Manhunt - Chapter 9

Words: 2382

A/N: Hey Guys! Finally another chapter! I apologize sincerely for the long wait and hope some of you are still interested in the story. Thanks to everyone for being so patient with me. :)

As always, let me know if you enjoyed it and critiques are always welcome!

(if you want to be tagged or removed just let me know!)

Chapter 9:

As Baba and I pulled away, we looked deep into each other’s eyes. I never understood what was, and still is, between us. It was always a special bond that went beyond friendship.

He smiled at me and caressed my cheek while his other hand was resting on my neck.

We didn’t need any words and enjoyed the moment we had, away from all the stress, pain and sadness we went through.

Loving, he kissed the tip of my nose as I closed my eyes and breathed in his smell.

He tilted my head up so I once again, looked into his eyes. I leant in and gave him another kiss, this time with more passion and dominance.

I heard Baba’s breath hitch and smiled into the kiss at the effect I had on him.

thank you so much to @2bedroom-baddestbidderlove @alolan-lillie for sharing their ideas with me!!! ILYSM

Through his wet bangs, he could survey the pandemonium he caused.

The whole party was in complete disarray with the crowd directing their full, unadulterated attention at his display. From his peripheral vision, he could see the auction managers in the corner of the room, not even disguising their shock at his boldness. In front of him, the socialite was seething. Her nostrils were flared, and her fists were clenched so tightly that he thought her hands would bleed from the sharpness of her manicured nails.

But unfortunately for them, none of that mattered right now. All he could see was red.

Someone hurt ____. Someone hurt her because of him. If he wasn’t completely concerned with social protocol, blood would have spilled—and it definitely wouldn’t be his.

“How dare you, Eisuke Ichinomiya!” she screamed. “Don’t think that I’ll ever do business with you again in this lifetime!”

“Good. I don’t need connections with a bitch who doesn’t know her place. Now get out of my sight before I call security.”

Get out before I do something you’ll regret.

Chapter 7 :

“Jesus Christ, (Y/N)! Wake up and put that fucking gun down, right now!”

I snap my eyes open and everything seems to be in slow motion. I immediately notice that I’m not lying on the comfortable couch in Baba’s arms anymore. I’m standing in front of a king-sized bed with satin sheets, fluffy pillows and a really pissed off and angry Eisuke sitting in the middle of it. I was about to snap back at Eisuke when I realized that I’m pointing a weapon directly at him.

In an instant, I have put the gun down so it’s dangling in my left hand and clicked the safety in. My right hand flies up to my face to rub the sleep out of my eyes and also clear my vision a little.

“What the hell do you think you’re doing, sneaking into my room at 5.30 in the fucking morning and pointing that thing at me? God, I know we had a nasty fight yesterday, which by the way I still think you owe me an apology for almost dislocating my shoulder, but you don’t have to murder me in not only mine but also your sleep!”

Eisuke begins to shout at me in his half naked state and a head that was as red as a tomato. Of course, with me being my-stubborn-self and Eisuke being Eisuke which is short for ‘as-stubborn-as-a-donkey’, I couldn’t just say sorry for waking him up or almost dislocating his shoulder, so I decided to shout right back.

“What? Me apologizing to you because you were an asshole to me yesterday and I decided to put you in your place for once? Oh, you better be joking!” I began to wave my hands around in pure anger.

“Somethings just should have stayed like in my dream.” I mumbled. Truth be told, I’m relieved that all this insanity was just another of my bad dreams. I’ve never had dreams this intense before with six people, including myself, being murdered and especially seeing everything in such detail. When I first saw the crime scene pictures from my father, I’ve had nightmares about me actually being present and seeing him getting killed but I could never save him.

“What should have stayed like your dream?” Eisuke asked his voice sounding a little worried, even though he tried to keep it neutral.

“Nothing.” I answered a little too loud and quickly and began to crack my left index finger. Eisuke only smirked at me when his eyes focused on my gesture.

“It’s just, everything is so fucking tiring and complicated. And then you just had to mock me and I guess I just snapped. I know it was a little immature to react that way but shit, you deserved it. I’m sure as hell not begging for forgiveness.” I stated and Eisuke’s eyes began to soften up a bit at my honesty.

“I know, you’ve always been really stubborn,” I huffed at the irony of his words. “but so am I and I guess, I just really hit you in the wrong spot, at the wrong time. But don’t expect me to apologize either, not even when you’re pointing that gun at me.”

I began to giggle a little and nodded in understanding. I looked up at Eisuke and questioned in a deep voice, “So we good?”

Eisuke began to chuckle while he got out of his bed and walked towards his closet. “Peachy!” he chanted back which made me laugh. I turned to walk back down to the lounge and let Eisuke get dressed when his voice stopped me from doing so.

“(Y/N)?”

“Hmm?” I hummed in response.

“Whose gun is that? It’s not yours, is it?” he curiously asked.

I looked at the gun which was still in my left hand and began to really observe it for any clues, to find out who the owner of this gun was. “It isn’t mine, mine’s in my room. So honestly, I have no idea, most likely Baba’s.” I answered absentmindedly and continued to walk out.

As I descended the stairs I was met with the smiling faces of Baba and Ota and a grumpy looking Soryu. “Princess, there you are!” Baba exclaimed happily and began walking towards me. “Why were you in Boss’ suite at 6 in the morning? Don’t tell me you…?” he drifted off and I quickly shook my head and met him halfway in an embrace.

“Of course not, you big idiot. I was just sleepwalking and somehow ended up with a half naked Eisuke at the other end of a gun that doesn’t even belong to me.” I murmured lowly in his chest and Baba began to laugh as we separated from our embrace and he began to look at the gun in my hand.

His eyes began to widen and he repeatedly looked back and forth between the gun and me. “How did you know the code to my safe?” he asked shocked. In that moment Soryu and Ota focused their attention on me and Ota blurted out; “She opened your safe in her sleep? What are you some CIA-Agent-meets-Houdini-Lady?”

I looked at all of their faces, dumbfounded. We just looked at each other for what felt like hours until I heard a set of expensive shoes meet the shiny floor. Eisuke walked into the lounge like the king he is, long and heavy steps.

He sat down in one of the armchairs, leaned back and put crossed his ankle over his knee. He had a serious face plastered on and looked around and nodded at the guys. “So, (Y/N) I decided that we will help you find your father’s killer under one circumstance.” I sighed in relief. “But.” He put his index finger in the air and leaned forward.

I looked at him as a sign that he had my full attention and that he should continue. When he saw that I was paying all my focus on him he began to smirk and let his hand fall in a relaxing motion.

“You’re with the law, right?” I nodded slowly. “So, when we are working on this case you most likely will find out somethings about us that you will not like or approve. Hell, you already found out somethings, like Baba being the famous thief Lupin and so on.”

“Okay Eisuke, what are you getting at?” I pressed, my patience already wearing thin.

“Patience still isn’t your forte, I see?” Eisuke chuckled. In response, I let out a huff and crossed my arms under my chest while I pouted. “Get on with it.” I mumbled.

Eisuke looked like he was in some kind of trance until he recovered back to his usual snobby self and continued, “So like I said, you’re going to find out things about us that are not necessarily, how should I put it? After your morals or your rules, now I’m not saying you will find anything but if you do you are not allowed to arrest us, got it? When you’re with us you’re simply (Y/N) our friend not Detective (Y/N) (Y/L/N).”

I smirked a little to myself and thought “If only you knew that I am more than just a detective.” But instead I mocked his voice “And if you follow my rules I’m going to have, quite literally, the time of my life”

“Speaking of having the time of anyone’s life, is Mamoru still asleep?” Ota noted while the others had different reactions. Baba began to cackle like a hyena when he looked at Sor’s pissed off face and Eisuke only shook his head.

I only smiled and began walking towards the exit of the lounge and observed, “So this is a normal morning in the penthouse.”

“Hey Koro, where are you going?” Ota wondered.

I halted and looked over my shoulder “Going to wake up the sleeping beauty, what else?”

“I wouldn’t do that if I were you, princess.” Baba warned but I already turned back and continued my walk towards Mamoru’s room. I halted stiffly as I realized something.

I fully turned around and announced “Guys, can one of you be so kind and tell me where Mamoru’s suite is?” They al stopped laughing and all turned towards me with big eyes then looked at each other and burst into full blown laughter, even Soryu was laughing.

After a while the laughter died down and Baba was literally dying on the floor while clapping his hands and just blowing out air instead of laughing.

I looked down and remarked, “Baba stop it you look like a seal.” That only made him laugh harder.

“Mamoru’s suite is the third on the left when you exit the lounge” Soryu gave me the directions and I waved my hands in the air and exclaimed “Finally, thank you Sor!” I turned around once again and began to confidently stroll towards the exit, once again. “If I’m not back by the next hour you may need to call the ambulance or the police because I’m most likely dead.”

Just as I was closing the door I heard someone mumble, “Or screwing each other’s brains out.” I simply the comment and headed towards my next destination, Mamoru’s apartment.

When I arrived at Mamoru’s door I took a deep breath and softly knocked on it. I listened closely for any noise indicating that I had just woken up the dragon. But there was no sign.

I slowly turned the doorknob found it unlocked. I shook my head at his imprudence and opened the door to find the exact same interior as Baba’s with a few differences in tidiness and smell.

The smell was exactly what I expected Mamoru to smell like. Cigarettes and a note of alcohol mixed with musky aftershave. The tidiness was also what I expected. Needless to say, it was a mess of cigarette stubbles and clothes.

I crept trough the entrance directly into the living room and saw Mamoru’s sleeping figure passed out on the couch. His head was resting on the armrest, he was sleeping on his back and sometimes little or bigger snores escaped through his mouth.

