So relieved I'm not the only one startled by those images when scrolling & enjoying beautifully made original fanart
So for the first time in over...four years? I bought Harry Potter merch from a store. Just wait.
It came with a little LEGO Snape and it was being sold in a Dollarama (meaning it was super marked down to like $3 and the money was likely no longer going to R*wling but to the corporation). And I was stunned because of ALL the figures this book came with, it came with Snape? Like, do kids nowadays want...a LEGO Snape? A weird but welcome choice. I bought it.
But as I was wandering through the store, flipping through it, I noticed...Snape was on, like, every page.
Every. Page.
And that was when I realized - like Skinner in Ratatouille realizing Linguini is related to Gusteau - the entire book is Where's Waldo with Snape as Waldo.
This is the oddest and best Harry Potter merch I've ever bought in a life where I thought I'd never buy store-Harry Potter merch ever again. All hail the Misadventures of LEGO Snape.
For Mermay, I wanna try my take on mer!snape >< his design is inspired by the betta fish bc their tail really reminds me of his billowing robes and with creative liberty, I added a bit of that green, swampy shine.
I think he'd be on colder, deeper parts of the lake and doesn't really come up to the surface that often. He's very mesmerizing when he swims, his tail often acting as a dark cloak behind him when he's coming towards you. He's so quiet and eerily beautiful aaughh
Billowing cloak translates to flowing, sinuous fins as a merperson....beautiful ❤❤❤❤

This reddit post is gold. It’s strange that only Severus Snape gets called out so much for his behaviour to his students when in reality other Professors also have often behaved in a very objectionable way with their students and got away. Clearly, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry didn't have the healthiest teacher-student norms. We shouldn't turn a blind eye to others’ conduct.
PS : I’m not excusing his behaviour. He was a dick to some students. But if you want to criticize Snape for his behaviour to students, you can, but kindly remember that the other Professors weren’t saints either. Won’t say much further but make sure you go through this canon-supported reddit post entirely and without bias.
