Not y’all hoes still acting as if Lucien is this weak little thing that Sarah doesn’t care about and will eventually kill off? I thought we left that shit back in 2020? And the fact that the majority of y’all are the same exact people creating powerpoints and essays defending certain characters for the same exact reason y’all bully Lucien and act like he’s a villain- come tf on now...
In case any of y’all have forgotten, Lucien is the son of Day and Lady of Autumn- that’s two powerful bloodlines running through him. He is the most politically powerful character in the series right now having ties to just about every court including the human territories and the continent. He’s the chain linking all the courts together and has the power to break apart the Night Court’s alliances- hell, make all of Prythian fall apart. He has the potential to become one of the most powerful High Lords some day, possibly even High King with his connections, resources, intelligence, and personality.
That’s not what makes him strong though. What makes him strong is his ability to remain self-sufficient and resilient in the face of all his struggles. To pick himself up after being knocked down again and again, and being able to take everything he’s been through and not letting it devour him. That’s what I admire most about him. If you’ve read the books, you’d know that Lucien is one of the most traumatized character in the entire series. At a young age, he fell madly in love with someone and believed she was his mate and waited patiently for a bond to snap into place between them only to be held down and forced to watch (once again- someone he believed was his mate) get executed right in front of his eyes because his father deemed her as unworthy. Not long after, three of his brothers begin to view him as a threat to the crown because they sensed immense power emanating from him and attempted to kill him. Then, he was offered sanctuary by someone he eventually allowed himself to rely on as a best friend, only to get abused and become the target of his anger, then get dumped and left with nothing but the clothes on his back despite remaining loyal to him for decades. He had his mind fucked around with, he was sexually assaulted, he was whipped and tied down on multiple occasions and went through a near death experience while being used for Feyre’s trial, and who knows what else. I don’t think I want to know. And we all know how much he’s struggling with the mating bond, something he sees as rare, special, and beautiful despite his mate not wanting it. (Ffs Sarah, give this man a break. I’m begging you.)
Just because his strength and skills don’t lie in combat doesn’t mean he’s “weak”. Magical powers and physical strength don’t determine how strong you are. A strong person is someone who doesn’t going around actively trying to demean and diminish someone else’s identity to make themselves feel better and more powerful just because they can. A strong person is someone with mental fortitude, who has emotional maturity and stability, who has patience and persistence for when things get tough. And Lucien, my precious baby, has felt rejection and abandonment and loss his entire life and is always being used and discarded when he’s not useful or convenient enough. He’s been through hell y’all, but he doesn’t let any of his traumatic experiences and difficulties break him. Instead, he continues to be good, he continues to be selfless, and despite life letting him down, despite everyone around him treating him like dirt, he continues to puts the welfare of others above his own.
That is what you call Strength.
