BDS added this section to their boycott page and I think people really need to read it:

please remember, pushing unorganized boycotts without carefully fact-checking every company in the list can be actively HARMFUL to the boycott movement.

hope you don't mind me adding: here's a list from the website about which companies to target our boycotts at right now:

To note, the list given is the bare minimum.

The original quote is actually from this page, and explains the different tactics as well as grassroot campaigns (BDS did not start them but supports them and allows for their use so long as there are no reasonable alternatives).

All this trivializing language feels so insidiously deliberate. The ICJ going “We give you one month to show compliance” is essentially them insinuating that the famine in Palestine isn’t so bad that it can’t wait another month for aid to come in. Mainstream media going “This Hamas-Israel war needs to stop” implies that there are two sides to this genocide, when in reality it’s just the IOF versus displaced, starved Palestinians. The ICJ not calling for a permanent ceasefire implies Israel has a right to resume its genocidal acts at some point in the future, that it was never wrong to enact a genocide to begin with. Nothing on an international scale has truly given this the weight it deserves. It all feels so misleading.

the way the war in gaza has been constantly about targeting flour, targeting hospitals, targeting universities, targeting water containers, targeting anything that brings life in order to "thin out the population" and "encourage palestinians to move to tent cities in egypt"

and then you have western media readily calling it a "humanitarian crisis" therefore fulfilling israel's goal of manufacturing a humanitarian crisis. this entire war was with the purpose of collectively punishing a civilian population of 50% children. that's why it was immediately understood and labelled as a genocide by multiple genoide scholars, by the lemkin institute, and is currently on trial for genocide at the hague

like the starvation and the blocking of aid and the dropping of parachuted MREs to just barely salvage the reputation of a few politicians is not a byproduct of the war. it's not collateral damage. it is a central pillar of the genocide. acquiescing to israelis blocking aid by building ports and dropping pallets of food means acquiescing to famine as a strategy instead of trying to stop it. famine is not collateral damage, it is a central pillar of genocide. killing children is not collateral damage. it is a central pillar of the genocide. we don't need hindsight to say this plainly, anyone who denies it now is another pillar of genocide.

eSims for Gaza is facing constant eSim shortages.

They get over a thousand requests for connection a day, but their email inbox is regularly sitting at 300-500 eSims. With the bombardment of Rafah and continual internet blackouts, the need for more eSims is particularly urgent.

Even if you have already sent an eSim or donated to an eSim donation drive, there is more you can do. The team is calling for people to campaign in their communities to help spread the word about eSims and encourage donations.

You can help by printing out posters and putting them up in local businesses, on telephone poles and notice boards, or wherever people are likely to see them.

[ID: Poster headed “eSIMs for Gaza” with an illustration of a red poppy, a QR code, and a link to tinyurl.com/gaza-esims; copy reads “Sending eSIMs is an immediate, concrete way to help Gazans on the ground. Scan below to learn how you can get involved.” End ID]

Or make your own poster, pamphlet, or protest sign with one of these QR codes:

the flour massacre is ongoing. it is everyday. it was not an isolated event. it was not even the first time israel shot at and killed palestinians going for aid (they do it whenever they allow aid through). in fact, they did the exact same thing yesterday morning. just because smaller-scale murders go under the radar for lack of shock factor doesn’t mean they’re not happening continuously.

Seeing footage of the aftermath of the flour massacre in Gaza is so painful

"Where is my daughter? Tell her I don't want flour anymore"

"My brother was shot holding a bag of flour. He kept holding on to it so they kept shooting him"

"Why does flour have to be stained with blood?"

Over 100 have been killed. Every single one of them hungry. Every single one of them has someone waiting for them to come back with the bag of flour.

Israel is using starvation as a weapon of war against innocent civilians. Israel ambushes starving Palestinians and shoots them. Israel is not fighting a war to defend itself. This is another episode of Israel's ongoing genocide in Gaza.

The majority of the Palestinian genocide is taking place in Gaza at the moment, but it’s worth mentioning that there are also assaults in the West Bank, which I don’t see highlighted enough. Reportedly Israel has arrested more than 6000 Palestinians in the West Bank, and more than 270 were killed. People are being shuttled from place to place, being separated from their children, thrown into jails with inhumane conditions for long periods of time, and not knowing what they’re exactly charged for or when they’ll see their families next. If you’re a woman, there’s the added treat of being threatened with sexual assault.

Israeli officers confiscate all possessions of those they detain, making it so that the Palestinians jailed are utterly insulated from the world or news. Imagine how nerve-wracking that is for someone who just wants to know that their family is still safe, still alive, still not blown to pieces by an airstrike. It’s grotesque all the lengths Israel goes through to ensure Palestinians never like they’re human, but instead always feel like they’re prey—even when they’re not actively slaughtering them.
