in the terror book, crozier was incredibly unlikable, but he was beloved by the narrative. for some fucking reason. you just understood and trusted that this dude was gonna make it out of there and he was, for some reason, the "hero." but that clearly wouldn't have translated well to a tv adaptation (it barely made sense in the book), so i really love what the writers and actors did in making him actually kind of funny in a shitty dad kind of way, and of course a bit less of a bigot, and also of course by making so many characters want that old man's decrepit pussy so fucking bad they would have—and did, in many cases!—followed him to the ends of the earth.
