Ever since rescuing Dabi, taking him under your wings, he’s been nothing but quiet around you and Keigo, your lover. He still carried his bratty attitude, short-tempered personality, the only reason why it was ignored was because of his past and Keigo knew it was a lot on him so he didn’t try to correct it. Dabi, now Touya once more, wanted to meet his siblings again and to have a new chance at life.
“Hey T what exactly are we making again?” you question him while putting on your apron. Touya finished putting his on, then looked at your struggling form, then back at the kitchen, making his way to the refrigerator.
“Soba, something I know my little brother likes”, a small frown of guilt formed on his lips.
“You know that how?” You moves to his side leaning against the counter watching him take out the ingredient. “I thought you didn’t want anything to do with your family,”
Giving you a side glare, he sighs as he places a fresh pack of soba noodles on the counter along with dashi stock, soy sauce, mirin, shallots (scallions), and Wasabi. “I love my family, meaning my mom and siblings but my da- Endeavor I want nothing to do with him. I watched from the sidelines, the shadows of what my siblings were doing, turns out little Sho is doing well with his half and half quirk”, his fist balled up into a tight straining knot to the point his staples pulled his skin. emories surfaced in his mind, memories that he tried to subdue “failure, failure, failed experiment, mistake” it was like his brain enjoyed the high sadistic torture it gave itself, every time the chance was there. Touya looks up to the ceiling swallowing hard, trying to loosen the knot in his throat. “Better than I could ever do......”
“Don’t start that self-degrading thing, you were doing so well....” you reach out rubbing small circular motions on his back, between his shoulder blades. His body tensions up then it relaxes under the touch he knew but never felt much.
“Right, right, sorry” he takes a knife out of its holder sharpening it then begins chopping up the scallions into two fine bits. “Can you boil a pot of water for me, Dollface?”
“Sure”, you move away from his side walking over to the island where the hots and pans hang above. Reaching up, you grab a stockpot and you get quickly corrected by Touya.
“That’s a stockpot, we aren’t making soup here, babes” he smirks looking over his shoulder at you.
“Shut it, staples. I knew that” you put the stockpot back and grab a regular one this time then fill it halfway with water before placing it on the gas-powered stove, setting the burner on H.
“I bought the hair dye, for snow-white, what else did I need to bring?'' Keigo leans against the island counter with folded arms and a chill smirk. Touya's eye twitched at the nickname, which you took notice of.
“Keigo baby, maybe refrain from the nicknames” you cup a hand to the side of your mouth as you whisper, “You know how sensitive he is.”
“And that's why I do it” he laughs as he walks over to Touya’s side wrapping an arm around his shoulders as his other pats his chest. Touya stiffens.
“Don’t you have something else better to do than to annoy me?” he grabs Hawks hand that rests it on his chest, squeezing it roughly while adding a little heat.
“Ah- Ow!” Keigo jerks away from Touya.
“Boys, please don’t kill each other, we have a sibling dinner tonight. We need to start getting ready for. Keigo, go shower and put on something nice. Touya once you’re done go to the guest room you’re staying in and do the same because both of you stink.” They both were dumbfounded by your statement. Keigo complies then walks out of the kitchen to your shared bedroom to get ready for the dinner. Touya sets the dishes aside and he preps then looks at you.
“Can you plate the soba with the noodles once they are done then put the dishes into the fridge so it can stay cold? I need to take a couple of shots before this dinner” he reaches into the cabinet grabbing a bottle of tequila before walking off to his room. You shake your head at his dramatic ways.
A couple of hours passed, the sun that brought light and warmth to the world was tucked away by a blanket of stars catered by the moon. Touya was pacing the whole penthouse trying to calm his nerves, he was dressed in a hoodie and jeans, nothing fancy but something to bring comfort to his trembling state. The hood covered his white hair casting a shadow over his turquoise eyes.
“Touya, sit down please, you’ve been walking around for almost an hour now” you lean on one leg resting your arms over your chest, waiting for a response you wasn’t going to receive Snapping your fingers then pointing back at Touya, Keigo nods walking over to him grabbing his shoulders and forcing him to sit down on the couch.
