KBTBB Request - How the bidders react when MC breaks her foot head-canon
So I received a request from the lovely @dreamysushi for a head canon where the bidders take care of MC when she breaks her foot.
It’s been a good 3 months at least since I last posted a head-canon. This has honestly been down to a lot of things going on at once. A relative of mine was seriously ill and is struggling in their recovery, so I’ve been having to assist where I can in dealing with medical professionals regarding their condition.
I also posted recently about the shock of losing my youngest cat Kero at only 2 and half years old.
I have still been writing all this time, I’ve just not been able to write an awful lot. Hence the lack of updates. I am going to try my best to update more frequently from now on, so hopefully this will be the last time I have to address this sort of thing with regards to any delays!
Baba - Baba had been away gathering new artworks for the latest IVC when news reached him that you had been involved in an accident at Tres Spades.
If the fact that you had broken your foot wasn’t bad enough; Baba had been furious to discover that he was only being informed several days after the fact.
Abandoning his work; Baba was on the next flight back to Tokyo, with numerous thoughts as to how he was going to make the other Bidders suffer upon his return.
Baba was an easy-going man, he was rare to anger. But this was entirely unacceptable.
Arriving early the following morning; Tres Spades was still in a light slumber, with only a few guests making their departure as Baba walked briskly through the lounge.
After a member of staff at the front desk nodded to the thief, he went into the elevator and headed straight for the penthouse floor, where he discovered Soryu and Eisuke were already awake and discussing the next IVC.
‘You owe me ten thousand,’ Soryu commented dryly to Eisuke as he saw Baba walk into the room, though the thief could only feel thankful you were not there.
Neither could recall a time they had ever seen Baba so infuriated, though he seemed to calm a little at the knowledge that you had been well tended to in his absence.
‘The woman didn’t want to disturb you when you were away on business,’ Soryu remarked, trying to placate Baba as best he could.
‘I have only ever made one request when I go to retrieve pieces of art for the IVC and that is that you keep her safe,’ Baba responded, his voice tense as he regarded the two with evident irritation.
‘Baba?’
In that moment however, everything changed as Baba turned to see you in the doorway to the Penthouse Lounge, hobbling on crutches as you came into the room.
‘Good morning pretty lady,’ he smiled, his eyes radiating concern as he removed his fedora. ‘I was just about to come and join you. It’s still early…’
‘But you weren’t supposed to be home for another week…’
'How could I possibly stay away when my Princess is wounded?’ Baba responded, his words heartfelt as you smiled up at him. Though you soon caught sight of Eisuke and Soryu.
‘Oh, I didn’t mean to interrupt-’
‘Not at all, make yourself comfortable,’ Soryu replied, sounding more friendly than you had ever recalled in the time that you had known him.
‘I was actually just going to try and rest a little more,’ you responded, offering Baba a warm smile when he strode up and swept you off your feet, leaving your crutches to fall to the floor.
‘Now what kind of gentleman would I be if I didn’t tend to my lady when she is in distress?’ Baba remarked, his expression warm as he kissed your forehead softly.
‘Boss, if you’d just bring her crutches,’ he added, glancing back with a dangerous air to his tone that Eisuke did not argue with.
Walking down the corridor, Mamoru had just appeared when, upon seeing Baba, he turned straight back for his room.
‘Mamoru? Are you okay?’ you asked in concern.
‘Ain’t enough sleep in the world is gonna make me ready for that conversation,’ he responded dryly, going back into his room as Baba ignored the detective and took you back to the suite you shared.
'Mr. Ichinomiya told you I’d fallen?’
'Yes…’
'I’m sorry…I didn’t want to worry you. I didn’t intend to make you mad at the others. I just thought…’
'Don’t be silly beautiful lady,’ Baba assured you, kissing your forehead softly.
'I’d have been mad with them anyway. Your safety is of paramount importance to me,’ he remarked, trailing a slightly shaky hand through your hair as you realised just how much he must have fretted.
Leaning your face into his hand, you pressed a soft kiss against his wrist as he regarded you with surprise.
'I missed you…so much.’
'I missed you more pretty lady,’ he responded, his voice warm as he leant in to kiss you.
'I couldn’t wait to wrap you in my arms,’ he admitted, a slight blush touching his cheeks as you pushed yourself into his lap.
