Why, Karlie?

Torlie fic (don’t hate me lol)

So, I have a story to share if anyone wants to read, lemme know how you like this preview? I hope my grammar isn’t so bad since English is not my first language :)

Karlie walked examining every corner of the city as if she was trying to recall one of her favorite violin pieces that she had forgotten. Autumn was about to start and there was a rather cold breeze in the air. But the children playing and the flowers in the square across the street made it feel very much like a summer afternoon.

She had agreed on meeting Derek at 4:30 in a cafe they used to go all the time before she left to study abroad. Karlie checked the time and she was unusually early, so she decided to stop at a drugstore and buy a bar of chocolate that she would share later with her best friend. Minutes later she saw herself leaving the store with a particular bar of chocolate with almonds, the same one she would buy every once in a while till two years ago. She saw it in her hands and thought about the irony that she had actually never tasted a bar like that, yet she had held it dozens of times.The sound of her ringtone became more audible as she managed to reach her phone from her bag. It was Derek telling her he was half block away from the cafe.

“No, I didn’t get lost. I’ll be there in a minute. Love you” Karlie said before hanging up, then she started walking as she tried to throw her phone back into her bag, but she ended up dropping on the floor it because someone crashed her.

“Oh, I’m sorry,” a familiar voice said "I’m running late and I didn’t see where I was going". When Karlie looked up there was a pause between the two women. It was her. Different hair and clothes, but definitely her. The last person Karlie would have expected to see after two long years.

“Karlie, I can’t believe it’s you!” The woman said smiling
