the oldest of the hawkins clan josh has always been the quiet one though that never made him weak. he’s protective of his siblings and those around him. being part of fight club also made him brave. it was hard not to be when he had such strong willed people as his friends. while he doesn’t apologize for his existence anymore josh is still very much the the soft one of the group. opting to suffer in silence or in his words than letting someone see him crumble. josh became a successful author and is working on the fourth book in his lost galaxy series. although he’s the child of a famous parent and has found fame himself, josh prefers a life away from the spotlight. he’s been dating dante mcqueen for a while. he’s still not keen on marriage but he’ll happily spend the rest of his life with dante. ring or no ring.

asteria might have been five minutes older than andi but that never mattered much. she’s her father’s daughter to a t. loves to question authorities, loves to get into fights and loves to be right. she’s the girl that will stand up for what’s right even if it means standing alone. she didn’t get her siblings charisma or approachability. andi is prickly at best. a no bullshit kind of gal. if you think jim is intimidating wait until you meet her ! she’s brutally honest and will make you cry if she doesn’t like you or if you mess with her family. the only people who ever sees her softer side is nina mcqueen or her father. she’s got a soft spot for her family and friends but if you tell anyone she’ll punch you. 

while andi took after their dad, asteria was soft like their mom. she’s always put others before her & doesn’t really stand up for herself. bubbly as can be and kind of boy crazy asteria is a little naive, sure, but one of the kindest girls you will ever meet. fashion is her passion. as a teen she fell head over heels for a boy who didn’t exactly have the best reputation but asteria saw the good in him anyways. her father disapproved but she didn’t listen. so when she fell pregnant asteria imagined she’d have the perfect family she always dreamed of. it was perfect until their daughter, emily, was born and her boyfriend left her without a word. he said she deserved better than him but asteria wishes he would have figured that out sooner before leaving her with a child to raise alone. despite how soft she was asteria knew she’d be fine. she was a hawkins aftereall.

🌱 ⠀  ⠀ ⠀  ⠀ ───────────  with   the   minnie’s   flower   festival   in   full   gear   once   more,   wally   was   busy   putting   together   endless   orders   for   the   people   of   elias.   it   was   days   like   this   they   were   grateful   their   powers   made   life   a   little   easier   sometimes.   they   had   just   finished   what   felt   like   their   100th   bouquet   when   they   heard   the   front   door   bell   ring.      “   hello   ?   ”      they   called   out   as   they   walked   to   the   front   of   the   shop.      “   are   you   here   to   place   an   order   ?   ”      wally   asked   smiling   brightly.   

        SHE ALMOST FELT GUILTY  for  not  being  able  to  just  agree  with  the  stranger ;  they  seemed  nice ,  a  positive  thinker  and  while  angela  always  tried  to  look  on  the  bright  side ,  it  wasn't  easy .  sometimes  it  was  hard  to  believe  that  ’ healing ‘  was  a  real  thing .  ❛ and  what  about  the  cracks ? ❜  the  girl  inquired ,  raising  her  eyebrows  at  them .  ❛ do  we  just  ignore  those  and  pretend  they  aren't  there ? ❜

🌱 ⠀  ⠀ ⠀  ⠀ ───────────   wally   gave   the   blonde   a   gentle   smile.   they   could   sense   her   apprehension.      “   have   you   ever   heard   of   the   art   of   kintsugi   ?   ”      they   asked.      “   it’s   those   little   pottery   pieces   with   the   gold   cracks.   it’s   centred   on   the   acceptance   of   transience,   imperfection   and   the   beauty   found   in   simplicity.   so   no,   we   don’t   forget   ignore   them   or   pretend   they’re   not   there.   we   embrace   them   and   learn   to   love   them.   ”

“Yeah, I can feel it. I’m so lucky to have you.” Jim laughed at his partner before pulling them in for a hug. “Uh huh, yeah, sure, you’d never lie. Whatever helps you sleep at night.” He let Wally go to pick up his skateboard. “Thank you for humoring me and humbling me. It can’t be an easy task. We could get a new toaster and I’ll try very hard not to turn it into atoms again.”

🌱 ⠀  ⠀ ⠀  ⠀ ───────────       “   and   i’m   lucky   to   have   you,   solarflare.   ”      wally   smiled   and   let   jim   pull   them   into   a   hug.   they   wrapped   their   arms   around   their   boyfriend’s   neck,   leaning   up   on   their   toes   to   kiss   him.      “   you   know   i   sleep   very   well,   thank   you.   and   ..   maybe   i   lie   sometimes   but   only   when   needed.   ”      they   told   him   while   they   bopped   the   tip   of   jim’s   nose.      “   it’s   not   but   you   make   it   fun.   i   would   love   another   toaster.   one   that   you   don’t   turn   into   atoms.   that   would   be   so   great,   babe.   ”

it was really adorable when they blushed. typical wally. in the many years that they had known wally, they had not changed in any way. it made his face light up with a wide grin, and the rage and frustration in his heart dissipated. they shrugged their shoulders as they considered showing them the message their agent had sent. not the best behavior for someone who was being compensated by the racer. kinda hurtful really for the many years they had worked together. 

