All commissions are for your personal use only; do not resell, use for commercial or scholastic purposes without checking with me first, or train AI on them. (But gifting someone a commission for, say, a birthday gift is fine!) Do not claim art as your own. I reserve the right to refuse commissions for any reason.

Art commissions:

Contact me with a description or picture of your character (drawn by yourself, or another commission or a picrew/dollmaker screenshot if you can't draw and have one on hand)

Lined: $15

Line + color: $25

Fully rendered: $50

Add another character for an extra $15 or two for an extra $25

Backgrounds:

Gradient/no background: free!

Simple pattern background: $1

Complex background: $5-$10 depending on complexity

So this was a fun thing to learn about last night.

TL:DR the official Nanowrimo organization has gotten in hot water for failing to properly address issues such as scam sponsorships/publishing deals and emotional abuse of minors. I would read with caution, as it's some heavy stuff. TWs included in the post.

I've done Nanowrimo before and enjoyed the challenge, and encouraged others to give it a shot. It's disheartening to hear this and I can't condone it. While I may pick up similar challenges informally, I won't be doing Nanowrimo officially unless and until they can address these issues in a suitable way.

If you were in @inexplicifics Accidental Warlord AU for a day (or several), what would you do?

Because I'm curious and want to know.

I would probably:

Hug as many witchers as possible, especially the ones old enough to be remember the Path before Ard Carraigh
Double especially Eskel, the man works way too damn hard
Have long talks with Vesemir about philosophy of government and society, because I think his take on it would be FASCINATING
Ask Jaskier to teach me "Ode to Witchers" and "Ciri's Goose Trick" plus maybe some other songs
Boop Geralt on the nose. Possibly while hugging him
Bake HUNDREDS of cookies with Julita (and Melina and Zofia if they wanted), then use those cookies to bribe as many witchers as possible into a giant cuddle pile. Possibly in the library for story time and/or with Jaskier for music!
Go pester the Cranes and make stuff with them - maybe kitchen gadgets? (A dough scoop for the literal HUNDREDS OF COOKIES I'll be making with Julita, for example...)
Teach Lambert to swear in classical Latin, assuming he doesn't already know how (also teach him why those words/phrases are so insulting)
Ask Milena to teach me fancy hairstyles. Offer to paint her nails in return!

I picked up embroidery because of Milena, so I would ask her for pointers! I'd also memorize/copy any books of flower language and other interesting trivia that I could get my hands on

@regaldragonempress I know a *little* bit of embroidery (mostly cross stitch, admittedly) but I do know how to learn/teach myself new skills! (I taught myself to knit, it's awesome!) Some tips:

Find a store where they sell New Hobby supplies and ask an employee "hi, I'm interested in learning New Hobby, do you have any advice?" Hopefully they'll know how to Do The Thing or can point you to someone who does. The store might even offer classes! Worst case, they can show you where the supplies are and help you pick some out (and maybe recommend some other local stores).
Break New Hobby down into smaller skills - for embroidery, individual stitches (cross stitch, running stitch, back stitch, etc) then learn and practice those separately before combining them.
Resources like instruction books, video tutorials, and more experienced crafters ARE YOUR FRIENDS. Find them. Cherish them. USE THEM.
Do not start with materials that are expensive or fiddly. You are LEARNING. You are going to make mistakes. (I used to teach knitting at a store where they gave students yarn that was poorly wound and would split on the poor students and I HATED that yarn SO DAMN MUCH.)
Small projects that you can finish quickly (think samplers) will probably be more encouraging at first. You can spend a few hours practicing and go "look, I made A Thing!" rather than commit to WEEKS of "oh gods, I have two dozen more quilt squares to embroider, and THEN I have to sew them together AND quilt them AND bind the edges, uuuuugh..."

I have learned these lessons because I made these mistakes. Learn from me.

Also, don't feel bad about UFOs (UnFinished Objects). All crafters have them. I inherited a cross stitch quilt from my great grandma that's a UFO. (Among, like, twenty other projects she had. And an entire bag of knitting projects of my own. And a few cross stitch projects, including an owl who just needs framed.)