Over the next few weeks, Baba had been nothing but attentive to you.
He carried you like a princess from room to room as he prepared you favourite meals and gave you every moment of his day.
While at first you had been sure that the other bidders would tease you, they had been kinder than you had expected.
Though when you mentioned it to Baba something about his smile made you think he’d had some part in it…
'You shouldn’t be so mean to them…they were very kind while you were away,’ you remarked, chiding him lightly as he offered you a dazzling smile.
'I have to punish them for not taking care of my greatest treasure. You are the one thing that is irreplaceable to me and I will always protect you.’
Looking up from your place in his lap as you talked, you kissed him softly on the cheek, taking him by surprise and throwing off his whole plan as the other bidders walked in.
'Be nice,’ you murmured with a slight giggle into his ear.
Broken foot or not, he was going to punish you later for that. In the most loving way possible.
Soryu - When Inui had gone in to Soryu’s office after Eisuke was unable to reach him, Soryu had initially been annoyed by the interruption, until Inui hurriedly explained that it concerned you.
For you, Soryu would make any and every exception.
When he had been told that you had an accident at work; his face had completely drained of all colour.
Insisting that Inui divert all of his calls, Soryu headed straight for Tres Spades.
‘Soryu.’
Finding Eisuke awaiting him in the lobby, Soryu ran to his old friend, demanding to know what had happened.
‘Luke’s tending to her now,’ Eisuke explained as they headed towards the penthouse level.
‘She was attempting to reach a fixture that appeared to be damaged when her foot caught in the ladder.’
‘Don’t you have maintenance for that? How could you let her do something so dangerous?!’ Soryu snapped, his tone irate as Eisuke regarded his best friend calmly.
‘Believe me, I have taken every step to ensure those involved have been sufficiently disciplined for their actions.’
Feeling the intensity of the mobster’s gaze, Eisuke promptly directed Soryu in your direction as a whimper of pain emitted from the room.
Bursting in through the door, Soryu found you, clutching to the sides of your chair with a pained expression, though at seeing your boyfriend, a smile of relief touched your lips.
'Sor…’
'I’m here,’ Soryu remarked, his voice softening instantly as he took your outstretched hand and squeezed it lightly.
'I’m sorry…you were so busy today. I told Mr. Ichinomiya-’
'You are my priority,’ Soryu interrupted, lacing his fingers through your hair when you winced again in pain.
'What the hell are you doing to her?’ Soryu growled, reaching for his weapon as Luke glanced up, entirely unfazed by Soryu’s threatening tone.
'I have to try and determine the severity of the break in order to know how to proceed,’ he stated.
'Seems like a crime in itself for sexy bones to have a broken bone…’ He continued, mumbling to himself as Soryu resisted the urge to react to Luke’s comments.
'It’s broken?’
‘Without a doubt. I’m afraid you’ll be off your feet for the next six to eight weeks.’
'Weeks?’ you breathed, your voice stunned.
'There’s nothing I can do to speed up the healing process. The bones are still aligned. That’s what matters right now.’
Binding your wound and putting on a splint for support, Luke gave you some pain medication and crutches.
'Make sure you rest. Keep your foot elevated where possible for the first few days and under no circumstance should you put weight on that foot. Use your crutches. If you don’t, it will delay the healing process and potentially cause further damage if you try to walk on it prematurely.’
'Thank you Luke…I’m sorry to have troubled you.’
'Not at all,’ Luke responded dismissively, nodding to Soryu as he packed away his equipment and left you both alone.
Seeing the news settle in, your expression clouded over as Soryu watched your eyes glaze with tears.
Pulling you in close, you were surprised by his sudden embrace as you breathed in his familiar, comforting scent.
'You’re safe…that’s all that matters. Let’s go home,’ he breathed softly, holding you for a moment longer before lifting you into his arms.
'But you have meetings all day,’ you responded, looking concerned as Soryu pressed a gentle kiss to your forehead.
'You are far more important to me than anything else. The meetings can wait.’
Feeling a warmth in your heart, you couldn’t help but become emotional as you buried yourself in your boyfriends chest.
'Thank you…’
Taking you back to his condo where he didn’t have to contend with the other bidders, Soryu settled you onto the bed, heeding Luke’s advice and encouraging you to rest awhile.
After ensuring you were comfortable, Soryu assured you he’d be right back as he went to make a call.
