hi. i have never done this before, and i wouldn’t do it now were we not absolutely desperate. my 8 year old dog, luna, has stage four cancer. you can read about it here, but the summarized version is it started in her mouth and has spread to her chest and lungs. she is of course insured, but thanks to the many procedures she has had to endure already, we have maxed out on the insurance.

unfortunately, the type of cancer she has can’t be treated by chemo or surgery, so we have been referred to a center where she’ll be given a vaccine (i don’t understand the term “vaccine” since i totally thought that meant something else, but that’s what the vet is calling it) to decrease the size of the tumors and hopefully prolong her life for at least a few more years.

now that we don’t have any more insurance to rely on, the cost of the rest of her treatment (vaccine included) is coming from our pockets, and we’re really struggling. for example, we have a phone call appointment coming up with the vet who is giving her the vaccine and that alone is costing us £250 just for the phone call. we don’t know the actual cost of the vaccine, but we were told it will be “four figures”.

i hate the idea of asking for money, but if you could possibly donate, or spread this post around if you’re not able to donate (i know money is very tight right now, i am totally in that same boat), that would be so incredibly helpful.
