25. — JAEMIN

Being enveloped in Jaemin’s embrace made it difficult for you to focus on the movie in front of you. The warmth of his body slowly lulled you to sleep, as you were already quite exhausted from work this morning. The lack of your enthusiasm in the movie made him turned his head to you, looking you with those loving eyes before softly nudged you awake.

“Wake up, sleeping beauty. You’re gonna miss the climax.”

“‘m don’t care. Can we just stay like this?” You whined a little, buried your head into his neck as you snuggled and hugged him tighter. “You’re more fun than the movie.”

“Are you flirting with me?” Jaemin gasped, looking at you in disbelief. It was rare to see you flirting with him since you’re not fond of it.

“You finally noticed?” You grinned happily.

“Do you want to continue the movie? You look tired.” You shook your head, “I promised to watch it with you and that means until it finished.”

Jaemin looked at you worriedly, not failed to notice the dark circle under your eyes and stiff shoulder. Though you were tired, you still want to accompany him until this late. It made him felt guilty.

“Let’s continue it tomorrow. You’re tired.”

“Are you sure? I mean, you really want to watch this movie since last week.”

“You’re more important than that movie. Sleepover? Please?”

“Fine.” Jaemin smiled as he turned off the TV and enveloped you with a cuddle, not forgetting to kiss your head. “Let’s get some sleep.”

24. — MARK

There was a legend that said if you watch the sky while the sun is setting from the hill for 51 days, your love will be reciprocated. Though you don’t really believe in that legend, you still want to try it.

You insist wanted to go to the hill by yourself, but Mark still decided to accompany you. His skepticism at your excitement was obvious as he looked up at the summer sky.

“How desperate are you?”

The question that came out from his mouth annoyed you. He even looked at you like you’re an idiot. When you’re desperate, this kind of thing becomes necessary though he will never understand that.

Being a childhood friend of mark was not easy. When you became teenagers, the two of you started to grow apart. So many things began to change. He grew taller and his line of sight became so much higher. He was no longer the cute Mark you knew.

You realized, you fell in love and fell for Mark more and more to the point you’ve become sensitive and more curious. So, by gathering these small pieces of courage over 51 days, you hope your feeling will reach the sky and him.

“It’s just a good luck chant, okay?”

“You never listen to what I say. You’re such a kid.”

“I don’t want to listen to you since I’ve decided!”

“How long are you gonna watch the sunset?” Mark looked pretty sour as he waited for you to finished watch the sunset. It’s almost like he’s sulking.

“Seriously, if you hate it that much, you don’t have to come with me every day.”

“It’s dangerous to walk alone when the sky is getting dark.” He looked at the orange sky before turned to you. “Who’d you fall for this time? I’ll help out. Is it Hendry? Or maybe that transfer student, Xiaojun?”

As he grumbled so, You grabbed his hand. “What’s wrong?”

“…The one that I fell for is you, idiot.”

Mark pouted as his face turned red—things that never change when he hides his embarrassment. But this is the part of him that you love.

“I... also like you, for a quite long time now.” He pinched your cheek as you tried to hold your tears in happiness. 

23. — HAECHAN ft. RENJUN

“Y’know, it’s not gonna hurt you to take a little break.” You looked up for a while, smiling a little before focus back to the camera in your hand. Renjun walked toward the bleachers and sit beside you as he saw the photo preview.

“Watching you guys playing at the field is enough for me. Besides, I still need to take some other photo for the club’s assignment.”

“Maybe I could help, let me see.”

Little did you know, someone couldn’t stop glaring at Renjun from the field. The older boy moved closer to you too much to his liking. He should be the one in that position if it’s not because the others need him to finish the game.

“Ya, Haechan! Focus! Don’t let Chenle get the ball.”

Hearing his name got called by the other boys, your head swung up so fast that you met his eyes. 

You smiled a little and waved at him which he waved back.

A small interaction between you and him made Haechan happy. He couldn’t help but smirked as he remembered the sour face Renjun showed as he focused back to the game.

22. — HAECHAN

“Well, you know what? I’m not going to date an annoying girl like you if that what you hope from ruining everything!” You can’t help but flinches at Haechan as snapped at you.

He didn’t care anymore the whatever reason you had, he had enough of your antic. You always ruined the moments he had with other girls, following him 24/7 like you’re his girlfriend or something—which is not, and the stunt you pulled this morning was enough to snap all patient he had for you.

“Did you mean it when you said to leave you alone?”

Haechan halted, feeling a chill run down his spine. He just stayed at his place without saying anything. The lack of cheery in your tone made his chest tighten.

“Did you really mean it when you said you were never going to date me, ‘the annoying girl’? Though I never thought of it.” You muttered the last words. Your lips were pulled downward in a frown, not the usual warm smile you usually had on your face.

