Dracula had it right, sleep all day, live alone in an abandoned castle & explode into a thousand bats to get out of social situations.

After spending some days training at the Imperial Stormtrooper Marksmanship Academy, I managed to record all of Stefano’s voice clips when he dodges Sebastians bolts (I muted the sound effects and BGM so it’s easier to hear his voice).

Something I noticed is that Stefano - for whatever reason - uses fencing terms when he teleports out of the bolt’s way. What’s also interesting is that they even make sense in the right context: A riposte is a counter attack used after parrying the attack of one’s opponent. If Stefano dodged a point blank bolt and immediately retaliated with his knife attack, it would count as a counter attack. An appel is a move that consists of stamping one’s foot on the ground to startle the opponent. Now in Stefano’s case, what he does isn’t exactly what you’d call a stomp. But if you saw a serial killer slowly closing in on you via teleporting, I’m sure you’d be quite intimidated unless you’re Sebastian Castellanos (who is used to supernatural stuff like this thanks to Ruvik). Also, while “balestra” means “crossbow” in Italian, it’s actually a fencing move as well: It’s a hop forward, mostly used to prepare an attack. When he tries to use his knife attack, Stefano uses short distance teleports in tamdem with walking towards Sebastian in order to close the distance between them faster (okay, he could just teleport directly in front of Seb for that, but, you know… boss fight!). His teleports could be considered as a fancy way of hopping. It’s called flash step after all.

But then there’s still the question why he uses fencing terminology of all things. Maybe Stefano used to be a fencer at some point? Well, he is really good at throwing knives, so it wouldn’t be that farfetched to assume he might also have at least some martial arts or combat sport experience. Another reason might be that Stefano just likes the move names and supposes Sebastian thinks he taunts him in Italian when he says those terms xD

PS: I got the info about the fencing moves from the internet, so if I wrote anything wrong, please correct me.

All the more reasons to love Stefano more.

Stefano’s Handwriting

When he’s trying to intimidate:

VS

When he’s “messily” writing down his thoughts:

Messily? That's a fancy handwriting that I've always wanted to learn because mine is trash. Seriously, Sebastian.
