honestly???? bruce banner is one of the only real bitches in the club. he NEVER made fun of thor’s weight, when thor asked him not to say thanos’ name, he switched immediately to “that guy”. he doesn’t patronize thor, and he talks to him like his opinion matters bc it does. he initiates contact w thor multiple times, and uses touch to create an additional layer of connection between them. and u know what? he thought thor was fucking hot when he got a haircut, and he STILL thinks thor is fucking hot as shit, even w weight gain, pajama outfit, and unkept hair. he was patient w thor & if thor really wanted, bruce would have left new asgard without resorting to manipulation or force, but he pushed just enough to let thor knew he cared. I stan!!!!!!

Summary: Cars seem to show up at key moments in Tony Stark's life. So does Rhodey Rhodes. (Tony/Rhodey)

This fic is absolutely beautiful and heart wrenching in one. It deals with addiction, grief and mourning, some very bad decisions—but Rhodey is there (off and on and off and on again) through it all.

A New-York Cop by dimircharmer

Summary (shortened): Newly minted detective Brett Mahoney is noticing some fairly disquieting things about Matt Murdock. Namely, he's legally bound to one of his old friends, heavily in debt, and sporting different poorly-concealed injuries every other time Brett sees him. (Matt/Foggy implied, outsider’s POV).

Another fic with beautiful writing and characterization. I only wish the end scene were longer. Love the dynamics of friendship, concern, and as cheesy as it sounds, doing the right thing (even when it [might] go against decades of friendship.)

Summary: 5 times Michelle Jones met Peter Parker at MIT (and 1 time she met Spider-Man)

I’m not usually a huge fan of coffee shop AU’s bc they tend to take the characters and leave the plots/worldbuilding—but Peter is still Spider-Man and he still has citizens to save. A great read!

Blips on the Record by ambivalentangst

Summary: Flash, let it be known, doesn’t like Peter. He’s too good at everything—infuriatingly so—and nobody ever calls him on his bullshit, like with AcaDec nationals. Flash has to put his all into everything he does for a fraction of the attention Peter gets for his bare minimum, and it pisses him off, to say the least, so sue him for looking for chances here and there to knock him down a peg. However, when he notices, he shuts his entire operation down. Maybe Peter has a decade on his age when he was in the thick of it, but Flash remembers what it was like. He gets having school be a safe place, and nobody, not even himself, is going to jeopardize that for Peter.

I already mentioned this fic in a different rec post, but this time I included the longer summary. Flash Thompson redemption (my fav!) and great characterization/character study. Plus a tiny bit of irondad from an outsider’s perspective.

Uncharted Territory by ChloeNyme

Summary: Peter had a secret. No, not that one. A different one. One that felt…worse. Or, MJ tries to navigate a relationship with Peter Parker.

Trigger warnings: Mentions of childhood sexual assault (not explicit); explicit consensual sexual content between teenagers.

I was hesitant to add this fic, if I’m being honest. It’s a tough read, but in the end it feels absolutely worth it. I don’t usually like to read explicit sexual content, and much less that of teenage characters, but somehow this fic manages to feel more like learning and adapting than it does dirty (which is to say, I did not feel slimy reading it). That being said, I have not read the next in the series. Read with caution, but if you do, enjoy.

Justice League out here thinking Batman is so cool and some double 0 7 shit but hates their asses...Nah man Bruce is that kid who got paired with a of people group who are very social by the teacher and he thinks if he finishes the project for them he can go home early.

Now I kind of want a Batman who’s like 16-18 years old and an awkward anti-social teenager, but the rest of the JLA doesn’t realize because he’s V tall and wearing a mask and all his brooding, and being snippy and sarcastic with them is just teenage moodiness not because he’s the creature of the night

Hal: Look he's mocking us he thinks we're kids and treating us like some...

Bruce is able to drop seemingly random tidbits of information, not because he's a human search engine, but because he just finished a presentation on the blood buffering system for his AP Bio class. This is all just fresh in his head, and somehow necessary at the perfect time.

Bruce being so adamant about no one touching his notes not because he's picky and doesn't want anyone to know what he's doing but that's his Homework fam don't ruin it. You're lucky he even brought it on the case to help.

Makes this all better if Bruce never claimed to be their age he just thought it was obvious

It's great because it doesn't even need to be 'somehow relevant'; Bruce is a rich kid and thus goes to a rich kid school where they do projects and reports instead of tests and exams and also they get to pick the subject. Bruce just takes cases and then makes up a way for it to be relevant to the curriculum so that he can solve crimes in class.

Bruce: For my essay I choose to do the psychological and physical damage of kryptonite through a time period of 10 seconds,1 minute, and 5 minutes on-

Kid in the back of the class: Yo Mrs. G He can't do Kryptonite I was gonna do something about Superman????

Bruce: It's not about "Superman" it's about Kryptonite and it's effect on Kryptons.There's a difference.

17 year old Bruce showing up to his fancy ass school with mask acne and poorly hidden bruises, trying to explain to his teacher why he needs more time in the library to read about the speed an object must travel to create its own sound barrier and why, hypothetically, that would be a bad idea to attempt

okay okay. but like/ flash forward a few years. Bruce is finally an Adult. YES! No one knows. 

and then he gets A KID

This only further cements the JL into believing this is a whole ass man.

And in reality it’s just Bruce taking online college classes and wrangling an impossibly energetic acrobat all before he’s twenty two. If he’s not recognized on sight, bars still ask for his ID because of his Baby Face
