ATTENTION, CAMARADES!
About Wilhelmina " Mina" Murray:
Let me be rightly understood: this character is actually my favourite female character in foreign literature ( English is not my mother tongue, as you may recall)). However, I don't care much for old man Stocker - both as a writer and a person- so my take on this heroine is based not only on the book, but in many aspects on musicals and, for a lesser extent, films.
While I have been in the Dracula fandom ( so to speak, as in 1994 there was no such term as " fandom" yet XD) for quite a while, and the theological plot line has never been less important for me than the romantic one, at the present stage of my life I don't actually ship Mina with anyone. At all. Period.
There, I said it))
She is much better off on her own ( Okay, not friendless, for sure) than being a wife.
Personally I always saw her as continuing to pursue the teaching career, maybe even becoming a headmistress, and eventually founding her own school.
Or maybe she could go into science, as in LXG. Whatever.
Just no Harker, for goodness sake.
She'd be wasted in that " relationship", just like Hermione Granger in that blasted epilogue of HP. (Yes, I don't care for Ron /Hermione either, and this is the same stuff)
Folks, I tried to " pair" her off with the other characters during my life course, but now that I am 45, I say just leave her be!
Yes, all that trope with Vlad D. and his redemption arc is equally VERY important for me, but come on, the guy isn't exactly alive. He hasn't been alive since 1476, and for Lord's sake, let him find peace and atonement
( On this point, I insist either)
