I love how much medecine has changed from the barbaric days where women were told they were just hysterical and needed fresh air and a trip to the sea side as if it’s that simple. Haha. So different. Yup. Suuuper different….

Actually, I’d argue it’s worse because at least back in the day, female hysteria was also treated by cocaine and vibrators.

Yuna fending off an unwanted suitor.

She became a target a lot since she was alone, which is very unusual for a female sea-drake.

I couldn’t decide on a color for the background clouds so you get both.

Vaguely penis fishing mug I had to leave behind at Walgreens due to my busted and too-many-mugs-having nature. A reel shame.

Someone was just telling me how the real reason people hate pineapple pizza is probably that most restaurants just sprinkle the pizza with blocky wet pineapple chunks when the original style recipe called for paper thin slices that quickly caramelize in the oven, giving the pizza a gooey sweetness that blends smoothly into the tangier acidity of the tomatoes. They are after all both fruit.

And I actually did like pineapple on pizza, but I only ever had it served to me as the chunks, and NOW that looks gross in comparison to that description.

The most delicious non-vegetable ever slandered by children's cartoons

Deeply disappointed that the lead result is just assuming it'll be gross without actually finding out first 😔 you have been tainted by decades of "hold the anchovies!" as a boomer meme.

Notice that of those who have tried it, over twice as many found it tolerable to great!

When baked into a pizza they partially dissolve, infusing the sauce and dough with rich umami. The half melted remnants of the tiny filet are a burst of salt that can be intense, but quickly balanced out by the cheese and crust, and then whatever you chose as a beverage becomes twice as sweet and refreshing anyway.

What they absolutely do NOT do is make a pizza taste like seafood. Unless you're extra sensitive to it, the "fishiness" of brined then cooked anchovy should be too subtle to notice most of the time, if they're made correctly. I like one little anchovy per slice, which is how most places do it anyway.

Olives, on the other hand, I just cannot get used to. Can't believe these poor little beautiful anchovies have to share a perfectly good pizza with those weird rubbery blobs of bitter funk! 😞 Guess some people are just weird!

I LOVE anchovies on pizza! I will hunt down restaurants that have them, or buy my own to put them on frozen pizzas.

They're salty so you have to be careful about the amount and other salty things on the pizza, but if done right they aren't fishy in the least. They'll taste rich and nutty and practically melt 💘 anchovy pizza my love

Yes exactly just a "rich" flavor! They should not taste fishy!

But also

Seriously why do multiple people mention crunchy bones

ANXHOVIES DO NOT "CRUNCH" 😧😧😧

Anchovies are basically like. If a fish was a cheese. They just sorta melt onto the pizza and make it taste salty and savoury.

character in a movie: Oh no, angry dog, please don’t bite me!

the dog: I’m at work! I’m doing so good at being at work! I’m barking because my handler gave the sign ‘bark’! I am going to get such a good grade in being a dog actor, which is completely possible to achieve, and normal to want! I am doing a great job! I am proud of myself for doing such a great job! I love this, because I’d make it physically impossible to get anything done if I wasn’t enjoying it! I’m barking!

I love seeing dogs and wolves in movies because they’re acting so vicious but also their tails are wagging so hard unless the post-processing guys specifically edited out the tails (which is slightly less obvious but also hilarious in a different way once you spot it).

This is why I love the dog in the original casting of The Thing so damn much. I have never seen an acting dog move with such a deliberate, calm intent. It was like every single motion and gesture this animal made was intentional.

Apparently, according to the behind-the-scenes documentation, this dog was just fuckin like that. Almost never, if at all, looked at the camera crews and production teams. Never excitedly wagged his tail on set no matter how much of a good boy he was being. If he did, it was the same… deliberate motions.

His name was Jed, and even though he’s a dog, he deserves an oscar. He was an exceptionally good boy.

Jed also played the role of White Fang in the 90s Disney film version!

I honestly can’t imagine a better portrayal of a stoic, aloof White Fang, who gradually softens, than Jed.  Good boy.

That dog knows his job, and knows he’s damn good at it, and knows he’s probably better at his job than his coworkers.

That dog was delivering straight up Shakespearean performances, and he probably was saddled with human coworker who had to make use of such unprofessional things as second takes.

My condolences, Jed, my condolences.

We need like “unclench your jaw” posts but for eye strain. Like

Go look at something 20ft away for 20 seconds.

Recommended by my optometrist

Look at something 20 feet away, then 10, then 5, then one, then if you can your nose.

Repeat twice, then again without glasses.

Face forward look out of the corner of your eye. As far as you can look. Slowly move to the other corner. Repeat twice.

Look down as far as you can. Slowly look up. Repeat twice.

Roll eyes twice.

Close eyes for five minutes.

I do this every day usually at my halfway point. My migraines went away. My vision go better. Honestly stretching my eyes as she put it feels great too.

Please stop using disabilities you don't have as comparisons.

I saw a video trying to explain that autistic people don't make eye contact because it can be painful for them (good, this is true) and telling them to "just do it anyway" is ridiculous, saying "you wouldn't tell a wheelchair user to "just walk, its better for you" so don't tell autistic people to just make eye contact".

But people do. They do all the time. It's well documented that doctors will withhold their ok for patients to get a wheelchair (which is needed unless you're paying out of pocket, because insurance and most public disability services like the NDIS need proof from a doctor). I've known people who can hardly walk and are having to fight because the doctor still insists it better for them to walk, even if it's painful and sevearly limiting their quality of life.

Then in the comments, someone pointed out that people do say that to wheelchair users (good, this is true) but then continued on by saying "unless you just don't have legs" which is just as bad as the origonal.

I had to fight to get my first wheelchair as a double leg amputee, and every wheelchair since then I've had to justify not wanting the "better option" (prosthetics) to the government so they'll approve me for the funding. Doctors and even strangers too, all want to know why I'm not walking, why I'm not using prosthetics all the time. When I go on trips with my family I'm told to "just walk" so they don't have to pack my wheelchair. at my own graduation from university I was chastised by the organisers for not bringing my prosthetics (because wearing them was exceptionally painful back then and i hadnt worn them in nearly 3 months. I had asked before if this would be ok. they knew) because the venue was accessible but not the part of the venue the graduates were in. On the topic of university they also put my class in the only non-wheelchair accessible room and held meetings i was expected to take part in, in the non-accessible lunch room. When I complained, I was told to just use my legs for a few minutes so I could get into my classes. Being an amputee with no legs didn't shield me from these experiences either, it often made it worse.

I have all 3 of the disabilities mentioned (autistic, wheelchair user, amputee). If you don't have the disability you're using for a comparison, don't use it. Please