Dealing with any matters Inui had for him, Soryu gave his orders and made arrangements to take the next week off to help you settle into your recovery.
When it had transpired that Erika had forced you to undertake the maintenance task which led to your broken foot, Soryu had been initially livid.
He knew of course why you wouldn’t have told Soryu or even Eisuke about it. But it was not something that either of them would let slide.
If it hadn’t been for Eisuke’s assurance that Erika had been fired with the threat of legal action over your injuries, Soryu would have headed straight back to Tres Spades.
But just knowing that you needed him was enough to calm the mobster and remind him of his priorities.
Over the next few days, Soryu took it upon himself to ensure you were well taken care of. He helped you between rooms, cooked for you and stayed in your company. Even if you were both silently engrossed in a book, you appreciated Soryu’s presence all the same.
In that time, Soryu on the other hand, had been reminded of how much you did for him. You were always so thoughtful and kind in the way that you cared for your boyfriend, but now, he was even more aware of all that you did for him.
Once you had started to be able to move around more easily on your crutches, you had wanted to get out of the house more. So, after some persuasion, Soryu agreed to take you to the Ice Dragons office.
While Soryu fretted you might overexert yourself, he soon came to realise just how much brighter you made his working day.
If you weren’t with him in his office, just hearing you talk and laugh with his subordinates was enough to make him smile. Everyone took to you so easily and they had come to see you as family. They’d have protected you even without Soryu’s orders. It was just your nature.
As you came into his office that afternoon, you had a bag on the handgrip of one of your crutches as you made your way to his desk.
'Hey, are you busy? Or can you take a break?’
'For you, I can always make time,’ he smiled, setting down his pen as you placed the bag on his desk.
'I asked Inui to take me to a new bakery I’d heard about, I wanted to get you something,’ you remarked, watching him open the box and reveal a beautiful array of cakes and pastries.
Standing up and walking around the desk, Soryu closed the distance between you as he captured your lips with his in a passionate kiss that left you weak in his arms.
'You’re perfect…don’t ever believe any different,’ he murmured softly in your ear, holding you close as you submitted to his sweet embrace.
Ota - Ota had been assessing some of Baba’s artworks for the latest IVC’s on a Thursday afternoon. The main showroom was abuzz with people setting up the stage and lighting for the IVC’s auctions.
While Ota had been forced to get up at midday, his mood was uplifted when he discovered that Eisuke had sent you down to assist with the preparations.
Hearing some of the workers complain about the positioning of one of the lighting beams, Ota was oblivious to them as he gazed fondly at you, only to be interrupted by a disgruntled Eisuke.
'I wouldn’t have called her down here if she was going to distract you.’
Glancing up at hearing their discussion, you immediately blushed at Ota’s gaze as you hurried along to do something backstage.
'Can we please get back to work?’
'Jealousy is a powerful thing. Fed up of the tactless bimbo’s are you?’
'Just shut up and check the authenticity of these paintings,’ Eisuke stated, ending the conversation when a large snap sounded from above them.
'Look out!’
Hearing your voice, Ota’s heart leapt into his throat as he turned in time to hear your screams as you struggled beneath the weight of the beam that had trapped you in an effort to push another member of staff out of the way.
'Get this off her, now!’ Ota shouted, running to your side and dropping to his knees as he gripped your hands in his.
'Ota…’ you breathed, your tone pleading as tears streamed down your eyes.
'It’s okay, we’re going to get it off you,’ he responded, his voice desperate as he turned to see that your foot was caught beneath the weight of the beam.
As two men lifted it off you, Ota quickly pulled you into his arms with Eisuke calling for Luke as he also knelt beside you.
'We’re going to get you up to the Penthouse,’ he remarked, his voice uncharacteristically soft as he looked to Ota.
'She needs to be somewhere quiet so that Luke can tend to her.’
After hearing the commotion, Soryu and Baba appeared, offering their assistance as you were taken up to the penthouse suite that you and Ota shared.
Throughout your ordeal, Ota remained unmoving, holding your hand as he remained by your side while Luke checked your injury.
It had shaken him to his core hearing your screams. The only thing shutting the all too fresh memory from his mind was the occasional comment from Luke and Ota’s own assurances that it would all be okay.