-not nice words.- faint smile slowly peaking behind a frown -no one appreciates my hard work. non importa- they didn’t want the day to be ruined for their friend by renting on and on.

alberto  grinned.  ❝  wait  !  that’s  a  great  one.  i  didn’t  think  of  that  !!  ❞    there  were  so  many  different  options  it  was  hard  for  him  to  pick  just  one  !   ❝  okay …  really  hard  question  now.  ❞   he  paused  for  the  dramatic  effect.  ❝  what’s  the  best  dessert  ?  ❞

🌱 ⠀  ⠀ ⠀  ⠀ ───────────   “   right   !   ah,   it’s   soooo   good.   there’s   so   many   flavors   it’s   easy   to   forget   !   ”      wally   beamed   with   a   laugh.      “   oh,   no.   okay   i’m   ready.   ”      they   nodded,   putting   on   their   best   serious   face.   alberto   was   right   it   was   a   hard   question.   how   was   wally   to   narrow   it   down   to   the   best   ?      “   ooooo,   okay,   let   me   think.   ”      their   eyes   closed   for   a   moment   as   they   searched   their   brain   for   the   best   possible   answer.      “   lemon   cupcakes.   lemon   desserts   are   underrated   and   i   won’t   stand   for   it   any   longer.   ”      they   smiled.      “   and   yours   ?   ”  

❝  we’re  the  same  in  that,  ❞  alberto  noted  with  a  grin.  he  always  loved  finding  people  that  just  get  him.  he  pulled  his  brows  together  as  if  their  question  was  the  most  serious  and  important  thing  he  could  have  been  asked  (  because  it  was !  )  ❝  that’s  a  good  question  !  i  want  to  say  chocolate   even  if  that’s   a  basic  answer.   it’s  just  reliable  and  never  lets  you  down,  you  know  ?  what  about  you  ?  ❞

🌱 ⠀  ⠀ ⠀  ⠀ ───────────   “   are   we   now   ?   consider   yourself   rising   high   in   my   favorite   ranks   now.   ”      wally   teased   with   a   fond   smile.      “   never   let   anyone   shame   you   for   liking   chocolate.   it’s   not   basic   it’s   a   classic.   exactly   !   reliable   and   tasty.   you   can’t   go   wrong   with   chocolate.   ”      wally’s   lips   pursed   in   thought   as   they   tried   to   narrow   down   their   favorite.      “   i   think   if   i   had   to   pick   one   as   my   favorite   it   would   be   cookies   and   cream.   it’s   also   a   classic   and   kind   of   like   two   treats   in   one.   ”

🌱 ⠀  ⠀ ⠀  ⠀ ───────────   “   prepare   to   call   me   your   favorite   person   in   the   world,   pen.   ”      as   if   wally   didn’t   already   hold   that   title   but   they   liked   to   keep   it   thank   you   very   much.   they   were   doing   their   best   to   contain   their   excitement.   wally   kept   up   the   illusion   of   suspense   long   enough   before   they   burst.      “   guess   who   has   floor   seats   and   backstage   passes   to   the   4*town   concert   this   weekend.   ”      wally   didn’t   give   penny   time   to   respond   before   they   were   flashing   the   two   tickets   before   their   best   friend.      “   these   couple   of   besties   !   ”   

alberto’s  eyes  went  wide  at  the  mention  of  ice  cream  as  if  it  was  the  best  suggestion  in  the  world  (  because  it  was !!  )  ❝  yes !!  yes  absolutely.  let’s  get  some  ice  cream !  i  like  the  way  you  think.  ❞ 

🌱 ⠀  ⠀ ⠀  ⠀ ───────────   wally   laughed   to   themselves.   the   moment   alberto’s   eyes   lit   up   wally’s   heart   began   to   swell.   it   was   the   same   sparkle   that   they   saw   in   josh’s   eyes   when   they   suggested   ice   cream.      “   food   is   what   drives   me.   what   can   i   say   ?   ”   they   teased.      “   what’s   your   favorite   flavor   ?   ”

“I do love the support, babe, really.” Jim smiled at the kiss and almost forgot that he’d embarrassed himself a minute ago. Wally’s affection always served to brighten up any bad day he might be having. He was just that smitten. “But you’re lying and you know it, babe. I have ideas but they’re not always great. This is why we don’t have a toaster.” Jim like to save time on things but he’d accidentally cost them quite a few appliances because of that. 

🌱 ⠀  ⠀ ⠀  ⠀ ───────────   “   you   know   that’s   what   i’m   always   here   for.   moral   support   and   all   that.   ”      their   eyes   turned   into   little   happy   half   moons   as   they   looked   up   at   jim.   damn,   they   loved   him   so   much.   it   was   a   little   ridiculous.      “   me   ?   lie   to   you   ?   never   !   ”      they   feigned   offense   with   their   hand   pressed   against   their   chest.      “   some   of   them   are   great   but   we   can’t   always   have   great   ideas.   i   have   to   humble   you   somehow.   yeah   ...   i’d   love   a   new   toaster.   really   i   would.   i’d   stop   spending   so   much   money   on   toasted   bagels   if   i   had   one.   ”