I chuckled to myself and tiptoed over to the couch and looked at his face. Up close he was even more handsome than from afar. His unshaved, charcoal beard and messy hair makes him look really handsome, if I do say so myself.

I pulled myself out of my daze and shook my head quickly from side to side. 'God, you sound like a 14-year old with her first real crush.’

I’ve decided that it’s time to wake up the sleeping beauty. So, I carefully climbed on top of him so I was straddling him and looked down. My subconscious rubbed its hands together and waited as impatiently as a lion preying on a gazelle.

I breathe in real deep and let my hands hover over his rising and falling chest I almost pity him for the way he’s going to be woken up. Almost. I lift my arms a little higher so the impact will be bigger and begin to hit him on the chest while shouting, “Wake up, you lazy ass!”

Mamoru gasps and instantly snaps his eyes open while trying to stand up, which of course doesn’t work out since I’m not the weight of a cat that could be easily thrown off. So instead, we both plummet to the floor with him on top of me, oh how cliché.

Mamoru gets on his hands so he’s just inches away from me and questions me annoyed, “What the fuck do ya think you’re doin’, kid?” In response, I only begin to laugh in his face while I tried to express how incredibly ridiculous his face looked just now. I begin to hold my stomach and turn slightly to my side until I do nothing more than just letting out a few more giggles between panting.

“Okay, I guess my face looked really fuckin’ funny.” Mamoru chuckled and I only nodded in response while rubbing my eyes.

I turn on my back once again and wonder, “Are you awake now?” Mamoru looks at me with half-lidded eyes and a lazy smile grazing his lips. “Yep, ya got me good.”

I beam up at him and begin to fiddle with my hands on top of my chest because of the tensing silence that slowly grew between us. We stared deep into the other’s eyes and our breathing began to fasten almost into pants.

After what feels like an eternity we both seem to snap out of it. I clear my throat while he begins to stand up and offers me his hand to help me get up as well.

“So, what brings you here other than disturbing my beauty sleep?” he questions while he pulls me up.

“Well, King Eisuke decided to help me with my case, of course not without setting any rules, and I wanted to get started today. I also thought that you could help me the best since you’re in the law yourself even though I can see that you’re not so passionate about your job as I am. But I still thought that you would be a great help since I don’t know how everything works in Japan.” I began to ramble almost without catching my breath between the sentences.

Mamoru looks at me startled and then pointed out, “So, ya trust me with that whole information ya collected over the past what? Ten years or so without any kind of hesitation? Damn, kid I’m flattered.” He scratches his neck and grins like a little child.

I huff in response and mumble more to myself than to him, “Don’t flatter yourself. A friend of Baba’s is also kind of a friend of mine.” Then a bit louder I announce that we should probably head back to the other’s before they could tease us more than they are already going to. Mamoru’s response was a simple nod.

When we arrive back at the lobby I was taken aback to see that all of them seemed to be studying my case files and Soryu was even typing away on his laptop. They all seemed so concentrated on the task that they didn’t notice me and Mamoru entering the lounge so I cleared my throat to get their attention.

They all snapped their heads towards us and nodded while Ota of course couldn’t let the remark about us taking our 'sweet time’ be. I ignored the comment altogether and began to walk towards one of the armchairs when Mamoru who was already scanning over the papers asked me, “(Y/N), why do ya have such detailed explanations and shit? I mean a normal police officer don’ get that detailed shit.”

Their eyes were now all on me again and I began to uncomfortably squirm under their intense gazes. 'Okay now or never’ I thought to myself and my subconscious was sitting down and cheering me on like it was on a football game.

“I guess now’s the best time to tell you guys.” I began and they all nodded indicating for me to continue, “you’re right I’m not some normal detective or officer. I am an Agent, an Interpol Agent to be specific.” I watched as their eyes grew bigger and everything began to make a little more sense for them

“I’ve worked for them for 3 years now and I’m currently one of the best agents they have. I began studying criminal profiling while I was still in college and even took some classes were a profiler from the BAU taught us some things. When they saw how good my progress was they immediately requested me to work for them but I declined. Mainly because that wasn’t the road I was looking for, so when Interpol came around I immediately took that chance and worked in Switzerland with their law enforcement while collecting some evidence from my father’s murder.” I explained further and it seemed like it clicked in all their heads and everything made sense for them.

“Now it makes sense why you knew so much about us yesterday, you simply profiled us and put the pieces together.” Soryu pointed out.

In response, I smiled sheepishly and shrugged in a 'what can you do’ kind of way.

We all went back to our tasks and after about half an hour Soryu snaps his head up from his laptop and asks me to come look at what he’s found. I go to stand behind him so I can look over his shoulder at the laptop screen.

“I looked a little bit further into the person that your father was and kind of connections he had and I found this.” A little task pops open and the only thing I can read is “Birth Certificate”.

I grip the back of Soryu’s chair and begin to lean over his shoulder so I can read better all the while saying, “Sor, that’s probably my birth certificate there’s nothing special… wait that’s not mine.” I begin to read the whole thing and my grip begins to tighten.

“Tamara (Y/L/N)” I mumble to myself. “Born on April 22nd 2000. Wait, what?! I have a sister?!”

Glad that you are writing again. Been waiting for this for quite awhile 😊

A New Heir - Kakeru Kamui One Shot

So it’s been a while since I posted anything for 10 Days With My Devil and I got a request a little while back for one where the MC finds out she is pregnant with Kakeru’s child and the implications it has on her as a half demon/half human baby, plus the reactions of the demon realm as she and Kakeru are now the King and Queen respectively.

Okay, here we go!

