Alright I know this was just Ford’s cute, subtle way of asking Stan if he still wanted to do the sailing trip together, but I can’t help but laugh.
“I think I might be too old to go it alone…
So I’m going to ask this picture of health to go with me
whom I literally criticized in my journal for his failure to stay fit
But ya know, I’m too old, so it’s very important that I take someone who’s a whole 15 minutes younger than me!”
This is no hate to Ford, it’s just to be funny. If anything, the fact that this man who strives for logic and practicality invited Stan of all people on a dangerous sailing trip really emphasizes how much he wanted Stan to go with him.

What if, indeed? I thought to myself.
Bonus:
Eventually I think Ford’s hair would get so long that the floof would lose its structural integrity, and he’d basically start to look like a sheepdog.