“Stay here-” Keigo was cut off by the doorbell that sang its sweet brassy lullaby through the penthouse. “There's no rush with introducing yourself back to your siblings” he pats Touya’s shoulders then fixes his hoodie before fixing his own posture walking to the door with you by his side. Keigo lets you open the door because he didn’t feel like doing anything formal.
You open the door to be greeted by three entities of different statues.
“Hello Mrs.Takami,” Fuyumi and Shouto bowed while Natsuo nodded a greeting instead.
“Yo yo, how's it hanging?” Natsuo walks past his siblings and you greet Keigo with a so-called manly hug. Keigo hugs back, patting his back then lets go.
“Nothing much, just ready to eat”
“Natsuo, take off your shoes, it's rude to walk around in this beautiful home with dirty shoes” Fuyumi chastised him.
“Fine fine” he moves away from Hawks's side to the door where he took off his shoes. You guide the rest of the siblings to the kitchen table.
“Mrs.Takami, who is the man over there by the couch?” Shouto points a finger at Touya’s anonymous form. You quickly made up something not wanting to spoil their reunion.
“He’ll come out when he’s ready, he’s a little shy” a nervous laugh escapes your lips. Shouto stares at you for a couple of seconds before resuming to sitting down at the table.
“What a wuss” Natsuo comments while sitting down next to Shouto. Fuyumi’s cheeks turned red from the embarrassment her brother created. “Natsuo!” Fuyumi scolded him.
You and Keigo snicker at the conflicted siblings as you set their glasses down in front of them. “What would you like to drink?” you ask them as you walk over to the refrigerator opening the door.
“Vodka” Natuso yells out. Fuyumi reaches over Shouto then slaps Natsuo on the back of his head.
“We’ll take water” she tells you while adjusting her glasses.
“Quite a vibrant family” Keigo looks over his shoulder at them while making his way over to the couch, noticing Touya’s bouncing leg and hunched over form.
“Hey........you holding up okay?'' Keigo squats down so he could make eye contact with Touya. Touya’s eyes averted from his, he seemed troubled, worried, scared........
“No....what if they don’t accept me but hate me, reject me even?”
“They aren’t gonna do that Touya, now come on, you burnt piece of toast, they need you” he stands back up while taking Touya’s hand forcing him to follow. Touya was quick to tug at the hood of his hoodie making sure his face wasn’t noticeable.
“Why don’t you serve them what you made, T?” he nudges him, “Go on” he pulls Touya into the kitchen.
You look at the two males as they walk by, curious to what they were up to Keigo gives you a little wink, “Babybird” he smiles then continues to pull Touya to the refrigerator. Both males refrained to talk in a quiet tone. Shouto’s eyes squinted as he watched them in silence.
“How do you do this?” he starts taking the prepped plates out of the refrigerator, glancing at Touya as he did so.
“....... you grab the dipping sauces to serve with it” he mumbles under his breath. Keigo sighs as he takes the plates handing them to Touya.
“Come on, you’re serving your siblings”
Touya glances up and over at the kitchen table as he sauntered over to the table, immediately grabbing their attention. Shouto notices the staples and fresh wounds of Touya’s wrists, his heroic instincts kicking in, just as Touya sets down the plates. Shouto grabsTouya’s wrist with his right hand, freezing it on command. All eyes widen as a cold shock fills the room. You look between the two brothers praying everything will be competent. Keigo's face remains neutral but if the truth was to be told, behind that mask he was trained to wear, he was worried, some may say frightened.
“Speak now before I freeze you inside out, Dabi….”Shouto’s heterochromian eyes darkened from the bangs that cast a shadow over them. He was determined to do his duty as the next generation hero. Touya looks down at his frozen hand then back up at his little brother. He could feel the pressure of his siblings and friends gaze upon him like he was trapped under a metal crushing machine. His eyes close as he inhales deeply then exhales through his lips with a light-fuming cloud containing the plug to his built-up anger. “Well…..Dabi?”