Sarina could hardly believe it. She had taken four tests now, but the result was always the same. Those two blue lines showed up for the fourth time as she began to comprehend her situation. She was pregnant with Kakeru’s baby. While she had talked with Kakeru previously about a family, the sudden realisation that it was actually going to happen left her feeling incredibly overwhelmed. Putting a hand to her stomach and thinking of the tiny baby that was slowly growing inside of her, she couldn’t help but well up with tears as the news finally began to sink in. Finally managing to pull herself up from the edge of the bath, Sarina went into the bedroom and lay down, deciding to wait for Kakeru to get home before doing anything else. It had been six months now since the Demon King had stepped down and passed on his crown to Kakeru, citing that it was time and that he wished to see his son rule. While they hadn’t opted to live in the Demon Realm, Sarina had seen a lot more of it since becoming Kakeru’s wife and Queen of the Demon Realm. It took some getting used too and the formal affairs were, at first, daunting. But Kakeru’s faith in her had gone a long way and she had felt more comfortable by his side than she ever thought she could be. After waiting for a few hours and managing to eat something light, Sarina set to work on making dinner for Kakeru, knowing that he would soon be home. Since he had been made King of the Demon Realm, he had so much more work to deal with, but he had taken it all in his stride. It was admirable really. Though as her thoughts trailed off to his reaction, she couldn’t help but worry that he wouldn’t take it well. Trying to shake off her concerns, Sarina had been in the middle of preparing dinner when she heard the door open. ‘I’m back,’ ‘Welcome home!’ Sarina called, her voice giving her away in an instant as she looked down to the pan as she continued to stir dinner. ‘Sarina?’ Hearing her husbands concerned voice as he came into the kitchen, Sarina turned to him with as bright a smile as she could muster. She felt as though her heart was in there throat, but she knew she had to tell him. ‘What’s wrong? You look pale? Were you sick again?’ Kakeru asked, the concern in his eyes and loving way that he took her hands in his making Sarina tear up. ‘Sarina…what is it? Talk to me,’ he implored as he touched a hand to her cheek and brushed away her tears. ‘I…I’m pregnant,’ she stammered, her voice losing all it’s strength as Kakeru’s eyes went wide. ‘You’re having a baby?’ Nodding in response, Sarina had averted her gaze when Kakeru lifted her chin up and kissed her forehead softly before wrapping her up in his arms as though she were the most fragile thing in the world. ‘Kakeru?’ ‘I love you…so much…’ he breathed in her ear, his kindness resonating in his voice as Kakeru held onto her. ‘I promise I’ll do everything in my power to take care of you and our child,’ he assured her, seeing tears slip down Sarina’s cheeks as she smiled. ‘You’re really happy?’ ‘Of course I am,’ Kakeru responded, leaning his forehead against hers as he gazed into her eyes. ‘Come on…’ ‘Where are we going?’ ‘To tell the others that I’m going to be a Father,’ he returned, gripping your hand warmly. ‘Besides, Meguru should know he’s going to be an Uncle.’ ‘I think all of them are going to be Uncle’s,’ Sarina giggled, making him smirk as he wrapped an arm around her shoulders. It had been a few days since they had been to the demon house and, as always, they were given a warm welcome. ‘Sarina, and Kakeru! I didn’t know you were stopping by tonight?’ Haruhito remarked with his usual bright smile as they walked into the living room where Shiki was dozing on the sofa. ‘Is everyone here?’ Sarina asked. ‘Yeah, Meggy’s in the kitchen and Satoru’s upstairs. Sheek’s wake up! Sarina and Kakeru are here,’ he grinned, raising his voice to rouse the ever tired demon as he opened his eyes somewhat irritably. ‘What…?’ ‘Come on, get up, we have news,’ Kakeru remarked in his authoritative tone, when Meguru walked in. ‘Hey, I didn’t know you were both coming by today, what’s going on?’ Meguru asked, glancing between the pair when Satoru appeared with Haruhito leading the way. ‘We have some news,’ Kakeru responded, putting his arms around Sarina protectively as he looked down at her to see her smiling shyly. ‘Sarina is pregnant.’ ‘What?!’ ‘Are you serious?’ Seeing the demons go wide eyed at the news, Sarina and Kakeru were suddenly enveloped with hugs and warm words of congratulations. ‘I’m going to be an Uncle! Uncle Haru,’ Haruhito beamed as he took Sarina’s hands excitably. ‘Yeah, well we all know I’m going to be the favourite Uncle,’ Satoru cut in. ‘Hang on, I’m the Uncle,’ Meguru responded, finally getting passed the others to give Sarina a gentle hug as they encouraged her to sit down on the sofa beside Shiki. ‘Congratulations,’ Shiki remarked quietly, a hint of a smile on his features as the others looked down to her. ‘How do you think the Demon King will react?’ Satoru questioned. While the role of King had been passed down to Kakeru, the others still referred to the former King as such. ‘It’s hard to say, I’m sure he’ll be quite delighted that there will be a new member of the royal family. Especially if it is a boy,’ Kakeru mused. ‘A young Prince…and the next King.’ ‘But how are you planning on raising the baby? Will you move to the Demon Realm?’ Haruhito questioned, seeing Sarina and Kakeru exchange glances. Truth be told, it was something they had never discussed when the subject of children had come up. Sarina had no idea of an upbringing in the Demon Realm. Much less what it would be like for a young Prince or Princess. ‘It’s Sarina’s choice. I have no intention of making her do something she doesn’t want to do. She is my Queen and my wife. If she wishes for our child to be raised in the Human Realm then so be it. Though of course, when the baby is due to arrive, she will have to to be tended too in the Demon Realm.’ ‘I will?’ Sarina voiced, seeing Satoru and Kakeru exchange glances as Meguru opted to explain. ‘The baby is half demon and half human. Pregnancies in the Demon Realm are much shorter than that of a human because the baby develops quicker. Of course, it’s not really well documented in terms of a half human, half demon child. But the pregnancy could be over in as little as four months.’ Feeling grateful that she was sat down as the revelation hit her, Sarina was unaware of the colour draining from her features as she wondered whether that meant all of the symptoms of pregnancy would hit her in a faster succession. What if the symptoms were worse? ‘Sarina?’ What if she couldn’t do it…What if her body wasn’t strong enough to protect their baby? ‘Sarina…’ As the others gathered around her, Kakeru kneeled down to her level and put his hands on her knees, bringing Sarina back to the present as she looked to her husband with wide eyes. ‘It’s going to be fine. I will keep you safe, no matter what…I wouldn’t have done anything to put you in danger…’ Nodding at Kakeru’s words, Sarina took a deep breath as Kakeru gently stroked her cheek. ‘We have to go to the Demon Realm to announce that you are expecting a child, as Queen. While we are there, I’ll ensure that every step is taken to ensure that your pregnancy goes as smoothly as possible. I will use every ounce of my power to keep you and our baby safe. I promise.’ Within the next few days, Sarina was making the necessary preparations for travelling to the Demon Realm with Kakeru. Due to Sarina’s pregnancy, the other demons insisted on coming along for additional protection. Being with those she had known for so long, Sarina couldn’t help but feel more relaxed in their company as they travelled to the Demon Realm, where they were given a warm welcome at the palace.   ‘Master Kakeru,’ Shidou nodded, bowing deeply to the King and Queen as he greeted them. ‘You know that you don’t have to be so formal with us Shidou. But it is good to see you,’ Kakeru smiled. ‘As it is you, and your grace is looking lovely as ever,’ Shidou added, offering you a kind smile as he led you through the castle halls. ‘Your Father is awaiting you in his chambers. He had heard your request and was only too happy to see you both.’ Feeling her heart jump in her throat as she realised what they were about to do, Sarina gripped Kakeru’s hand a little tighter. Hearing a small chuckle, Kakeru gently draped an arm around Sarina’s shoulders, as if to tell her it would all be alright as they followed Shidou down the corridor, leaving the others to their rooms. Sarina had only been in the Demon King’s room once before, when he had been struck down with a heart attack and Kakeru had saved him. Though now of course, things were much different. Opening the door, Shidou then excused himself, while Kakeru led Sarina into the room to find the former Demon King sat reading a book by the window. ‘Ah, I’m glad to see you both arrived safely,’ he smiled, placing down the book as Kakeru and Sarina bowed to him. ‘Dad,’ Kakeru remarked, nodding to him as he continued to have one arm wrapped around Sarina. ‘It is rare for you both to make such an impromptu visit to the Demon Realm. To what do I owe the pleasure?’ ‘Actually, we have some news,’ Kakeru remarked, ‘Sarina is having our child.’ Seeing the former Demon King get to his feet in surprise at the news, Sarina had been nervously awaiting his response when Kakeru’s father broke out into a smile. ‘Wonderful news! Finally this old demon is going to be a Grandfather,’ he beamed, walking over and looking over Sarina as he took her hands. ‘Kakeru, make sure you take good care of her,’ his Father instructed, still having the same air of authority as always as Kakeru nodded. ‘Of course I will.’ ‘I suppose you’ll be making an official announcement, and of course, there must be plans made for once the baby has arrived…’ ‘Actually, Sarina and I have decided to raise the child in the human world. We want him or her to have as normal a life as possible and with Meguru and the others, the little one will still have a good understanding of the Demon Realm.’ ‘Then I wish you the best of luck, just don’t forget visits to the castle every once in a while, I’ll want to see my granddaughter or grandson.’ Breathing a sigh of relief, Sarina had fully expected Kakeru’s father to be angry with their decision, but in light of all that had happened in the past few years, she guessed that he had learned to accept his sons decisions. ‘Thank you,’ Sarina remarked, finally finding her voice as the former Demon King looked upon her with kindness. ‘It is you that I should be thanking,’ he responded. Once their meeting was over, the former Demon King joined the new King and Queen for their announcement of the Royal Baby. An announcement which soon enough, prompted excitement throughout the Kingdom. It would be the first royal child for so many years that the happiness could be felt for miles around. Despite her human status, Sarina had been widely accepted by the demon’s for her kindness and pure heart. As they stood together, holding hands while wearing their Royal attire, Sarina couldn’t help but feel love well up in her heart for the man who stood beside her. The pregnancy itself lasted for five months, with Kakeru and the other demons taking care of her throughout. At times Sarina was utterly exhausted by the accelerated pregnancy that she was experiencing, but thanks to Kakeru’s aid, she was able to cope with the majority of the symptoms that she had. The babies first kick had been a strong one, with Kakeru able to feel the energy of his child as he cradled Sarina in his arms. As Kakeru studied the life force within her carefully, he kept Sarina feeling contented by reassuring her that both she and the baby were doing well. Though one day, he was struck with a realisation. ‘What? What is it?’ Sarina remarked, panic lacing her voice as she looked up at Kakeru’s blank expression, his hand still placed over her swollen stomach as he looked into her eyes. ‘It’s a girl…’ he whispered, a smile gracing his lips as he looked into Sarina’s eyes. ‘A girl?’ she repeated, tears spilling down her cheeks as she placed her hand on top of Kakeru’s. They were having a girl? A little Princess? Feeling a light kiss on her forehead, Sarina looked up to Kakeru and kissed him softly, feeling such warmth for their baby girl and her husband as she rested her head in his chest. ‘I could have never imagined such a wonderful life,’ she uttered softly, feeling Kakeru’s slender hands running through her hair. ‘…and I have you to thank for opening my heart,’ Kakeru responded, his voice full of love and tenderness as he gently kissed the top of her head, vowing to himself that he would never allow any harm to come to his new family…

Okay, that was pretty cute to write. I hope you all enjoyed! I was reminded of how much I love Kakeru when I wrote this. I’m going to be working on 2 - 4 other requests tonight, so I’m hoping this won’t be my only post this evening.

Until then!

Much love!

Eisuke Ichinomiya: It depends on the situation. He has a lot of resources to take you out, but if it’s just hand-to-hand combat? You might be able to win. He’d probably break a nail or something. Only fight Eisuke in certain scenarios.

Soryu Oh: What the fuck dude. He’s a mobster, he can wipe you off the face of the Earth. Not only does he always have a gun on him, but have you seen how hard and high he can kick? Do not fight Soryu.

Mitsunari Baba: Baba’s definitely more of a guy to slip away from a confrontation if it might lead to an actual fight, so he probably doesn’t have a ton of experience. He’s also got a thing about not hurting girls, so he wouldn’t fight back much. You can fight Baba.

Ota Kisaki: He’s a pretty boy and super thin, you can take him. Plus he’s always treating you like a dog, so you’re bound to snap sometime. He’s more about speed than strength anyway. Fight Ota.

Mamoru Kishi: Don’t let his slacker attitude fool you, this guy is a beast when it comes down to the wire. He fought a ton of cult members that held you hostage with like a stick, the dude can go rogue. Plus he’s a cop, he’s fought plenty of times. Don’t fight Mamoru.

Luke Foster: I guess you could fight him, but why would you want to? He is a confused space cadet that loves kitties. Yeah he’s hella strong when he’s all post-surgery tired, but 90% of the time he’s chill. If you go for it, you’ll have Eisuke and Soryu coming after you too. I don’t advise fighting Luke.

Rhion Hatter: What is wrong with you? He is so Pure™  and innocent and small. Does not have a bad bone in his body. If you feel the urge to fight him, look at your life choices. Why

Shuichi Hishikura: Dude’s smart and cunning, but looks can be deceiving. He’s stronger than he looks. Being best friends with Hikaru for so long means he’s picked up quite a few moves along the way. It would be a close fight and I think he could likely win. You probably should’t fight Shuichi.

