April is…         the Month of Mairon!

   All through April 2016, we will be examining the life of this most Admirable Maia, from his beginning before the World came into being, through his final fall at the end of the 3rd Age of Middle-earth, and beyond.

   We invite you to join us, contributing art, fanfiction, poetry, headcanons, prompts, cosplay, music, or any other medium you choose.  Or simply follow along, enjoying the creations others make in celebration of our Dark Lord.

Now that Angbang March Madness is nearing it’s end, please consider joining us for next month’s event as well.

It’s overall Mairon-themed, but Angbang will definitely be involved!

Today’s theme is The Void. What was the Void like? We talk a lot about what the separation was like for Mairon, but how about for Melkor? Do you think Mairon eventually joined him in the Void, or do you think they remained separated? Basically, any Void headcanons you have.

Basically there are two possibilities - If by the void it means the Timeless Void then technically it contains no space, no time, nothing, for it is beyond the created world (although, in the beginning Melkor did ‘venture’ into it to search for the Flame Imperishable which sounds like there is space in the void… But well. For me without space makes more sense). When Melkor is thrusted into the void, in a way his existence becomes of the void and there is nothing to be suffered (no time to let him experience). The void simply separate Melkor from the world he marred, and maybe the moment he enters it, the history of Arda from the past to the future spread like a sheet in front of him. And then, it’s time for dagor dagorath.

It’s technically what the void should be like but thats pretty boring - I really love the idea of Melkor becoming insane as time goes by to a point where when Mairon somehow meets him in the void he can no longer recognize him blah blah. There are some fanfics that deals with it already and those are all pretty fun (aka angsty… /facepalm). Oh this one is my fav piece on that xD

Another possibility is that the valar throws him into the void aka the Outer Space, as I think is mentioned in HoME X. If that’s the case… Melkor gets to roam the universe, which is cool? (go mess up some alien civilizations. though JRRT doesn’t seem to have mentioned aliens at all. I can’t stop thinking of it) And Mairon… might be able to search for him, sooner or later. Men might even encounter him in the far future when they are able to make space travels  (btw a space opera type of sci-fi AU about this would be very much appreciated!!)

My art teacher would wash my teeth with arsenic for this coloring, but I like it.

A little bit of Angbang :3

Today’s theme is The Void. What was the Void like? We talk a lot about what the separation was like for Mairon, but how about for Melkor? Do you think Mairon eventually joined him in the Void, or do you think they remained separated? Basically, any Void headcanons you have.

The Void is a big, but dark space. So, pretty much terrifying. You can go wherever you want, but you can’t see where you are going or whether there’s anything beside you there. You might run into something/someone, or not. But your imagination will go wild. I think I’d go insane if I were to be in a place like that. It might be less scary for Melkor, but it’s still terrifying for him too. He can’t see or hear or touch anything. And that stretches on for millennia. He’ll grow to believe he’s blind and deaf. He might be able to hear his own voice, but talking to himself and not being able to see will definitely render him insane. He will try to remember all the things in his life over and over again, to kill this emptiness, to kill the time, but his memories will gradually become distorted and untrue. He will experience hallucinations too. So, basically, it’s hell for him in the Void. I don’t know how he will turn out in Dagor Dagorath. :(