“I’m kinda offended, Shouto Todoroki. You don’t recognize me even with this close up ? It’s the scar, isn't it ? Maybe this will help you remember who I am” Touya lightly smirks. He used to smile so much, so vibrantly to the point it would illuminate for everyone to see, but not anymore. Chains held the corner of his lips, forever reminding him of his past and shame, the pressure he built up then carried and dropped on his sibling's shoulders. Nothing but disgrace he brought to his family and to his father.
He takes another deep breath before taking off his hoodie slowly, letting his white hair fluff up from being pulled back from its true form.
“We came off on the wrong foot but I’m hoping you’ll forgive your big brother” his eyes avert to the ground while a nervous insecure smile forms on his lips. Confidence forced him to look back up at his sibling, forced him to make eye contact with each and every last one of them. “I know I don’t look the same, this happens when your body doesn’t agree with your quirk”.
The siblings were speechless. Natsuo even stood up from his chair stumbling back a little while pointing at Touya and holding his head. “T-Touya ? Y-you’re alive? My big brother??? This can't be, he’s dead!”
“The old me is dead, yes…..” Touya comments.
Fuyumi took off her glasses as her eyes watered, trying to process all the information that was passed to her.
You and Keigo look at each other and stay quiet until his phone rings. His eyes widens, body shivers and jolts as he reaches for his phone only to be greeted by the last phone number he wanted to see at that hour. You looked at him with concern, you knew that number too and it wasn’t normal for them to call Keigo. He leans and you whispering that he would be in the living room, then leaves the scene. Your eyes watch Keigo leave before staying quiet to watch the sibling reunion.
Fuyumi stands up and walks over to Touya. She cups his cheek, looking deep within his eyes, “Is it really you?” her voice was barely above a whisper. He leans into her touch “Of course it is sis, who else helped with making dinner when mom needed a break or thought wasabi wasn’t hot but sweet or-” she cuts him off with a bone-crushing hug, not even giving him a chance to finish talking. He pulls away from the hug, slaps him across the face then hugs him once more before letting Natsuo have his chance. Touya's eyes widened from shock, not expecting to be slapped. He holds his stinging cheek as he looks at his second to youngest little brother.
“I should punch you for leaving us, you dumbass”
“It wasn’t my decision to go if I was meant to be rescued” he looks at Natsuo with gentle eyes. Natsuo’s filled with tears he tried to hold back.
“I’ll let it slide this time” he frowns but smiles in the end. Touya’s eyes travel to Shouto’s empty ones, he could tell Shouto didn’t know how to react. For so long his emotions were suppressed and hidden, he didn't know how to open up anymore. Touya was also the reason for it as well, for he pushed his little brother away from being able to dominate what he was trying to be in the past, dominate what he wanted but couldn’t be, what he needed to be as a Todoroki.
Touya’s hand heats up, melting the ice around his hand, letting him put the plate down then walk towards Shouto with open arms. “Please, you need this….you’ll understand once it happens” he says to his little brother before bumping into him while wrapping his wounded arms around Shouto’s stiffened form. “You’ve grown so much and I missed all of it. I didn’t even get a chance to love you like a big brother should or play with you” Touya’s words had trouble piercing Shouto’s stone-like heart. Shouto’s eyes wandered off into the distance, thinking about his over lost but now found brother.
Meanwhile, in the living room, Keigo seemed to be troubled by the caller on the phone. Shouto looks down, finally, with no words left to say. Was he supposed to cry? Laugh? Be mad? Go insane? ‘Cause God knows after all he’s been through he had the power to do so. Touya swallows hard as he looks up at the ceiling then back down while tilting his head to the side to bury his face in Shouto's red and white hair. Touya’s voice starts to crack as he whispers to Shouto “It’s not your fault, you hear me? It’s not”
Shouto's eyes started to widen as if his brain had an awakening. Touya repeats himself. “It’s not your fault, it’s not, it’s not, it’s not. Everything you’ve gone through and had to endure, don’t blame yourself for it” he takes Shouto’s hanging arms and wraps them around his own form. It was like an instinctive feeling to help others in a troubled state. Once he placed Shouto’s arms around his body he felt the hands of his little brother grip the fabric of his hoodie and a light pressured irregular movements Shouto was crying.
