“Tortured roses, prickled hands” ~ multimedia, 2024

in a very loose way, I would say this was inspired by the section of a book i recently read, wherein I first learnt of the Colombian rose industry. It feels weird to realise flowers are also products for some people, enough to profit from and to mistreat workers tending to them.

In part based on my fascination with a refinery I sometimes pass-by in my local area, and the various chimneys, pipes and warehouses. In part based on my travels to the equally industrial city of Gdańsk, where every rig feels alive to me.
