iām sorry to know the contents of the post gave you a panic attack, and that you feel the need to let bts go despite it hurting a lot. i know how it feels - i made this post back when bts was still my bias group. some of their songs still mean a lot to me though, and that will never change, but i wonāt ever be able to hold them to the same high (albeit unfairly so) standard as i did before. iām okay with that now - at least bts have played a part in giving me strength and encouraging me to be a better person. theyāve served their purpose in my life. i hope you can move on from this soon as well. :)

you donāt have to cancel everyone the second they misstep or do something dumb but you also DONāT have to defend everything that your fave does. you can say āhey this particular thing suckedā without getting into this all-or-nothing mentality. you are not an extension of the things you like. you can think freely and criticize the things (and people) that you like, and a criticism of something you like is not something that you should take personally or feel the need to correct/defend.

if seokjin isnāt even allowed to choose his haircut, i doubt bts have much say in who they collab with, so i blame big hit more than bts for that collab. as for the charlie puth thing, my understanding is that the articles calling him out arenāt widely known, and it took a lot of digging into his secret social media accounts to find out he was a white supremacist anyways? correct me if iām wrong, though. lastly, i only know that supreme boi is (was?) close friends with rap line. idk if seokjin and jungkook are close with him.
Man i feel similarly about bts lately but i feel like i got into them way late. A lot of their global initiative projects have been incredibly sus and while its not uncommon for all these musicians to work with one another just because they're high profile it leaves a bad taste knowing that they've been pushed with this UN ambassador, #wokebae identity. I feel like its wrong to fault the boys w any of it, theyre just idols in the end, but the dissonance is a lot to take.