While you had some idea that your foot was broken, having it determined only sparked a wave of emotion as tears slipped down your cheek.
Feeling Ota’s hand grip yours, you turned to him as best you could as Ota moved to wrap himself around you from behind.
When Luke came to leave, he opened the door to find the other bidders hovering around just outside.
'I trust that I don’t need to repeat myself?’ Luke remarked with a slightly raised brow.
'Thank you,’ Eisuke nodded, putting a hand on his friend’s shoulder before joining the other bidders.
'Jeez kid, you’re a lot tougher than I gave you credit for,’ Mamoru remarked as you wiped your eyes.
'It’s not good to see such a pretty lady cry,’ Baba sighed.
'You probably saved that guy’s life though, you’re a lot stronger than you look woman,’ Soryu added, evoking a weak smile from you as you thanked everyone for being so kind.
'I’m not going to partake in the IVC,’ Ota stated firmly, looking straight at Eisuke.
'It’s cancelled,’ Eisuke stated matter-of-factly.
'What?’ You responded in surprise, looking between the two as you noted how pale Ota was.
'I ordered safety checks to be carried out after what happened today. Until I am satisfied that nothing like this will happen again, there will be no IVC.’
'Just focus on getting the woman better. She’s tougher than she looks,’ Soryu remarked.
'Agreed,’ Eisuke chimed in as you smiled at them appreciatively
'Thank you…’
After offering a few more words, the bidders left you alone with Ota.
The moment the door was closed, you found yourself buried in Ota’s chest as he held you in a shaky embrace.
'Are you okay? Does it hurt?’
Hearing the worry in his voice, you could also sense a touch of guilt.
'Only because I had you beside me,’ you admitted truthfully.
'I was scared…but then you were there and I felt calmer. As though I’d be okay.’
'Hearing you scream, seeing you in so much pain…it took years off my life. You’re more than my muse. You are my everything. My whole life,’ he expressed, cupping your face in his hands as you both became tearful.
'So please…don’t ever leave.’
It was so rare for Ota to truly open up and bare his feelings to you. It was clear he was shaken, but as soon as the words left his mouth, he was already moving you to the bed.
'You should rest.’
’ Ota…’
'I can’t let you get cold now. So let me take care of you…okay?’
Finally relenting to his wishes, you allowed Ota to help you settle into bed before he got in with you. Allowing yourself to be wrapped up in his arms, you slept that way all night long, with Ota watching over you.
While you recovered, Ota took you to his studio almost every day and had you in his lap while he was sketching. Encouraging you to give him suggestions, he found his art taking a new direction as you offered your input.
The results couldn’t have been any more beautiful in his mind.
When you weren’t helping Ota with his art, he treated you to loving dates at home, in the comfort of your penthouse suite and assisted you as you began to regain the use of your foot.
Standing before you a few weeks into your recovery, Ota held your hands in his as you began to walk, feeling somewhat unsteady, though Ota would never allow you to fall.
Through it all; you both became undeniably closer, but if Ota had learnt one thing from that experience, it was to never take the ones you love for granted. He would never let you go a day without knowing just how much you mattered.
Mamoru - Being put on a kidnapping case, Mamoru had been working a lot of overtime during the last two weeks.
While you were perfectly understanding of the situation; Mamoru couldn’t help but feel some guilt at neglecting you when he finally returned home, only to sleep and shower before returning to the station.
While briefing several officers on the description and sketch of the suspect given by witnesses, Mamoru had initially been irked to hear his phone ringing and quickly nudged it to silent as he talked over the details with police, having recognised the ringtone as Baba’s.
With the child finally found and reunited with his parents, Mamoru was hoping to push the paperwork onto someone else and take a nap. He’d deal with the perpetrator when he was brought in.
Getting into his office, Mamoru grumbled at his office phone ringing. Ignoring it initially, Mamoru had barely sat down and lit another cigarette when one of the senior officers came barging in.
'What? Can’t you see I’m busy?’
'Detective Kishi, it’s your girlfriend. She’s been in an accident.’
How could this have happened?
You weren’t even working today…or were you? Spending the better part of his journey to the hospital trying to recall his last conversation with you, Mamoru felt the guilt weighing heavily in his chest as he breathed more deeply.
He hadn’t touched his cigarette’s since he received the message.
Running into the hospital’s main entrance, Mamoru had bolted straight for the desk when he heard another voice.
