I´ll be making a trigger list for the series and movies I am watching to share online! This way, at least some people might be safer when watching series because they can look the series up beforehand and decide if they feel comfortable with watching it! Any less usual triggers anyone wants me to look out for?

i never talk about these things but i can’t remain silent.

i know tumblr doesn’t give a SHIT when things happen in countries outside the “most popular ones” (such as the usa & england). it’s true, don’t lie to me. y’all don’t give A FUCK. not every issue and problem in said countries gets the appropriate exposure but in general shit shows up on the news WORLD FREAKING  WIDE. you set up donations, you help out, your spread the word, you say “pray for x”……

southern europe is burning.

my country is burning.

people are dying - at home, on the road, trying to run away, in their cars.

yesterday my country had 300 active fires.

people are losing EVERYTHING they own.

i have a friend that is on a train right now passing through places that have been burnt to the ground and she says the smoke is so intense it’s getting inside the train and she can barely breathe.

and yet, even though several people (myself included) have been trying to bring awareness to what has been happening in southern europe… what we get from most of you, those not part of the countries suffering, is silence. we don’t ask for money, we don’t ask for shit other than a reblog to spread awareness… something you can delete in 24/48hrs if you wish.

i don’t know what to tell you. i’m angry. i’m frustrated. i’m disappointed. i feel like i’m screaming into the void. “a reblog does nothing” - you know that’s a damn lie, you know exposure always helps, you know people start paying attention when posts on social media become popular. my country in particular is a small one, we get ZERO exposure. y’all are only starting to figure out we even fucking exist bc of the shit we’ve been winning lately.

but hell, if the EU doesn’t give a shit, why should some user on tumblr dot com?

again, i don’t know what to tell you so i’ll let the images speak for themselves:

An image captured by a Nasa satellite shows a thick plume of smoke blowing southward from the Greek island of Chios over the island of Crete

Torneros de Jamuz, Spain

Duca, Croatia

A helicopter from Italy’s civil protection service drops water on a fire near the railway between Venice and Trieste

Residents take refuge on the beach as a wildfire burns on the mountain next to the village of Lithi, on the Greek island of Chios

Men gather cattle during a forest fire in Vieira de Leiria, Marinha Grande, Portugal.

Charred trees are seen on the hills above the Cloister of Thivaidas on Mount Athos, a World Heritage Site in Greece

Portugal

This is fucking important. I am glad someone fucking spoke about this and said what they had to say. The damage is terrible, and all the evergreen, stone, even the ground is black. I was fucking terrified when Croatia was burning. The fire was near a village where I like and I thought it will burn down. I thought the church will burn down. I thought the cemetery where my grandpa is buried will burn. I still remember the smell of smoke, and when I went to check how bad is fire, my clothes and hair and skin all stunk of smoke. It didn’t go away for weeks.

This is NASA’s picture of Croatia and Montenegro burning. My fucking country was burning. Fucking reblog this. I don’t care that it isn’t UK or US, or that it doesn’t go with your blog, fucking. Reblog. It.

Not my blog type, I dont care.

Reblog for awareness. Do it.

Boost this or so help me

I don’t care if this “Doesn’t fit your blog theme” or “You don’t think people will notice if you reblog it”

I

Don’t

Care

If you don’t reblog this, that’s a conscious decision to ignore that people are suffering.

And one last thing

TAG EVERY SINGLE BLOG YOU KNOW

I don’t care if you don’t think you’re big enough for them to notice you or you’re worried about bothering them, you do it regardless! I nearly had a panic attack tagging some of the bigger blogs I know of because I’m practically invisible in term of popularity but I still tagged them because it’s worth me being anxious if it means someone gets help.

So unless you don’t care about people dying and suffering, then reblog this and be a decent human being.

Welcome to my first challenge!

This is more of a langblr challenge than a studyblr challenge but whoever wants to participate can!

So, I don't know how many countries have the tradition of Advent calendars but essentially a Advent calendar consists of one treat per day, starting on the 1st December and ending on the 24th. The treat can be a cute picture, sweets, makeup, whatever. My challenge shall be a kind of Advent calendar.

And this is the challenge:

Every day from the 1st of December until the 24th of December, you post a poem from any artist you like - as long as you are permitted to post it and give credit - in your mother tongue. It can also be a poem from yourself! And if you feel very diligent and able to do so, you can translate it into another language you know as well.

For me this means I will post a total of 24 German poems and maybe will translate some of them into English.

What is the goal of this challenge?

So, first of all, everyone can get to know poetry in other languages. Many of us are learnes of foreign languages and I personally love reading poems in my target language and even if I do not understand all of it yet, I love the sound and melody of them.

Also, not everyone has an Advent calendar or can afford one. This a way to have a free one, multiples even. Everyone who does this challenge provides a free lyrical Advent calendar for our community!

When?

