Hard to focus on your good attributes when you’re stuck in the past and there’s none to be found, isn’t it?

Aside from that, some things I see?

The path to family and acceptance is a literal rocky road.
He’s facing away from his past as it stares right at him.
His perceived negative aspects of himself are stuck to him, pulling him away.
He’s drowning in them, and trying in vain to reach the people who can pull him out.
Those people either don’t see him, or don’t care and are deliberately ignoring them.
Those people are also in light, while he is not. He wants to be on the literal light side of this space.
(Edit, just saw the post with them zoomed in. They’re just watching him go down, not making a single move to help. Their faces are black; they’re reflecting his bad aspects right back at him. Whether it’s the insults, or him being reminded of his shortcomings when he sees them.)
(Edit 2 electric boogaloo: It looks like Patton is holding Thomas’s shoulders. Holding him back from the dark side, perhaps?)