“I… I…” Haechan wanted to convey to you that no, he didn’t mean anything he said like that. He mentally punched his own head for not minding his own word before blindly shouted to you. It always at the time like this, always at times when things got serious and he had to ruin it by stuttering.

He was really angry right now. Not to you, but himself.

“I must be really annoying, huh. Never know when to stop or able to read the situation.” You had never sounded so broken than you did now.

How shocked he was when he turned to saw you, eyes red and teary as you trying to not looked him in the eyes. All the other times, you laughed loudly in his face, joking that you’re not sorry for what you did to him or even tease him. However never, never had he seen you this sad.

He replied you with an apology in his head, but upfront, his lips were zipped. He couldn’t say anything except a mutter of your name.

You let out a hollow chuckle, “I hope your happy with what you’re hoping for.”

Ever since that noon, Haechan rarely saw you. You only smiled at him and walked past him.

There was no warm smile, no teasing, no your cheery voice, no more usual you. It was like you two were never friends, like you had given up on whatever it was between you two. You really didn’t want to act pathetic like this, but enough is enough.

Nothing could fix the your relationship anymore.

25. — HAN JISUNG

“Han Jisung, you better wake up now or else.” You cried in distress as your boyfriend decided to not budge at your threat.

Jisung shifted a little before went back to his precious sleep. You had tried many attempts to wake him, from took away his pillow and blanket until pinched his cheeks, but none of it worked.

Now you understood why the boys look defeated in waking your boyfriend.

Curious, in his dry morning voice, Jisung asked, “Did Chan hyung let you in? Again?” He took your silence as a yes.

“Give me five more minutes…”

You let out a defeated sigh as you looked around his room. It was messier than usual, grumbled papers could be seen scattered everywhere. Either it a mess up lyrics he wrote or random notes, you didn’t know.

Being the nice girlfriend you were, you picked the grumbled papers one by one. However, instead of mess up lyrics or random notes you thought, you found your name on them.

Did Jisung try to write you a letter?

21. — MARK

You were never a believer of horoscopes nor prophetic dreams, so when you dreamed about meeting a boy with dark brown hair and fair skin, and falling in love with him, you just shrugged it off. However the world seemed to be dead set on making the prediction come true and here you are, in the same quite library you dreamed before, trying to reach the book on the top shelf.

A grumble came out from your mouth followed by a few curses to the person that put the book on the top shelf. You actually can ask the librarian’s help to get the book, but being the laziest person you are, you too tired to walk to the front desk remembering the bookshelf location is in the deepest part of the library which is too far from the front desk. You really hate how your height disadvantage at the time like this.

Too occupied with the thought of getting help, you don’t realize someone stands behind you, reaching his hand to get the book you want to get until he accidentally presses his body to your back. You yelp at the sudden contact and look up at the person behind you with widen eyes. You may not remember your dream clearly but you’ve felt like this before, everything that just happens feels too familiar.

Mark hands you the book while giving you a big smile. It’s only a smile, and yet it makes you blow butterflies into your stomach — something that you’ve experienced before in the dream, you miss the warm feeling he gives you. Though you don’t know what the warm feeling inside your heart means, the tips of my ears can’t help but feel tingling.

“Thanks…”

“Mark. My name is Mark Lee from the Music Department.” You take the book from him and smile back at him. “I know it’s kinda weird, but have we met before?”

“No, from what I remember.” You know what will happen next, you know you two never meet officially and yet you choose to go through it, again. “[Name] from the Broadcasting Department.”

25. — ERIC

Having a guy as your best friends had its perks. He stays out of the drama. He never judge you. He is down for whatever. And always straightforward. 

But it also had downsides which quite happen to you a lot.

Eric tended to forget you were a girl sometimes. You still had to remind him not to take his clothes off when you’re around or exclude you from all his activities that could crush you to death. It was also a challenge to talk about your crush in front of him. He would either tease you non stop or use it as blackmail in the future.

He also likes to spend his time with you the most, to the point everyone kept assumed you guys were together. They even insisted that you should start dating him. You were not and never will be. There was a time when you actually considered it at one point, but when you realized how much you’ve seen each other grow up, you immediately dismissed the idea. He was too loud to your liking. Most of the time he couldn’t read the mood and only worsen the situation. 

Befriend with him also means you had to become his little ninja. He will ask you to help bridge him to get to know his crush better, but of course with [favourite snack] in exchange. And to make it worse, you couldn’t ask him for fashion advice. It wasn’t like he had a bad fashion or something. Instead of helping you, he was likely to make fun of you. It made the supposed quick get ready turned into a one-hour fashion show.

However, despite the downsides be friends with him, you still love him dearly. After all, he was your best friend and no one could replace him in your heart. You would not trade him for anything else in the world.