1st December until 24th December

Tag me if you plan to take part or take part and please also reblog (even if you do not plan on parttaking) so others can see and join! ✨

Okay I am really shy but I decided to tag my favorite studyblrs and langbrls! ✨

Also a big sorry to everyone I did not tag, probably I love your blog but forgot its name because I'm a chaotic mess today haha

I'm really struggling with school right now. I went back three (four) weeks in person, and I still suck at all my classes. Idk, I'm just really unmotivated right now. Any tips to stop procrastination + get motivated?

Hello!

First of all, I honestly feel kind of honoured that you reach out for advice to me so thank you for that! I am always glad when I can try to help people.

Okay so I have multiple tips for you:

- remember your goals. Make a vision board with how your future shall look lilke and remember that school will be part of what influences your future. Even if it´s not your last year of high school, must subject have curricula that build on each other so the next years will be way easier if you do well this year. So, try to keep in mind what you are doing all this for, your goals, dreams and plans for the future.

- make to-do lists that motivate you, whether they are handwritten or in an App, whether they are cute or practical. For practical lists I can recommend Microsoft To-Do and for you cute ones CUMO. Make sure to split big tasks in smaller ones. Always start with really small homeworks or tasks when at home, so that you soon have acomplished something. If your brain notices success, your motivation will rise and you will feel more motivated to do bigger tasks after some time.

- try to pick a topic that you lke most. Try to look forward to it, to start engaging during the lessons. Raise your hand if you know something, ask questions, try to follow the lessons. You will find that once you started to engage during lessons, they will seem more interesting again. Starting with the subject you like most can be a good start.

 - reward yourself with small things or activities once you finished homework or studying for the day so you have something to look forward to. It´s better to have extrinsic motivation than none at all, altough intrinsic motivation is your goal.

- try to decorate your desk as lovely as possible. The more you like your workingspace, the more you will like working at it. These things don´t have to be expensive stuff. Many shops have cheap cute little things that can brighten your studying experience and probably you already have things at home that will motivate you.

- if you can afford it, buy any kind of stationary that you can use a lot and really like. Use it for doing your homework, for studying and for your lessons at school. If you really enjoy using it but can only use it when you do something for school, than you will have a reason to get more stuff done.

- team up with a friend, motivate each other, do homework together over skype or zoom, help each other with studying, set goals together or make a game out of it who gets their tasks done faster (while still doing them thoroughly).

- see each completed day of school as a big competeted task that brings your closer to your goal and to your semester certificate. Motivation has a lot to do with mindset so it´s important that you see the school day as an accomplishment.

- consciously take and enjoy break. Don´t do other tasks like watching Youtube or Netflix, playing on your phone or listeingn to podcasts while you do your homework and study (music that does not distract you is fine). Save these things for breaks and thoroughly enjoy them. When studying/doing your homework, focus completely on the task so you get it done faster.

- not everything you hand in has to be perfect. Not every grade has to be an A. Sometimes it´s enough to pass. Don´t preassure yourself to much.

- try the Pomodora technique (look it up if you don´t know it, there are also Apps and Add-ons for your Browser), maybe it helps you.

- try the forest app - if you stay focused, you plant virtual trees, which are really cute.

- when learning something new at school, especially when starting a new topic it is important that you try to focus on the new knowledge and ask questions if you don´t understand something. The moment you are not understanding anymore what your teachers are talking about, your motivation will decrease and it will be way harder to focus.

I hope some of this helps you and that you will get motivated soon! Wishing you the best!

Day 7/100 days of productivity - 4.10.2020

~ University and green tea ~

The first week of productivity is done, wohoo! No but seriously, so far I really enjoyed the challenge as I am getting a lot more done! Today actually was the last day before the start of the new university semester. I'm curious how the blended learning will work out!

  • Tidying my room part 9 (which took literally like 6 hours)
  • Finished reading Michel Foucaults Repression Hypothesis + took notes
  • Filled in my election card
  • Gathered all the books I have to bring back to the university libraries tomorrow

theres a sicilian woman in montreal who is very passionate about passing on sicilian to the younger generations, so she often makes short videos on a “sicilian word of the day”  type of theme along with the italian version, and i think that is very lovely and sicilian about her and her content is a mood:

Hi! Here's your random Italian word: fuoco fatuo (n.) -- will-o'-the-wisp

Wow thank you! It's really fun what you are doing! ✨

Just uploaded the term paper that was a group project I basically had to do alone...my desk is drowning in books and sheets of paper but I am just relieved to have accomplished another thing. Got a grade two days ago for one of the three finals I took last week and just finished the last homework for didactics of this semester. The plans for the next semesters are nearly finished (although I know that it won´t work out exactly as I want it too but let´s hope for the best!). So much stuff is still to do...I have to finish another term paper tomorrow, talk to a professor about a different final date/oral exam and have to study for my presentation on Friday. Then final week will come..7 finals in one week. If I get them all done I´ll just want to sleep for days I guess xD
