So guys, here we are. First chapter is here! It’s basically my own take on how the story goes after Taboo season 1 ends, so there’s a bit that’s canon and a bit that’s my enterpretation, as you will notice. I’ll likely do a cast of characters post as well, as a visual accompanyment for the story. But for now, here is it!

It was the same dream, night after night.
It haunted him. She haunted him.
The white-haired woman in the water, who came to him as he drowned, pulling him to the surface.
For years he’d been plagued by the same nightmares, flashbacks, whatever one wished to refer to them as. His mother in the river, him in the river. It was only when his dear Brace had filled in the gaps that he knew the truth, that it was a memory which replayed in his head, of his mother attempting to drown him as a babe.
Let me start by saying I have no knowledge of any of this Delaney character's backstory but I love what I'm learning. And add Delilah's mystery and the details we just learned, I'm incredibly interested in seeing where this is going! I know I've been absent for a while but I'm hooked on this story! 💜💜

She shone like moonbeams through the very dark of him, her light contagious, engulfing his depths. He could be better with her. He would be better for her.
“Everything.” The word rolled from his tongue like a wave lapping against the shore, he the water, she the sand and stones beneath, steady and still to all within him that surged.
She swallowed hard, her lips reaching his, kissing him softly. That gentle press hit him with all the force of a tornado, awakening him from his trance-like state, his vision of events yet to come to pass shattered, the fire before him roaring.
Everything he had felt right there before her, felt within her, within him, was uncomfortable for him to endure, because he never had, not with any woman. Not even with Zilpha. A connection of untold and unmatched energy, her presence the soothing he had sought from much but found from little. There it was again, a feeling like a thousand needles prickling at his flesh, all for her.
Beneath that gentle hum she evoked, bled into him like a wound dripping into water, there was something truly cataclysmic, something that once they scratched the surface of, would be beyond either of their control. Wild storms could not be contained once unleashed.
“Delilah.” He whispered into the night, closing his eyes and seeing her right there in his mind.
So… you like, or nah?

I’m so sorry I’ve kept you all waiting and waiting for weeks on this update! I’m about halway through ch. 28 too, but goodness knows when I’ll have it ready. I’m currently preparing to move premises at work, and that’s so damn stressful. UGH! I am dedicated to seeing this through to the end, though. I love these two too much not to complete their story!

Cait’s suggestion was probably the wisest, Fran nodding as she rooted in her bag for her phone as they pulled into the Starbucks drive-thru, ready to pay for their order. They were picking up lunch and coffees all round (except for Tyler, who vehemently stated that the chain coffee outlet was rubbish and surlily refused to drink it) on their way to visit, he-who-hated-Starbucks just recovering from a second operation on his shoulder.
Seriously this conversation takes so much courage from both Zoey and Ella. I'm getting secondhand nerves for them both! I've missed seeing this family and am stoked to read more about them!
Good luck with your move. My mom always made us kids help when she moved at work and there is always more stuff to move than you realize! 🙈