Hikaru Aihara: He’s a former assassin, this is a terrible idea. Don’t let his youthful look glaze over the fact that the man is capable of killing anyone in his path. Plus he’s young so he’s got a lot of stamina. It’s your funeral if you fight him lmao

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST: Eisuke Ichinomiya

(Based off @catchthespade Fairy Tale AU post with a mix of a few versions of sourced story. I’ve read many versions of this story and I picked which parts worked, including some Disney and it’s Broadway counterpart. What I picked from @catchthespade‘s post is in italics. I can’t source every version of Beauty and the Beast so please forgive me.)

long story. don’t want to clog up anybody’s dash.

Frigid. With that lone word dominating her mind, ____ books it down the worn forest path. The snow falls in a relentless barrage, nearly making it a blizzard. Why did she wonder this far from the village to gather firewood? Then she recalls that most the trees near the village weren’t good for burning and most comes from trading with another village that specializes in woodcutting. But this winter is more brutal than any written in the village’s history. Much so that now everyone got instructions to limit how often the fires burn. And now here she is near the heart of the deep woods with a large bundle of logs and kindling on her back. As she comes close to giving up hope, she sees an abandoned castle that all villagers say a horrifying monster that preys on lost travelers dwells. It’s not that she didn’t have much a choice but all of them have been reduced down to two options. It was either freeze to death on her way back to the village or lose her life to the fiend residing in the worn down structure. Picking the latter of the two, she charges a desperate final sprint down the trail to the formerly grand oak doors. Using what strength remaining, she pulls the door open and shuts it behind her with a bang, grunting, then collapses to the floor. She pushes her heavy bundle off the same time a series of… CLIPPED FEET COMING HER WAY?! She turns to see a young man with a cross expression glaring at her. “You do know that trespassers won’t be forgiven, don’t you?” he scornfully asks.

MC Wearing Her Guy's Shirt

Ren

You dug through the clothes drawer. A towel was wrapped around your figure, having just stepped out of the shower. Due to your recently busy schedule, you were behind on laundry. Now you didn’t have any clothes to wear. Dirty clothes weren’t an option. You sighed. Then Ren’s white shirt peeking out of the closet caught your eye. Biting your lip, you decided it was the best choice.       After tossing the wet clothes into the dryer, you headed off into the kitchen to prepare dinner. Ren’s shirt just barely covered your underwear.       Dinner was almost finished, when you heard Ren’s voice call out, “I’m home” You panicked. There was no way to get to the bedroom or bathroom without him seeing you. You were trapped. “Something smells good” Ren followed his nose into the kitchen. He froze when he saw you. You felt your face flush. “Is that my shirt?” He asks, pointing to your torso. You jumped to explain the situation. “I was a little behind on laundry and didn’t have anything to wear after taking a shower. I thought I’d wear your shirt until the clothes were done” As if on cue, the dryer went off, signaling the completion of it’s cycle. “I’m okay with it” Ren said. You were surprised at his agreement with your wardrobe choice. You rushed past him, mumbling, “I’m going to go get the clothes” Ren grabbed your wrist. “Wait” He said. He leaned closer and whispered in your ear. “You should wear my shirt more often. It looks good” He pulled back. “I’ll let you finish the laundry” He said. Ren went back into the kitchen with an almost seductive smile on his face. You knew your cheeks were still bright red and went to get the now dry clothes.

Yuta

A month. He had been gone for a month. The new show Yuta booked took him off on location. You had missed him from the first day he was gone. Having just finished a brief conversation with him, you place your phone on the bedside table. You looked at the photo in a frame. It was you and Yuta smiling and doing peace signs with your fingers. It was taken when you two began the scary wife show. Because it had become such a special memory, Yuta decided to place the picture in a frame. You smile at it. Then you noticed one of Yuta’s hoodies on a hanger. He had left it saying that you could wear it if you get lonely. You thought he was joking, but it was still here after he left, and you knew he was serious. You decided to take him up on that offer. Taking the blue hoodie off the hanger, you slid your arms into the baggy sleeves. It was warm and held Yuta’s scent, which you happily breathed in. You laid down on the bed and pretended that it was your husband holding you. In no time, you drifted off to sleep.       You were awoken by the feeling of the bed shifting. You drowsily opened your eyes to see Yuta sitting on the edge of the bed, gazing at you lovingly. “Yuta!” You exclaim, sitting up. “Sorry, I must’ve woken you up” He apologized. “Don’t worry about that! Why are you home early?” You ask. “You don’t seem very happy to see me” He pouted. “I’m sorry!” You stand, Yuta following suit, and embraced him. “I’ve missed you” You say into his shoulder. He repeats the same phrase back to you. “I worked really hard and spent extra hours working. And we were able to finish early” He said. “Awww, Yuta” You purred. You squeezed him a bit tighter, filled with gratitude for such a sweet husband. He pulled back and gestured to the hoodie you were wearing, which matched his. “You look so cute in that” He says. No mirror required to know that your cheeks just turned pink. “I should start lending you my hoodies. You look so cute” He flashed you his boyish smile. “I’m not cute” You blush and cross your arms. The sleeves covered your hands when you did that. “You’re just making yourself look cuter” Yuta teased. You gave up and accepted his kiss on your forehead.

Yamato

Standing in front of the bathroom mirror, you buttoned up the white shirt Yamato usually wore to bed. You two had gotten into a fight. Yamato’s been sleeping on the couch. Secretly, you missed him. You wished you had apologized right away. Unfortunately, the fight had been going on for a couple days. You two were locked in a cold war. You didn't back down now because then Yamato’s point would be proven, and knowing him, he would hold it over your head for a while. You wanted him to come kiss you, sweep you off your feet and toss you onto the bed. There was no way he’d do that now though. In order to soothe your heart a little, you decided to sleep in one of his nightshirts tonight. After all, there was no way he’d see you. Since this war began, Yamato made it a point to get up first, make breakfast for the two of you, then leave before you awoke. Enveloped in the smooth material, you peeked around the corner to confirm your husband’s unconsciousness, then walked into the bedroom. You slid into bed and did your best to fall asleep.       It was tough trying to drift off with the man you’d grown so used to sleeping beside gone. The electronic clock read 2:31 am. By now, you were just laying here, eyes closed, waiting for sleep to come. Suddenly, you heard the door open quietly. Assuming it was Yamato, you kept your eyes closed. Light footsteps made their way over to you. They stopped. You felt a hand run through your hair. It was the lightest touch. He was being careful not to wake you. Since you didn’t stir, he must’ve thought you were passed out. “I miss you Pouty” He whispered. You almost opened your eyes at his sentence, but forced them to stay closed. “I want to share a bed again” His hand moved to your cheek. “I want to make up” He withdrew his hand. The footsteps started once more, getting quieter as they walked away from you and out of the bedroom. You heard the door click shut. Immediately, you sat up. He feels the same way you do. You hurried to get out of bed and open the bedroom door. Yamato wasn’t visible. Moving closer toward the living room, you saw the light in the kitchen on and heard water. Running into the room, Yamato was getting a drink of water. He saw you and almost choked on his clear drink. “Pouty!” He exclaimed. “You want to make up?” You ask. His cheeks flushed. “Y-You heard that?!” He asked, to which you nodded. He put down his glass as you walked over to him, embracing him in a hug. “I’ve missed you too” You confess. He wraps his arms around you. That was considered the end to your feud. Although you never did admit he was right. So technically you won…

Saeki

Saeki had been talking about how ‘soft’ and 'light’ his new white shirt was. You decided to try it on to see if this shirt was as great as he made it out to be. After bringing him his usual cup of coffee and making sure he would be busy for a while, you went into the bedroom. Taking the white fabric in hand, you took off your blouse and replaced it with the shirt. Running your hands over the material, you couldn’t deny it was very soft and had a relaxing feel to it.       You walked around the room, loving how the shirt’s hem swayed around your thighs. The pajama shorts you were wearing barely poked out from the bottom. “Alright, that’s enough” You said to yourself, admitting you’d gotten enough enjoyment out of the shirt. Once the top two buttons we undone, you began undoing the third. Suddenly, the door flew open. “Honey, where’s my…” Saeki stopped when he laid eyes on you. Saeki had gotten you to wear one of his shirts before. To see you do it voluntarily must’ve been a treat for his eyes. “Wow, Honey, are you trying to seduce me?” He smirked, walking closer to you. “N-No! I just wanted to try it on to see if it felt as great as you said it did” You quickly explained. You continued backing up to avoid him until your back hit the wall. Saeki put his hands against it on each side of you, pining you so you were unable to escape. “You look very alluring right now, Honey. This is a good look for you” He says lowly, sending a shiver down your spine. “Um, don’t you have to work on your script?” You said in an attempt you drive him away. He dropped his arms and looked away, pouting. “You’re right. I don’t want to just leave you. It feels like a wasted opportunity” He says. Saeki waited a beat before looking back up at you with that same smirk of his. “I guess you’ll have to come with me” He says, taking your wrist in his grasp. Before you could protest, your husband whisked you away into his study. He had a very hard time focusing on his script after that.

Takao

As you stood there ironing Takao’s shirt that he wore to work, you received a text saying he was on his way home now. You sent a reply then went back to ironing. You couldn’t help but notice the shirt’s crisp feeling. It was warm from the iron. You always thought Takao looked so handsome whenever he wore his suit. The playful part of your mind got the best of you, and you slipped the shirt on over your current top. You walked around the living room, having fun with wearing your husband’s shirt. It was comfortable and you understood how Takao could wear this almost everyday. You, however, hadn’t planned for him to get home so quickly. He walked though the door. “I’m home” He said. While he was taking his shoes off, you tried to unbutton the shirt as fast as you could. Before you could get to the last button, Takao turned and saw you. “You’re wearing my shirt?” He asks. “I-I was just trying it on for a second” You blush as you slide off the blue shirt. “You don’t have to be embarrassed” He said. Looking up, you see your husband’s warm smile. “I have no problem with you wearing my shirt” He walks up to you, casually running a hand though your hair. You felt the heat in your cheeks begin to fade. “You should actually do it more often. You look cute” He says, then walks off into the bedroom to change. As embarrassing as it was, you don’t regret letting your playful side come out.