'Sakiko, where is she?’ Mamoru remarked, his voice straining as he tried not to let his emotions get the better of him.
'They took her for x-rays. We were out shopping and she got knocked into the road when we were stood at a crossing.’
'Shit…Shit. Shit!’ Mamoru breathed, pushing a hand roughly through his hair.
'She’s gonna be okay. They said it’s mostly just scrapes and bruises, it’s her leg they were most concerned about. Her foot got caught under a tyre.’
'Mamoru.’
Turning to see Baba and Ota approaching them, Mamoru was confused as to how they knew he was here.
'Sakiko got in touch with the hotel when you didn’t answer your work phone in case you were at the penthouse and left a message. Eisuke sent us to find out how she was doing.’
'Maybe you should sit down, you look a little pale Mamo,’ Baba remarked, looking concerned as a doctor called for Sakiko.
'How is she?’
'Doctor, this is Mamoru Kishi,’ Sakiko remarked, a flicker of recognition showing in the doctor’s expression as she regarded him calmly.
'Detective, your girlfriend has been asking for you…If you’d like to follow me, I can take you to her.’
'Thank you.’
Feeling mild relief at the knowledge he could at least see you, Mamoru followed the Doctor down what felt like a maze of corridors as she explained your situation.
'We’ve determined that the break was not as severe as might have been expected with the way in which she obtained her injury. She will be off her feet for several weeks…’
'But she’ll make a full recovery?’
'Yes, with rest and a good support network around her. She will do just fine. Once she is able to put weight on her foot, we’ll schedule some appointments with our physio department to ensure that her recovery is managed. We’ve given her some pain relief and dressed her foot. She’s still quite shaken by what happened, so we’re just keeping her here for a little while longer to ensure she doesn’t go into shock. But given her progress, I’d say we can discharge her in the next hour.’
'Right, thank you Doctor,’ Mamoru responded, feeling as though he was barely digesting all the information as she stood aside to allow him into the room where you were currently resting.
'Mamoru…’ you breathed, your eyes filling with tears as you sat up to greet him.
'Hey there sweetheart,’ Mamoru responded weakly, showing no desire to tease you as he enveloped you in his arms.
Hearing a muffled sob, Mamoru pulled you closer as he breathed in your familiar scent.
'It’s all okay now, I’m right here and I ain’t goin’ anywhere.’
Nodding into his chest, you stayed in his arms, allowing his presence to calm you as the pain relief took effect.
After a while longer, the doctor was satisfied that you were settled enough to be discharged, with Mamoru pushing you out in a wheelchair to the lobby where the others were waiting for you.
'Are you okay?’
'Yes, I’m so sorry I ruined our day out,’ you responded, feeling the weight of guilt on your shoulders when Sakiko shook her head firmly.
'You’re my friend and you’d have done the same for me. Besides, there’s plenty of occasions that we can find to go shopping once your foot is all better,’ she smiled cheerfully, handing your bag to you after holding onto it.
'Baba, Ota…’
'Hey pretty lady…’
'How are you feeling?’
'Better than I was, but I’ll be glad to get home,’ you admitted, feeling grateful to have them there as Mamoru put a hand on your shoulder.
'Come on then sweetheart, let’s get you outta this place.’
Driving you back to Tres Spades, Mamoru insisted on carrying you from the car to the elevator, where you headed straight for the penthouse floor.
'You wanna lie down baby girl?’
'Please,’ you nodded, feeling drained as you nestled into Mamoru’s arms, with the pain in your foot numbed from the medication.
Once you were tucked in comfortably, you had fallen asleep almost instantly, the late afternoon light highlighting how pale you were as Mamoru drew the curtains.
'You scared the livin’ daylights outta me today, sweetheart,’ Mamoru admitted, running a hand through his hair as he watched you sleep.
'I’m sorry…I should have been there. I should have done something. I’m a freakin’ detective and my job is to keep people safe. What the hell’s the point in it if I can’t keep you safe?’ he remarked, his tone full of self-loathing as he gently trailed a hand through your hair.
‘Truth is, I dunno what I’d do without you sweetheart. I know I can be lazy and kind of a slob. I know you deserve better. But I ain’t ever gonna let you go. I’m gonna do my damnedest to show you just how much you mean to me. I promise.’