Keigo looks back at the reunited siblings with worried eyes. He was praying that everything will go well. “Hawks do you hear me? I was not informed by you that my kids will be over your house” Endeavor grumbles over the phone.
“I didn’t think it mattered, especially since two of them are adults. They can handle themselves Endeavour-”
“I’m on my way. Next time you do something like this be prepared to lose a wing.” Endeavour sounded way more pissed than his normal attitude towards Keigo. Your boyfriend looks up noticing you walking over to him, resting a hand on his shoulder. “Is something wrong baby?” you ask him in a concerned tone.
“He’s coming over, like now” he answered you, allowing worry to be seen in his eyes. “He is pissed at the fact that no one told him that they wouldn’t be home.”
“Well, fuck, what do we do?” you mumble softly trying to figure out how to stop Endeavour.
“Touya? What? What do yo-” your voice died quickly as you felt a radiance of heat hit your backside. Touya was fuming, pissed to the bone, he wanted nothing to do with his father, he just found happiness with his siblings again. He shot glares at Keigo. “I trusted you, I gave up my life of being a villain for this?! To be introduced back to the man I personally told you I didn’t want to meet. How could you lie to me, Keigo?!” Touya pushes past you to Keigo, grabbing him by the collar. Keigo’s eyes widened for a quick second then turned cold as ice from Touya’s glare, his hands grabbed his wrists that held his collar.
“Personally, that is rather rude of you to just think the worst of me. I befriended you, I took you under my wing, I let you into my house, around my loved one, made sure you had your own room, own clothes, own bathroom, gave you proper meals and this is what I’m rewarded with? A lowlife answer?” Keigo’s pupils contract to pin like needles.
“T, he wouldn’t do that and you know it-” you tried to help but Touya didn’t want to hear it.
“SHUT UP! You don’t know that pain and torture that man put me throught, and you will never know”, Touyas grits his teeth letting his words slur through.
Fuyumi, Natsuo, and Shouto were all on their feet from sudden commotion.
“You’re right. I don’t’ know and I’ll never know, but for you to think I would do such a thing hurts my fucking feelings,” Keigo pushes Touya off of him.
“I still don’t trust you, I never will.” When Touya said those words, Keigo felt like someone cut his heart with a knife. He honestly thought him and Touya could be friends of some sort.
“Touya listen I-” he was cut off by the deafening knock of the door, as the reverberating noise filled the room everyone fell quiet.
You fumble your fingers then take a deep breath, walking to the door “I’ll answer it.” Reaching a hand out you grab the handle, turning it before opening the door. You weren't greeted by a “Hi”, “hello”, or “good-evening”, but with a demanding question from the tall buff man. “Where are they? Why wasn’t I informed or invited to this so-called event?” Endeavour’s glare lowered on your form.
“Well, both Natsuo and Fuyumi are adults, so I thought they were responsible enough to come over with their younger brother for a quick dinner” you responded too quickly and it was pretty obvious, he arched an eyebrow at your attempt to confuse him. “I’m sure you don’t mind your kids having fun right?”
“Move.” You could tell Endeavour was in no mood to argue so you obeyed by moving to the side. “Can you at least take off your shoes?” you ask as politely as possible. From the corner of your eye you could see Keigo struggling to hold Touya back, his arms hooked under Touya's underarms. Touya’s siblings didn’t know how to help him, it was like they didn’t know their lost brother anymore. When his lips parted, smoke escaped into the atmosphere. Keigo tried his best to calm his friend's angry state but it did him no good “Touya, I know you’re mad but you have to calm down, your siblings are here, calm down,” he yell-whispers into Touya’s ear through gritted teeth.
“LET GO OF ME!! I’M GONNA KILL HIM, I WILL KILL HIM, HE NEEDS TO PAY, PAY FOR WHAT HE DID TO ME!!” Touya’s voice cracks as he yells, pulling the staples around his mouth and jaw, causing the skin to tear apart and eventually bleed. He jerked his body trying to get loose from Keigo’s hold, who was flying backwards as much as possible towards the balcony in an unsteady pattern.