_____________________________________________________________

Thanks for reading this! Sorry if Takao’s was bad, I wasn’t sure how to portray him in this scenario. And Yamato’s and Yuta’s were a bit long, but I started writing them and couldn’t stop. I like the way theirs turned out. :)

KBTBB Fairy Tale AU

yet another self-indulgent AU…. lmao im so sorry

I decided to put some twists to classic fairy tales!

Eisuke: Beauty and the Beast

With nowhere else to go during a stormy winter night, MC decides to take refuge at the long-abandoned castle in the heart of the forest. However, the rumors speak of an hideous flesh-eating beast that inhabits the castle. They say the creature is shrouded in so much darkness that the light of the sun never reaches the forest. Despite that, MC braves herself and takes a step inside. What she doesn’t expect is meeting a cold pair of eyes, not from a monster, but from a man whose heart has long turned into stone.

“You do know that trespassers won’t be forgiven, don’t you?”

The bidders when they sleep

Ohohoho

Eisuke: He’s still a little shit even when asleep. Despite having a king-sized bed, he still manages to somehow take up 80% of the bed space. He usually sleeps on his back with his limbs splayed out all over the place, kind of like a starfish. Not to mention he’s a definite blanket and pillow hogger.

Whenever MC sleeps next to him, she ends up shivering in her sleep, while he curls up like a blanket burrito. When she’s had enough of his tyrannical blanket theft, she tries to stand up to move to the couch. Out of nowhere, Eisuke (while still half-asleep) pulls her back to bed with his arm around her waist in a tight vice grip. No matter how much she struggles, she’ll be unable to escape until morning. Oh well, at least she’s warm now.

Paper-Thin Disguise — Eisuke Ichinomiya (Chapter 6)

Chapters 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6

Summary: Eisuke wasn’t used to fixing problems like these.

Much to his dismay, all that was left was trial and error.

Genre:  Romance, Fluff

Pairing:  MC/Eisuke

a/n: ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) It’s here, guys.

Looking back on it now, his life wasn’t completely without suffering.

At a young age, he lost his mother, father, and sister without warning. He was sent on his own to study in a completely foreign land with no one to help him. He torturously had to climb his way to the top of the corporate ladder, making more enemies than friends. Hell, half the world probably wanted him dead at one point or another.

But nothing he’s ever been through could prepare him for the utter look of betrayal in her eyes.

“Was it fun?” she asked him, her expression uncharacteristically irate.

              “What do you mean?”

“Messing with me. I know you’re my boss and everything, but even I have limits to how much I can get pushed around.” Her voice was dripping with a long-repressed bitterness, he ruefully thought.

              “I didn’t do this to mess with you, I swear. I just—I—“

She crossed her arms, as if to unconsciously shield herself from him even further. In all honesty, in the long time he’s known her, not once has he ever seen her remotely angry, despite all the things he and the others have put her through. If anything, all she ever did was brush everything off with a tight smile.

Right now, however, she was seething with a quiet fury he never knew she had.

Yay!!! You finally continue this story!!! Thank you for tagging!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Manhunt - KBTBB Fanfic Chapter 4

A/N: Good day my lovely readers!

It’s been a long time since I uploaded the last chapter. But work has just kept me busy and tired. Especially since I work at a hospital and the patients always keep you on your feet. But I LOVE it there.

Anyways, I really hope you love reading the story as much as I love writing it. I’m currently working on chapter five, so I hope that I’ll be able to finish that by the end of the weekend.

CHAPTER FOUR:

I was awakened by the beautiful sunrise, even though I was not able to see the sun I noticed the way the sky was beautifully painted with different shades of red, orange and a little pink. For at least 5 minutes, if not longer, I just stared at the sky and its dazzling play of colors.

I sat up, the sheets pooling around my hips and glanced at my phone. Okay, I still have enough time to get ready. The only problem was that I only had 3 hours of sleep. Man, today was going to be a long, tiring day. I forced myself to get up and walked towards the bathroom.

When I saw myself in the mirror, the previous day rolled back in my head like an old movie. My red, puffy eyes burned like someone flicked a match into each of them. My hair was a complete mess; an alpaca looks better than me right now.

After I got dressed and put a little makeup on I left my hotel room, the files from my father’s case in hand, and made my way to the lobby. On my way to the elevator I crossed paths with Kiyoko, the maid from before. When she saw me her face immediately lit up and she waved at me. I forced a smile on my face and waved back. She then turned the corner and was out of sight.

Once I arrived in the lobby waiting for me was Soryu. He made his way over to me and I just stood still; I didn’t move an inch. First he tried to smile at me but when he saw that I didn’t react to that, he looked away and scratched his neck. Huh, so he still does that when he gets uncomfortable or embarrassed.

“Um, good morning… _____. Did you uh- sleep well?” he awkwardly asked.

“Morning. Yes, perfectly fine.” I responded with a flat tone. “Can we go now?”

He looked surprised for a second as if he forgot why he came to the lobby for but then nodded and we made our way to the elevator.

Thanks for tagging!!! Love it!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

KBTBB Request - How the bidders react when MC breaks her foot head-canon

So I received a request from the lovely @dreamysushi for a head canon where the bidders take care of MC when she breaks her foot.

It’s been a good 3 months at least since I last posted a head-canon. This has honestly been down to a lot of things going on at once. A relative of mine was seriously ill and is struggling in their recovery, so I’ve been having to assist where I can in dealing with medical professionals regarding their condition. I also posted recently about the shock of losing my youngest cat Kero at only 2 and half years old.

I have still been writing all this time, I’ve just not been able to write an awful lot. Hence the lack of updates. I am going to try my best to update more frequently from now on, so hopefully this will be the last time I have to address this sort of thing with regards to any delays!

Here we go!

Baba - Baba had been away gathering new artworks for the latest IVC when news reached him that you had been involved in an accident at Tres Spades. If the fact that you had broken your foot wasn’t bad enough; Baba had been furious to discover that he was only being informed several days after the fact. Abandoning his work; Baba was on the next flight back to Tokyo, with numerous thoughts as to how he was going to make the other Bidders suffer upon his return. Baba was an easy-going man, he was rare to anger. But this was entirely unacceptable. Arriving early the following morning; Tres Spades was still in a light slumber, with only a few guests making their departure as Baba walked briskly through the lounge. After a member of staff at the front desk nodded to the thief, he went into the elevator and headed straight for the penthouse floor, where he discovered Soryu and Eisuke were already awake and discussing the next IVC. ‘You owe me ten thousand,’ Soryu commented dryly to Eisuke as he saw Baba walk into the room, though the thief could only feel thankful you were not there. Neither could recall a time they had ever seen Baba so infuriated, though he seemed to calm a little at the knowledge that you had been well tended to in his absence. ‘The woman didn’t want to disturb you when you were away on business,’ Soryu remarked, trying to placate Baba as best he could. ‘I have only ever made one request when I go to retrieve pieces of art for the IVC and that is that you keep her safe,’ Baba responded, his voice tense as he regarded the two with evident irritation. ‘Baba?’ In that moment however, everything changed as Baba turned to see you in the doorway to the Penthouse Lounge, hobbling on crutches as you came into the room. ‘Good morning pretty lady,’ he smiled, his eyes radiating concern as he removed his fedora. ‘I was just about to come and join you. It’s still early…’ ‘But you weren’t supposed to be home for another week…’ 'How could I possibly stay away when my Princess is wounded?’ Baba responded, his words heartfelt as you smiled up at him. Though you soon caught sight of Eisuke and Soryu. ‘Oh, I didn’t mean to interrupt-’ ‘Not at all, make yourself comfortable,’ Soryu replied, sounding more friendly than you had ever recalled in the time that you had known him. ‘I was actually just going to try and rest a little more,’ you responded, offering Baba a warm smile when he strode up and swept you off your feet, leaving your crutches to fall to the floor. ‘Now what kind of gentleman would I be if I didn’t tend to my lady when she is in distress?’ Baba remarked, his expression warm as he kissed your forehead softly. ‘Boss, if you’d just bring her crutches,’ he added, glancing back with a dangerous air to his tone that Eisuke did not argue with. Walking down the corridor, Mamoru had just appeared when, upon seeing Baba, he turned straight back for his room. ‘Mamoru? Are you okay?’ you asked in concern. ‘Ain’t enough sleep in the world is gonna make me ready for that conversation,’ he responded dryly, going back into his room as Baba ignored the detective and took you back to the suite you shared. 'Mr. Ichinomiya told you I’d fallen?’ 'Yes…’ 'I’m sorry…I didn’t want to worry you. I didn’t intend to make you mad at the others. I just thought…’ 'Don’t be silly beautiful lady,’ Baba assured you, kissing your forehead softly. 'I’d have been mad with them anyway. Your safety is of paramount importance to me,’ he remarked, trailing a slightly shaky hand through your hair as you realised just how much he must have fretted. Leaning your face into his hand, you pressed a soft kiss against his wrist as he regarded you with surprise. 'I missed you…so much.’ 'I missed you more pretty lady,’ he responded, his voice warm as he leant in to kiss you. 'I couldn’t wait to wrap you in my arms,’ he admitted, a slight blush touching his cheeks as you pushed yourself into his lap. Over the next few weeks, Baba had been nothing but attentive to you. He carried you like a princess from room to room as he prepared you favourite meals and gave you every moment of his day. While at first you had been sure that the other bidders would tease you, they had been kinder than you had expected. Though when you mentioned it to Baba something about his smile made you think he’d had some part in it… 'You shouldn’t be so mean to them…they were very kind while you were away,’ you remarked, chiding him lightly as he offered you a dazzling smile. 'I have to punish them for not taking care of my greatest treasure. You are the one thing that is irreplaceable to me and I will always protect you.’ Looking up from your place in his lap as you talked, you kissed him softly on the cheek, taking him by surprise and throwing off his whole plan as the other bidders walked in. 'Be nice,’ you murmured with a slight giggle into his ear. Broken foot or not, he was going to punish you later for that. In the most loving way possible.