Though you hadn’t heard his confession, Mamoru vowed one day to tell you those very words face to face.
When you woke up a few hours later, a pleasant smell drifted in from the living room as you pushed yourself up on the bed, feeling a twinge of pain in your foot as you did so.
‘Hey, just in time,’ Mamoru remarked, walking into the room with a tray in one hand and a box in the other.
‘Mamo…’
'I ain’t really all that much of a cook, so I had Eisuke sort out some room service for you. An’ well, I also went and got this,’ he added, setting down the box by your side.
Opening it, you found a selection of cakes from your favourite little bakery.
‘You went and got these for me?’ you asked, your eyes lighting up as Mamoru blushed slightly.
‘Course I did. I mean, I know it ain’t much, but…’
‘It’s perfect,’ you cut in, sounding perfectly confident of it as Mamoru tousled your hair slightly, while looking embarrassed at the praise.
Over the next few days, Mamoru had kept you company in the start of your recovery, watching films and tv shows with you that you had been asking about for a while. When you felt a little more confident on your crutches, you began to venture out into the penthouse level where the other bidders were often working or making some sort of wager.
Finding yourself at the receiving end of their subtle acts of kindness, you couldn’t help but feel the appreciation that the bidders had for you as you sat with them and listened to their usual banter.
But when Mamoru gripped your hand tightly in his and refused to let go, that in itself was more than enough.
Leaning your head against his shoulder as he bickered with Baba and Soryu, Mamoru suddenly fell silent and put a hand on your head as he soon continued his argument.
Though as soon as he was able, Mamoru leaned in to whisper sweet words into your ear, promising you a night you would never forget, in spite of your injury.
‘Be ready for me sweetheart…’
Eisuke - Eisuke had been in a business meeting with the board of executives who were responsible for the management and research into potential new sites for Tres Spades to expand their business.
While listening to the insufferably dull tones of one of his staff, Eisuke found himself growing more irritable when the doors to the board room suddenly opened.
‘Mr. Ichinomiya, sir-’
‘What is it Kenzaki?’ Eisuke cut in with a clipped tone, denoting his frustration at this interruption.
‘Sir, I apologise for the intrusion, but there’s been an accident. It requires your immediate attention.’
Seeing the uneasy expression that Kenzaki held, Eisuke’s eyes widened. There was only one reason Kenzaki would come straight to him over something like this.
‘I’m sure it can wait, Mr. Ichinomiya-’
‘Speak on my behalf like that again and I will fire you,’ Eisuke snapped, getting to his feet as he dismissed the meeting.
‘But Mr. Ichinomiya, the overseas contracts-’
‘Can wait. This takes precedence.’
Without allowing any room for further argument, Eisuke strode from the office with Kenzaki struggling to keep up.
‘What the hell happened Kenzaki?’
‘We had a problem with one of the lights in the bar area for the pre-auction drinks.’
‘You called for maintenance?’
‘I was not approached until the accident happened. It appears your girlfriend was told by one of the other maids to try and remedy the problem herself. There was no one to support the ladder she was on and it fell.’
Coming to a halt, Eisuke looked at Kenzaki in pure disbelief for a moment before demanding to know where you were.
‘Mr. Oh and Mr. Kisaki called for Doctor Luke and took her to him.’
‘I want to know who did this. I want security footage and I want whoever is responsible to be in my office when I am ready for them, regardless of whether their shift has ended or not. I expect them there or I will have your job as well as theirs.’
‘Sir,’ Kenzaki nodded, leaving Eisuke alone to head to Luke’s office.
In his anger, however, Eisuke had been unprepared for seeing you in such a state of pain.
In that moment, everything else vanished. Eisuke was not the billionaire owner of Tres Spades. The ruthless businessman, feared, intimidated and admired by those around him.
Going to your side, Eisuke ignored Luke entirely as he took your hands in his.
'E-Eisuke…but you had a meeting…’
'Shh…forget work and focus on me, okay?’
You knew it wasn’t a request, but Eisuke’s tone was incredibly gentle, as though you might shatter if he spoke too loudly.
Biting your lip as you whimpered in pain, Eisuke gently brushed away the tears that slipped down your cheeks.
'It hurts…’ you stammered.
'It’s broken,’ Luke stated as he set your foot down carefully.