As Endeavour got himself situated, looking around to match the voice with a figure, his eyes landed on Touya who originally he thought was Dabi. His facial expression never changed due to the lack of belief in who Dabi truly was. Touya’s elbow collided with Keigos nose, busting it “I SAID LET GO OF ME! HE NEEDS TO PAY!”
Endeavour looks at his children, specifically Fuyumi and Natsuo “Explain. Now.”
“We thought it was going to be quicker than this, so we didn’t tell you, sorry father...” she looks down with guilt and fear. Natsuo frowns “Do we actually have to tell you? I’m an adult, sis is an adult, I can handle myself, she can handle herself, and I can protect my sister and little brother. We don’t need you here, you weren’t welcome, your presence only makes things worse, like now” he points to Touya making Endeavour’s eyes follow.
“I’LL KILL YOU OLD MAN, I’LL KILL YOU! RUINED MY LIFE, MY CHILDHOOD, MY CHANCE TO MAKE FRIENDS, MY SIBILINGS’ LIVES” blood-like tears leave the stapled patches under his eyes. “You dare to stand there and not recognize your first born? Haha, I mean a greeting would’ve been nice, after all, we are a TRADITIONAL family” his demented voice lowered as his hand points directly at Endeavour. “Do to others as you wish they did to you, am I right hehehhahahaha?” he lets out a laugh of insanity.
“Touya…..?” Endeavour was in disbelief. Keigo frowns deeply at Endeavour, finally realizing what his idol truly was about even though he knew once he rescued Touya. It was just different hearing it. He continues to fly backwards out to the balcony in the same unstable pattern.
You stand in front of Endeavour once you spotted Touya agitated and igniting his palm. “Touya, please, calm down, we can work this out, without all of this, don’t let your rebirth be a recreation of your past…..”
“SHUT UP. You don’t know what it’s like to be considered a failure of a creation, a waste of time, a mistake, all because of my quirk was defect, something I couldn’t control, something he couldn’t over look and see the good in me, I was a good student ” he looks back at his father, “I wanted to be just like you, Enji Todoroki and so did Keigo. We both looked up to you, but because of your stuck up ways in creating the perfect hero… look what you did. LOOK AT WHAT YOU DID TO ME! YOUR FIRST BORN, TOUYA TODOROKI!” his words died down to nothing, leaving everyone in fearful suspense. Tears left Shouto’s eyes, adding on to the bucket he filled earlier.
“Now, Enji Todoroki, I’m taking you to hell with me, where we both belong. LET’S SUFFER MORE SHALL WE?!”
“TOUYA NO!” you shout out as your eyes sting from the tears building up.
The wounded son let off a huge blue flame at his father, but it never hit him, not once, and instead was blocked by the wings of a fallen angel… Keigo. His wings were cocooned around the both of them, keeping the blue fierce flames in places as it boosted them over the edge of the balcony. Keigo falls from the heights of his penthouse while holding onto Touya protectively. He tried stretching his burning wings to fly back up, but couldn’t. Touya’s flames were living up to their name of cremation, eating away at the red feathers piece by piece.
Watching your husband fall over the balcony the way he did with Touya made your heart stop. He was your other half and you couldn’t afford to lose him. Your feet moved on their own out onto the balcony, immediately looking over the rails. “KEIGO!!!” your distress bounces off the buildings echoing into the distance.
“I’m here babybird” he whispers as he tilts his head downwards looking at the ground coming fast by the second every feather burns.
“CALL THE AMBULANCE, BE USEFUL, DO SOMETHING !” you turn around and yell at Endeavour specifically. He snaps out of his shocked state and nods complying to your command. You look back over the edge not believing what you saw, then immediately make your way out of the penthouse and down to the first floor as fast as possible.