Soryu - When Inui had gone in to Soryu’s office after Eisuke was unable to reach him, Soryu had initially been annoyed by the interruption, until Inui hurriedly explained that it concerned you. For you, Soryu would make any and every exception. When he had been told that you had an accident at work; his face had completely drained of all colour. Insisting that Inui divert all of his calls, Soryu headed straight for Tres Spades. ‘Soryu.’ Finding Eisuke awaiting him in the lobby, Soryu ran to his old friend, demanding to know what had happened. ‘Luke’s tending to her now,’ Eisuke explained as they headed towards the penthouse level. ‘She was attempting to reach a fixture that appeared to be damaged when her foot caught in the ladder.’ ‘Don’t you have maintenance for that? How could you let her do something so dangerous?!’ Soryu snapped, his tone irate as Eisuke regarded his best friend calmly. ‘Believe me, I have taken every step to ensure those involved have been sufficiently disciplined for their actions.’ Feeling the intensity of the mobster’s gaze, Eisuke promptly directed Soryu in your direction as a whimper of pain emitted from the room. Bursting in through the door, Soryu found you, clutching to the sides of your chair with a pained expression, though at seeing your boyfriend, a smile of relief touched your lips. 'Sor…’ 'I’m here,’ Soryu remarked, his voice softening instantly as he took your outstretched hand and squeezed it lightly. 'I’m sorry…you were so busy today. I told Mr. Ichinomiya-’ 'You are my priority,’ Soryu interrupted, lacing his fingers through your hair when you winced again in pain. 'What the hell are you doing to her?’ Soryu growled, reaching for his weapon as Luke glanced up, entirely unfazed by Soryu’s threatening tone. 'I have to try and determine the severity of the break in order to know how to proceed,’ he stated. 'Seems like a crime in itself for sexy bones to have a broken bone…’ He continued, mumbling to himself as Soryu resisted the urge to react to Luke’s comments. 'It’s broken?’ ‘Without a doubt. I’m afraid you’ll be off your feet for the next six to eight weeks.’ 'Weeks?’ you breathed, your voice stunned. 'There’s nothing I can do to speed up the healing process. The bones are still aligned. That’s what matters right now.’ Binding your wound and putting on a splint for support, Luke gave you some pain medication and crutches. 'Make sure you rest. Keep your foot elevated where possible for the first few days and under no circumstance should you put weight on that foot. Use your crutches. If you don’t, it will delay the healing process and potentially cause further damage if you try to walk on it prematurely.’ 'Thank you Luke…I’m sorry to have troubled you.’ 'Not at all,’ Luke responded dismissively, nodding to Soryu as he packed away his equipment and left you both alone. Seeing the news settle in, your expression clouded over as Soryu watched your eyes glaze with tears. Pulling you in close, you were surprised by his sudden embrace as you breathed in his familiar, comforting scent. 'You’re safe…that’s all that matters. Let’s go home,’ he breathed softly, holding you for a moment longer before lifting you into his arms. 'But you have meetings all day,’ you responded, looking concerned as Soryu pressed a gentle kiss to your forehead. 'You are far more important to me than anything else. The meetings can wait.’ Feeling a warmth in your heart, you couldn’t help but become emotional as you buried yourself in your boyfriends chest. 'Thank you…’ Taking you back to his condo where he didn’t have to contend with the other bidders, Soryu settled you onto the bed, heeding Luke’s advice and encouraging you to rest awhile. After ensuring you were comfortable, Soryu assured you he’d be right back as he went to make a call. Dealing with any matters Inui had for him, Soryu gave his orders and made arrangements to take the next week off to help you settle into your recovery. When it had transpired that Erika had forced you to undertake the maintenance task which led to your broken foot, Soryu had been initially livid. He knew of course why you wouldn’t have told Soryu or even Eisuke about it. But it was not something that either of them would let slide. If it hadn’t been for Eisuke’s assurance that Erika had been fired with the threat of legal action over your injuries, Soryu would have headed straight back to Tres Spades. But just knowing that you needed him was enough to calm the mobster and remind him of his priorities. Over the next few days, Soryu took it upon himself to ensure you were well taken care of. He helped you between rooms, cooked for you and stayed in your company. Even if you were both silently engrossed in a book, you appreciated Soryu’s presence all the same. In that time, Soryu on the other hand, had been reminded of how much you did for him. You were always so thoughtful and kind in the way that you cared for your boyfriend, but now, he was even more aware of all that you did for him. Once you had started to be able to move around more easily on your crutches, you had wanted to get out of the house more. So, after some persuasion, Soryu agreed to take you to the Ice Dragons office. While Soryu fretted you might overexert yourself, he soon came to realise just how much brighter you made his working day. If you weren’t with him in his office, just hearing you talk and laugh with his subordinates was enough to make him smile. Everyone took to you so easily and they had come to see you as family. They’d have protected you even without Soryu’s orders. It was just your nature. As you came into his office that afternoon, you had a bag on the handgrip of one of your crutches as you made your way to his desk. 'Hey, are you busy? Or can you take a break?’ 'For you, I can always make time,’ he smiled, setting down his pen as you placed the bag on his desk. 'I asked Inui to take me to a new bakery I’d heard about, I wanted to get you something,’ you remarked, watching him open the box and reveal a beautiful array of cakes and pastries. Standing up and walking around the desk, Soryu closed the distance between you as he captured your lips with his in a passionate kiss that left you weak in his arms. 'You’re perfect…don’t ever believe any different,’ he murmured softly in your ear, holding you close as you submitted to his sweet embrace.

Ota - Ota had been assessing some of Baba’s artworks for the latest IVC’s on a Thursday afternoon. The main showroom was abuzz with people setting up the stage and lighting for the IVC’s auctions. While Ota had been forced to get up at midday, his mood was uplifted when he discovered that Eisuke had sent you down to assist with the preparations. Hearing some of the workers complain about the positioning of one of the lighting beams, Ota was oblivious to them as he gazed fondly at you, only to be interrupted by a disgruntled Eisuke. 'I wouldn’t have called her down here if she was going to distract you.’ Glancing up at hearing their discussion, you immediately blushed at Ota’s gaze as you hurried along to do something backstage. 'Can we please get back to work?’ 'Jealousy is a powerful thing. Fed up of the tactless bimbo’s are you?’ 'Just shut up and check the authenticity of these paintings,’ Eisuke stated, ending the conversation when a large snap sounded from above them. 'Look out!’ Hearing your voice, Ota’s heart leapt into his throat as he turned in time to hear your screams as you struggled beneath the weight of the beam that had trapped you in an effort to push another member of staff out of the way. 'Get this off her, now!’ Ota shouted, running to your side and dropping to his knees as he gripped your hands in his. 'Ota…’ you breathed, your tone pleading as tears streamed down your eyes. 'It’s okay, we’re going to get it off you,’ he responded, his voice desperate as he turned to see that your foot was caught beneath the weight of the beam. As two men lifted it off you, Ota quickly pulled you into his arms with Eisuke calling for Luke as he also knelt beside you. 'We’re going to get you up to the Penthouse,’ he remarked, his voice uncharacteristically soft as he looked to Ota. 'She needs to be somewhere quiet so that Luke can tend to her.’ After hearing the commotion, Soryu and Baba appeared, offering their assistance as you were taken up to the penthouse suite that you and Ota shared. Throughout your ordeal, Ota remained unmoving, holding your hand as he remained by your side while Luke checked your injury. It had shaken him to his core hearing your screams. The only thing shutting the all too fresh memory from his mind was the occasional comment from Luke and Ota’s own assurances that it would all be okay. While you had some idea that your foot was broken, having it determined only sparked a wave of emotion as tears slipped down your cheek. Feeling Ota’s hand grip yours, you turned to him as best you could as Ota moved to wrap himself around you from behind. When Luke came to leave, he opened the door to find the other bidders hovering around just outside. 'I trust that I don’t need to repeat myself?’ Luke remarked with a slightly raised brow. 'Thank you,’ Eisuke nodded, putting a hand on his friend’s shoulder before joining the other bidders. 'Jeez kid, you’re a lot tougher than I gave you credit for,’ Mamoru remarked as you wiped your eyes. 'It’s not good to see such a pretty lady cry,’ Baba sighed. 'You probably saved that guy’s life though, you’re a lot stronger than you look woman,’ Soryu added, evoking a weak smile from you as you thanked everyone for being so kind. 'I’m not going to partake in the IVC,’ Ota stated firmly, looking straight at Eisuke. 'It’s cancelled,’ Eisuke stated matter-of-factly. 'What?’ You responded in surprise, looking between the two as you noted how pale Ota was. 'I ordered safety checks to be carried out after what happened today. Until I am satisfied that nothing like this will happen again, there will be no IVC.’ 'Just focus on getting the woman better. She’s tougher than she looks,’ Soryu remarked. 'Agreed,’ Eisuke chimed in as you smiled at them appreciatively 'Thank you…’ After offering a few more words, the bidders left you alone with Ota. The moment the door was closed, you found yourself buried in Ota’s chest as he held you in a shaky embrace. 'Are you okay? Does it hurt?’ Hearing the worry in his voice, you could also sense a touch of guilt. 'Only because I had you beside me,’ you admitted truthfully. 'I was scared…but then you were there and I felt calmer. As though I’d be okay.’ 'Hearing you scream, seeing you in so much pain…it took years off my life. You’re more than my muse. You are my everything. My whole life,’ he expressed, cupping your face in his hands as you both became tearful. 'So please…don’t ever leave.’ It was so rare for Ota to truly open up and bare his feelings to you. It was clear he was shaken, but as soon as the words left his mouth, he was already moving you to the bed. 'You should rest.’ ’ Ota…’ 'I can’t let you get cold now. So let me take care of you…okay?’ Finally relenting to his wishes, you allowed Ota to help you settle into bed before he got in with you. Allowing yourself to be wrapped up in his arms, you slept that way all night long, with Ota watching over you. While you recovered, Ota took you to his studio almost every day and had you in his lap while he was sketching. Encouraging you to give him suggestions, he found his art taking a new direction as you offered your input. The results couldn’t have been any more beautiful in his mind. When you weren’t helping Ota with his art, he treated you to loving dates at home, in the comfort of your penthouse suite and assisted you as you began to regain the use of your foot. Standing before you a few weeks into your recovery, Ota held your hands in his as you began to walk, feeling somewhat unsteady, though Ota would never allow you to fall. Through it all; you both became undeniably closer, but if Ota had learnt one thing from that experience, it was to never take the ones you love for granted. He would never let you go a day without knowing just how much you mattered.

