Back at it again with my “fake deepness”, “talking too much” and “bad grammar” according to forums!
Actually i would amend this to say that buying a nice car or nice jewelry while living in the hood isn’t always about showing your wealth, and can be more focused on my point about having nice things and having valuable things and I didn’t mean to make it seem like “everyone wants to look rich” because that’s not even the point. An entire class of people you share an(y) identity with is disenfranchised across the board, and limited in other aspects of their life. So it feels good to have nice things, literally. For example, that’s why I get designer clothes on eBay, because it’s the only thing I have control over. and I want something nice for myself so I can feel like I have a multidimensional meaningful human in the way rich people can. Not necessarily just to “conspicuously consume” but more importantly to feel like I have value (which is a point I steered off of)