Keigo notices the pool of the complex coming in fast below him and Touya, because of the high speed they were going. Touya passed out, not able to handle the different wind pressures passed to him. Keigo takes a deep breath as he closes his eyes readying himself for the impact into the pool while protecting Touya’s almost lifeless form. Kiego’s back slams on top of the pool first then continues through until his head touches the cement of the bottom of the pool. The sudden cold shocked Touya’s nerves, waking him straight up. His eyes open as he inhales by reflex, realising that he was in water. Once up to the surface, he starts coughing and gasping for air. He looks around swiftly then looks down at the water which was mixing with burnt feathers and blood… blood that wasn’t his. “Oh no, oh no oh no! OH NO KEIGO!” He takes a deep breath then dives back down into the cold water after Kei. Finding him quickly, he pulls Keigo into his body as he resurfaces, pulling him to the edge of the pool, placing Keigo up on the ground before getting out himself.
Touya places an ear to Keigo's chest for listening. Keigo wasn’t breathing, nor was there a heartbeat. Maybe because he could’ve had water in his ears, he thought to himself as some way of comfort, “Fucking dammit… don’t do this now, idiot, you’re stronger than this” he starts performing CPR on Keigo. “Come on dammit BREATHE…..” No matter how hard he tried he got nothing from Keigo.
You finally make it to the last level before rushing to Touya’s side, then immediately covering your mouth, noticing Keigo’s inert form. His head was covered with his blood and was still bleeding out. You noticed his back was completely flat on the cement, meaning whatever was left of his wings broke off from the impact into the pool. “W-what do I do?” you stutter out already feeling like you lost everything.
Touya gives you a quick glance. “I don’t know, he’s not responding to this CPR” he leans down giving Kiego air, then repeats the treatment. He places his ear to his chest again, Touya’s eyes widened and watered for what his eyes could produce. “He doesn’t have a heartbeat, go in the penthouse hall and look for an emergency heart defibrillator”
“O-okay” you panic as you stand back up rushing into the building to later return with the machine, putting it down next to Keigo. “He never taught me how to use this-”
Touya opens the kit, not taking any time to talk, then rips Keigo's shirt off, placing the patches on top of his chest, then presses the button of the machine, starting it up. The machine starts to speak, “Warning to not touch an entity that is undergoing a shock, being in contact with the entity can and will cause problems for others. Shock will begin in 3...2...1..” it shocks Keigo, making his body jolt up but it goes limp.
“No...no..no..no come on, idiot fight!” Touya bangs his balled up fist on the ground.
“Keigo” you place your hand in front of your mouth, “please wake up,” your voice cracks, “we have a kid on the way, we still have to grow old together”
“No heartbeat detected, another shock is in process…. Stand back… 3...2...1” the machine repeats itself but gets the same reaction from Keigo.
“Somebody do something please!, please help him,” you cry out. You could hear sirens in the distance. “Come on, Keigo… help is almost here, give them a sign you’re still with us.”
“Last shock…..3...2….1” the patches shock Keigo with all the energy it was programmed to give.
Silence. Nothing, but silence. Could that honestly be it? It couldn't be, right? Before you and Touya gave up hope, Keigo gasped for air, coughing in pain as his eyes remained shut.
“Oh, thank God…” Touya holds his head as he falls back on his bum letting reality hit him. You lean down placing your forehead on Keigo’s, then begin to sob out your worries, dropping tears on his face. Keigo keeps his eyes shut “Is….everyone safe?”
“Yes yes everyone one is okay-” you speak out in a whisper.
“What about Touya…. he survived the fall right?” with every breath Keigo took; it was a little shaky and quivered like, you could tell he was in immense pain.
“I’m here, thanks to you…” he grabs Keigo's hand for a split second to tell him he was there and safe.
“Good…..good…..” Keigo's head slowly starts tilting to the side as his words slurred out.
“Keigo?” you question quickly starting to become worried.
“He’s just passed out, due to the lack of blood” Touya reassures you and you nod in return. “Again…. I’m sorry”
“I’m just glad both of you guys made it… just don’t do that again, okay? There is always a way out of situations such as this one. We will get through it together... me , you, and Keigo, okay?”
