the nice nurse next door, Sharon does her best to help Steve through life’s everyday challenges.

I wrote this all the way back in April when I was trying to get back into writing, and then promptly forgot it was sitting there.  Then I remembered it was Buckynat/Staron Positivity Month, and thought “Hey, I should post that thing.”

can someone please give me the receipts on the whole “Sharon Carter is racist trash who treated Riri Williams badly” thing that’s coming from the antis lately? I need to know if there’s any truth to this and Sharon is #canceled, or if the antis are just blowing shit up as usual

In addition to my other two cents on this, I’m going to point out that in another Bendis title, Jessica Jones, he has Sharon lock Jessica up for obstructing justice/making fun of Sharon’s hair. Also, Bendis writes Sharon arresting Dr Doom and holding him on the Helicarrier despite Ben warning her against it, but she tells him all the precautions she took - which might have worked, but naturally don’t, because Bendis needs Doom to escape. This is a “Bendis-needs-a-bad-guy-and-is-using-a-character-who’s-never-been-like-this-before” problem, not a “Sharon-is-a-racist” problem. She’s actually shown working with Riri/trying to get Riri to work with them more than she is with Jessica.

In conclusion, surprise - antis are stupid and reaching and trying to turn people against Sharon based on stuff that isn’t true.

tbh it’s been quite some time I have pretty much given up following M@rvel related things, though I know what issue you/they’re referring to and the criticism of Bendis writing involving Sharon - however my reading of it is only the specific pages posted, and not of the whole issue/story line.

The most I can be of use is to link you to the comics

Wish I could speak with more propriety on this matter, but I can’t - sorry.

Staron hospital AU where Steve’s a boft pediatric surgeon and Sharon’s a badass ER doc, they have a weird rivalry that’s basically THE definition of being snarky to someone because you like them and don’t know what to do with your feelings (Sharon definitely started it though). “Doctor Rogers saved a preemie baby today!! It was a really difficult surgery we didn’t think she would make it!!” “Oh really Martha??? Did he pull a pole out of a guy’s stomach two hours ago??? I didn’t think so!

Dear Sarah and James,

Your mother and I just came back from our obstetrician with some very exciting news. We thought we’d be meeting only one of you in about 30 weeks’ time. We’ve just discovered that we get to meet you both.

My heart is so full that I’ve found myself at a loss for words. And maybe by the time you’re old enough to read this, you’ll know just how remarkable that is.

But for right now, as I begin to find my words again, I want to write them down for you… here, in this journal. With pen and paper. My plan is to hold on to this until you’re both eighteen. I want you to have this record… of your mom’s pregnancy, of your early childhood, and of who we are right now. Time is so strange. It’s kind, and it’s brutal. It gives so much, and it takes so much away. I want you to have a record of this point in time. Mostly, it’s so you know just how loved you’ve been from the very beginning of all of this.

-=-=-=-=-

Sharon has twins, and Steve keeps a journal.

——————————

Ooey gooey fluffy heart-warming baby stuff for Steve and Sharon, plus Aunts and Uncles Team Cap.

Special shoutout to @mexicanlaurakinney and @goyaveh for being a part of the conversation that inspired this. More details in the notes.