Mamoru - Being put on a kidnapping case, Mamoru had been working a lot of overtime during the last two weeks. While you were perfectly understanding of the situation; Mamoru couldn’t help but feel some guilt at neglecting you when he finally returned home, only to sleep and shower before returning to the station. While briefing several officers on the description and sketch of the suspect given by witnesses, Mamoru had initially been irked to hear his phone ringing and quickly nudged it to silent as he talked over the details with police, having recognised the ringtone as Baba’s. With the child finally found and reunited with his parents, Mamoru was hoping to push the paperwork onto someone else and take a nap. He’d deal with the perpetrator when he was brought in. Getting into his office, Mamoru grumbled at his office phone ringing. Ignoring it initially, Mamoru had barely sat down and lit another cigarette when one of the senior officers came barging in. 'What? Can’t you see I’m busy?’ 'Detective Kishi, it’s your girlfriend. She’s been in an accident.’ How could this have happened? You weren’t even working today…or were you? Spending the better part of his journey to the hospital trying to recall his last conversation with you, Mamoru felt the guilt weighing heavily in his chest as he breathed more deeply. He hadn’t touched his cigarette’s since he received the message. Running into the hospital’s main entrance, Mamoru had bolted straight for the desk when he heard another voice. 'Sakiko, where is she?’ Mamoru remarked, his voice straining as he tried not to let his emotions get the better of him. 'They took her for x-rays. We were out shopping and she got knocked into the road when we were stood at a crossing.’ 'Shit…Shit. Shit!’ Mamoru breathed, pushing a hand roughly through his hair. 'She’s gonna be okay. They said it’s mostly just scrapes and bruises, it’s her leg they were most concerned about. Her foot got caught under a tyre.’ 'Mamoru.’ Turning to see Baba and Ota approaching them, Mamoru was confused as to how they knew he was here. 'Sakiko got in touch with the hotel when you didn’t answer your work phone in case you were at the penthouse and left a message. Eisuke sent us to find out how she was doing.’ 'Maybe you should sit down, you look a little pale Mamo,’ Baba remarked, looking concerned as a doctor called for Sakiko. 'How is she?’ 'Doctor, this is Mamoru Kishi,’ Sakiko remarked, a flicker of recognition showing in the doctor’s expression as she regarded him calmly. 'Detective, your girlfriend has been asking for you…If you’d like to follow me, I can take you to her.’ 'Thank you.’ Feeling mild relief at the knowledge he could at least see you, Mamoru followed the Doctor down what felt like a maze of corridors as she explained your situation. 'We’ve determined that the break was not as severe as might have been expected with the way in which she obtained her injury. She will be off her feet for several weeks…’ 'But she’ll make a full recovery?’ 'Yes, with rest and a good support network around her. She will do just fine. Once she is able to put weight on her foot, we’ll schedule some appointments with our physio department to ensure that her recovery is managed. We’ve given her some pain relief and dressed her foot. She’s still quite shaken by what happened, so we’re just keeping her here for a little while longer to ensure she doesn’t go into shock. But given her progress, I’d say we can discharge her in the next hour.’ 'Right, thank you Doctor,’ Mamoru responded, feeling as though he was barely digesting all the information as she stood aside to allow him into the room where you were currently resting. 'Mamoru…’ you breathed, your eyes filling with tears as you sat up to greet him. 'Hey there sweetheart,’ Mamoru responded weakly, showing no desire to tease you as he enveloped you in his arms. Hearing a muffled sob, Mamoru pulled you closer as he breathed in your familiar scent. 'It’s all okay now, I’m right here and I ain’t goin’ anywhere.’ Nodding into his chest, you stayed in his arms, allowing his presence to calm you as the pain relief took effect. After a while longer, the doctor was satisfied that you were settled enough to be discharged, with Mamoru pushing you out in a wheelchair to the lobby where the others were waiting for you. 'Are you okay?’ 'Yes, I’m so sorry I ruined our day out,’ you responded, feeling the weight of guilt on your shoulders when Sakiko shook her head firmly. 'You’re my friend and you’d have done the same for me. Besides, there’s plenty of occasions that we can find to go shopping once your foot is all better,’ she smiled cheerfully, handing your bag to you after holding onto it. 'Baba, Ota…’ 'Hey pretty lady…’ 'How are you feeling?’ 'Better than I was, but I’ll be glad to get home,’ you admitted, feeling grateful to have them there as Mamoru put a hand on your shoulder. 'Come on then sweetheart, let’s get you outta this place.’ Driving you back to Tres Spades, Mamoru insisted on carrying you from the car to the elevator, where you headed straight for the penthouse floor. 'You wanna lie down baby girl?’ 'Please,’ you nodded, feeling drained as you nestled into Mamoru’s arms, with the pain in your foot numbed from the medication. Once you were tucked in comfortably, you had fallen asleep almost instantly, the late afternoon light highlighting how pale you were as Mamoru drew the curtains. 'You scared the livin’ daylights outta me today, sweetheart,’ Mamoru admitted, running a hand through his hair as he watched you sleep. 'I’m sorry…I should have been there. I should have done something. I’m a freakin’ detective and my job is to keep people safe. What the hell’s the point in it if I can’t keep you safe?’ he remarked, his tone full of self-loathing as he gently trailed a hand through your hair. ‘Truth is, I dunno what I’d do without you sweetheart. I know I can be lazy and kind of a slob. I know you deserve better. But I ain’t ever gonna let you go. I’m gonna do my damnedest to show you just how much you mean to me. I promise.’ Though you hadn’t heard his confession, Mamoru vowed one day to tell you those very words face to face. When you woke up a few hours later, a pleasant smell drifted in from the living room as you pushed yourself up on the bed, feeling a twinge of pain in your foot as you did so. ‘Hey, just in time,’ Mamoru remarked, walking into the room with a tray in one hand and a box in the other. ‘Mamo…’ 'I ain’t really all that much of a cook, so I had Eisuke sort out some room service for you. An’ well, I also went and got this,’ he added, setting down the box by your side. Opening it, you found a selection of cakes from your favourite little bakery. ‘You went and got these for me?’ you asked, your eyes lighting up as Mamoru blushed slightly. ‘Course I did. I mean, I know it ain’t much, but…’ ‘It’s perfect,’ you cut in, sounding perfectly confident of it as Mamoru tousled your hair slightly, while looking embarrassed at the praise. Over the next few days, Mamoru had kept you company in the start of your recovery, watching films and tv shows with you that you had been asking about for a while. When you felt a little more confident on your crutches, you began to venture out into the penthouse level where the other bidders were often working or making some sort of wager. Finding yourself at the receiving end of their subtle acts of kindness, you couldn’t help but feel the appreciation that the bidders had for you as you sat with them and listened to their usual banter. But when Mamoru gripped your hand tightly in his and refused to let go, that in itself was more than enough. Leaning your head against his shoulder as he bickered with Baba and Soryu, Mamoru suddenly fell silent and put a hand on your head as he soon continued his argument. Though as soon as he was able, Mamoru leaned in to whisper sweet words into your ear, promising you a night you would never forget, in spite of your injury. ‘Be ready for me sweetheart…’

