I'm a forty something PhD student, working on the German Catholic immigrant community of 19th century New Orleans and how they used religion to cope with yellow fever. I've earned multiple MAs -- American studies, religion and art -- and an MFA in visual/studio art and ballet. I'm also a writer, poet, artist, and sometimes dancer, even still, and achieved my dream of getting en pointe as an adult in September 2020. I live with my spouse and our two spoilt, adorable cats.
I'm disabled and chronically ill, and I'm a bisexual trans man. (Gender is complicated.) I'm mixed, Latiné and Ukrainian/Eastern European mutt with bits from MENA and India thrown in the genetic and cultural blender, and I'm a Sephardic Jew. I also do witchcraft and practice polytheisms. It's also complicated.
I'm a huge dork. I love New Orleans (obviously), The Locked Tomb series, ballet, cemeteries, period dramas, dark academia, whimsigoth, coffee, history, art, Tolkien (yes, including Rings of Power), Age of Sail, ghosts, cats, Broadway musicals, tarot cards, witchcraft, architecture, and all other sorts of things that strike my fancy. There's no theme here except what makes me happy, frankly. It's my little place of joy.
Nazis, TERFs/GCs, racists, transphobes, homophobes, antisemites, white supremacists, incels, MAGA ... Look, if any part of my identity makes you angry or want to change me, just fuck off. Get in your Honda Civic, fuck off to that horizon, and keep driving past the point of all fucks possible.