'Broken?’ Eisuke repeated in surprise. He knew it had been bad to warrant such a panic from Kenzaki, but he hadn’t expected that.
Refocusing his attention on you; Eisuke gently eased you closer so that your head could rest on his shoulder.
'What am I going to do with you?’ He sighed, though his voice betrayed the worry behind his words as he brushed his lips against your forehead.
'Do what you can Luke…’
'Of course,’ he nodded, before offering you a glance and a semblance of a smile. Realising Luke’s attempt to put you at ease, you tried your best to relax as he tended to you while Eisuke held your hand.
Once Luke was satisfied that he had done all he could for you, you were taken up to the penthouse to rest.
Having some tea prepared ahead of your arrival, Eisuke settled you down on the sofa before going to pour you a drink.
After ensuring you were comfortable, Eisuke removed his jacket and tie, unbuttoning the top of his shirt a little before heading into the bedroom.
Returning a few moments later, Eisuke held two pillows in his hand and a large fluffy throw from the end of the bed you shared.
After carefully draping it over you and helping you to settle into the pillows, Eisuke sat down by your side, lightly stroking your hair as you drank your tea, though your hands were a little unsteady.
Placing his over yours, he could feel the slight chill from your skin as he lightly pressed a kiss to your temple.
Taking your cup and placing it on the coffee table, Eisuke wrapped you up in his arms, allowing you to hear how hard his heart was beating in his chest.
Your moment of peace was soon interrupted when Eisuke’s phone chimed.
'I’m busy,’ he snapped over the phone, apparently intending to hang up when something stopped him.
'Have them wait outside my office. I’ll be there when I am quite satisfied that I am not needed here and after I have reviewed the footage for myself. Until you see me in person, do not call me again, or I will have your job. Do I make myself clear?’
Tossing his phone over to the chair opposite you after he had ended the call, Eisuke heaved a sigh as he placed his arms around you once more.
'You don’t have to stay…’
'You are my priority. Everything else is worthless without you at my side. It can wait…’
Sensing that Eisuke blamed himself somehow for your accident, you decided not to pursue the topic further.
But right now, you needed him. You couldn’t deny that. Eisuke made you feel safe and having him close kept you calm as the pain in your foot dulled.
'You should eat…do you feel like you could?’
Nodding in agreement, a small smile graced Eisuke’s lips as he kissed you softly. It wasn’t much, but if he could do something for you, then perhaps he wouldn’t feel so useless.
Eisuke was not the self-loathing type. He had no patience for that sort of thing. But right now, he couldn’t help but consider all the things you did for him. Of course, he had done things to make you smile.
He’d move mountains for that smile. But in reality, he had rarely done something personally. You made him coffee, took him some dinner if he was working late. You made the effort with all of the little details.
Eisuke could arrange almost anything with a few phone-calls. But you truly put your heart into everything you did for him.
That had never weighed as heavily on his mind as he did now.
Over the next few weeks, Eisuke took a back seat from handling things at the hotel in order to be with you while you recovered from your injury.
After discovering that your accident had been caused by three maids who had often caused you trouble, Eisuke had dismissed them without a second thought.
Though Eisuke hadn’t let your broken foot stop him from spoiling you. He still took you out, ensuring that you had a car to meet you at each end of the journey’s you both took to various restaurants and shows.
He even took you on a late night picnic, bringing you to one of the best spots on the city limits for stargazing as the two of you cuddled up on a blanket with an additional comforter wrapped around you for warmth.
'I love you,’ Eisuke breathed, capturing your chin in his fingertips as he brought your gaze to meet his.
'I love you too,’ you responded, a light blush touching your cheeks as Eisuke offered you a kind smile. Breaking your foot had been a horrible experience and you knew Eisuke had blamed himself for not being able to prevent it. But that didn’t matter. The warmth Eisuke brought to your heart was all you had and would ever need as you surrendered to his passionate kisses.
So there you have it! I’ve been working on this one for ages it seems! Thankfully I have another one thats already in progress, so I’m looking forward to continuing with it!
Thank you to my lovely followers for your very kind messages and support during my lack of posting much. It’s made me smile to no end and I’ve been honestly amazed at all the likes and reblogs my work has still been getting!
So from the bottom of my heart, thank you <3

If you loved it, please hit that little heart and reblog button! It would make my day! <3