Eisuke - Eisuke had been in a business meeting with the board of executives who were responsible for the management and research into potential new sites for Tres Spades to expand their business. While listening to the insufferably dull tones of one of his staff, Eisuke found himself growing more irritable when the doors to the board room suddenly opened. ‘Mr. Ichinomiya, sir-’ ‘What is it Kenzaki?’ Eisuke cut in with a clipped tone, denoting his frustration at this interruption. ‘Sir, I apologise for the intrusion, but there’s been an accident. It requires your immediate attention.’ Seeing the uneasy expression that Kenzaki held, Eisuke’s eyes widened. There was only one reason Kenzaki would come straight to him over something like this. ‘I’m sure it can wait, Mr. Ichinomiya-’ ‘Speak on my behalf like that again and I will fire you,’ Eisuke snapped, getting to his feet as he dismissed the meeting. ‘But Mr. Ichinomiya, the overseas contracts-’ ‘Can wait. This takes precedence.’ Without allowing any room for further argument, Eisuke strode from the office with Kenzaki struggling to keep up. ‘What the hell happened Kenzaki?’ ‘We had a problem with one of the lights in the bar area for the pre-auction drinks.’ ‘You called for maintenance?’ ‘I was not approached until the accident happened. It appears your girlfriend was told by one of the other maids to try and remedy the problem herself. There was no one to support the ladder she was on and it fell.’ Coming to a halt, Eisuke looked at Kenzaki in pure disbelief for a moment before demanding to know where you were. ‘Mr. Oh and Mr. Kisaki called for Doctor Luke and took her to him.’ ‘I want to know who did this. I want security footage and I want whoever is responsible to be in my office when I am ready for them, regardless of whether their shift has ended or not. I expect them there or I will have your job as well as theirs.’ ‘Sir,’ Kenzaki nodded, leaving Eisuke alone to head to Luke’s office. In his anger, however, Eisuke had been unprepared for seeing you in such a state of pain. In that moment, everything else vanished. Eisuke was not the billionaire owner of Tres Spades. The ruthless businessman, feared, intimidated and admired by those around him. Going to your side, Eisuke ignored Luke entirely as he took your hands in his. 'E-Eisuke…but you had a meeting…’ 'Shh…forget work and focus on me, okay?’ You knew it wasn’t a request, but Eisuke’s tone was incredibly gentle, as though you might shatter if he spoke too loudly. Biting your lip as you whimpered in pain, Eisuke gently brushed away the tears that slipped down your cheeks. 'It hurts…’ you stammered. 'It’s broken,’ Luke stated as he set your foot down carefully. 'Broken?’ Eisuke repeated in surprise. He knew it had been bad to warrant such a panic from Kenzaki, but he hadn’t expected that. Refocusing his attention on you; Eisuke gently eased you closer so that your head could rest on his shoulder. 'What am I going to do with you?’ He sighed, though his voice betrayed the worry behind his words as he brushed his lips against your forehead. 'Do what you can Luke…’ 'Of course,’ he nodded, before offering you a glance and a semblance of a smile. Realising Luke’s attempt to put you at ease, you tried your best to relax as he tended to you while Eisuke held your hand. Once Luke was satisfied that he had done all he could for you, you were taken up to the penthouse to rest. Having some tea prepared ahead of your arrival, Eisuke settled you down on the sofa before going to pour you a drink. After ensuring you were comfortable, Eisuke removed his jacket and tie, unbuttoning the top of his shirt a little before heading into the bedroom. Returning a few moments later, Eisuke held two pillows in his hand and a large fluffy throw from the end of the bed you shared. After carefully draping it over you and helping you to settle into the pillows, Eisuke sat down by your side, lightly stroking your hair as you drank your tea, though your hands were a little unsteady. Placing his over yours, he could feel the slight chill from your skin as he lightly pressed a kiss to your temple. Taking your cup and placing it on the coffee table, Eisuke wrapped you up in his arms, allowing you to hear how hard his heart was beating in his chest. Your moment of peace was soon interrupted when Eisuke’s phone chimed. 'I’m busy,’ he snapped over the phone, apparently intending to hang up when something stopped him. 'Have them wait outside my office. I’ll be there when I am quite satisfied that I am not needed here and after I have reviewed the footage for myself. Until you see me in person, do not call me again, or I will have your job. Do I make myself clear?’ Tossing his phone over to the chair opposite you after he had ended the call, Eisuke heaved a sigh as he placed his arms around you once more. 'You don’t have to stay…’ 'You are my priority. Everything else is worthless without you at my side. It can wait…’ Sensing that Eisuke blamed himself somehow for your accident, you decided not to pursue the topic further. But right now, you needed him. You couldn’t deny that. Eisuke made you feel safe and having him close kept you calm as the pain in your foot dulled. 'You should eat…do you feel like you could?’ Nodding in agreement, a small smile graced Eisuke’s lips as he kissed you softly. It wasn’t much, but if he could do something for you, then perhaps he wouldn’t feel so useless. Eisuke was not the self-loathing type. He had no patience for that sort of thing. But right now, he couldn’t help but consider all the things you did for him. Of course, he had done things to make you smile. He’d move mountains for that smile. But in reality, he had rarely done something personally. You made him coffee, took him some dinner if he was working late. You made the effort with all of the little details. Eisuke could arrange almost anything with a few phone-calls. But you truly put your heart into everything you did for him. That had never weighed as heavily on his mind as he did now. Over the next few weeks, Eisuke took a back seat from handling things at the hotel in order to be with you while you recovered from your injury. After discovering that your accident had been caused by three maids who had often caused you trouble, Eisuke had dismissed them without a second thought. Though Eisuke hadn’t let your broken foot stop him from spoiling you. He still took you out, ensuring that you had a car to meet you at each end of the journey’s you both took to various restaurants and shows. He even took you on a late night picnic, bringing you to one of the best spots on the city limits for stargazing as the two of you cuddled up on a blanket with an additional comforter wrapped around you for warmth. 'I love you,’ Eisuke breathed, capturing your chin in his fingertips as he brought your gaze to meet his. 'I love you too,’ you responded, a light blush touching your cheeks as Eisuke offered you a kind smile. Breaking your foot had been a horrible experience and you knew Eisuke had blamed himself for not being able to prevent it. But that didn’t matter. The warmth Eisuke brought to your heart was all you had and would ever need as you surrendered to his passionate kisses.

So there you have it! I’ve been working on this one for ages it seems! Thankfully I have another one thats already in progress, so I’m looking forward to continuing with it!

Eyes - Soryu Oh (AU)

anonymous asked:
hi! i’ve messaged a few times on anon - are you taking au blurb requests still? i can’t find the post you had up a few days ago. if so can i request soryu and mc where they’re friends from younger years and she wants him to make a move on her??? thanks! xx

It was 4am; Friday or Saturday you weren’t sure - Soryu stood in front of you in the elevator rather protectively although you were the only two in the tiny space; a gentle hand on your waist to keep you steady - to try and keep you upright - the one way right now you didn’t want to be. The catch up drinks you’d planned with your girlfriends were just meant to be a fun and carefree - little did you think you’d find yourself at a club, find yourself dancing on a table top, find yourself being pulled out of a situation with a guy by your best friend who could only be describe as a creep. You had known each other since high school; he was the book worm and you the social butterfly. You hadn’t thought much of it back then but it was undeniable that Soryu had grown to be a perfect catch - tall, dark and handsome. For some reason though whether it be sheer shyness, lack of interest or external factors such as your crazy parents - Soryu had never made a move on you. Feeling hot beneath the little black dress you had on which clung to your curves and dipped dangerously low at the valley of your breasts - you sighed and let your chest rise and fall; a move you noticed he was near positively paying attention to. With a slick of vodka raspberry still on your breath and confidence to match, you glanced over to the level buttons which were lighting up as the elevator rose past floors 32, 33, 34 and knew you’d have time before it got to the 51st floor. Running your fingertips softly across his jaw, fingers falling to his pressed collar and straight down the buttons of his shirt, you notice how Soryu’s eyes followed your gesture. It was how they’d followed you all night - when he saw you in the club, when he caught you in his arms after you jumped off the table top and how he couldn’t tear them away as you crawled into the backseat of the cab after he insisted he take you home. Pushing up onto the tips of your toes; you brushed your lips hot against his own with an unreserved moan. Resting your forehead against his, you smirked - eyes filled with a lust and curiosity you knew you couldn’t just share on your own. Fingers at the side of his face, you snapped them quickly - pulling to attention those grey eyes so that they peered straight into yours. “You’ve been looking at me all night Oh. Stop undressing me with your eyes… ”, you murmured quietly as the elevator doors began to open, “…use your teeth.”

Swapped (MPD) Hiroshi Kirisawa x MC

A request from @annamreeds-fanfic (funny, can’t tag your main blog but this one…) and I LOVED it! Have fun with some fluffy Kirisawa.

“I’m home!” Kirisawa called when he opened the door. It was nice to know that he shared a place with his wife. It was even nicer to think of her as his wife. Since they have gotten married three months ago the honeymoon bliss didn’t end. He had assumed that eventually it would fade and step back, make room for the daily life, but this phase was yet to come. Still, he was sure that he would even enjoy that time, when they were a bit settled, mentally and emotionally.

When he got no answer he assumed that she was still out shopping, after all it was her turn today. With a frown he remembered how tired and pale she had been that morning. He only hoped that she hadn’t overworked herself again.

Hiroshi threw the mail he had gathered onto the counter in the kitchen and prepared some tea. She would like this, coming home and tea was already waiting for her. These small things were important in a relationship, he was sure of that. Little gestures that show the significant other that you care. It was not about huge and expensive presents, not about big declarations of love. It was about thinking about the other whatever you did. That was his conviction.

While the water was boiling he grabbed the mail and browsed through it. He smiled when he found an envelope addressed to ‘Mrs. Kirisawa’. He knew it was somehow old fashioned, but he loved to see the proof that they belonged together, was it the wedding band on their fingers or his last name after her first name. Of course he didn’t open her mail. He still respected her privacy after all. And he already knew what it was since he had gotten the same letter. The results of the annual medical examination that every MPD employee had to take.

He didn’t expect any problems with that. Except for smoking every once in a while and a beer from time to time he didn’t have unhealthy habits. He worked out, ate healthy, tried to sleep as much as possible. Of course the job was stressful and the hours often odd, but until now every examination just confirmed that he was sound as a bell. But what he read in the letter made him blink. He frowned. Checked the results again. Frowned even more.

‘Not suitable for field work.’

What was the problem? Blood pressure? Okay. Liver function test? Also fine. He scanned the whole letter. There! There it was! Blood tests! He read it and blinked again. What?! This had to be a mistake! Someone obviously had made a mistake and now Kirisawa was the one who had to correct it. This couldn’t be the truth! He turned the letter in his trembling hands. Checked the address once more. Fuck!
