RTVS PALESTINE FUNDRAISER 2, April 11th - 13th
Beginning Friday the 11th, RTVS will be holding another 3-day weekend fundraising event for the people of Palestine.
It is a tragedy that Palestine is still enduring the same nightmarish conditions that they were this time last year. There has been little to no improvement in things as Israel continues to break ceasefires and block incoming aid as they try and continue their genocide. We would like to once again rally our community and as many others as we can reach to give what support we are able to to Palestine's people.
Like last year, the event will not be a traditional stream fundraiser, rather than pointing people at one donation point, we will be suggesting a number of different recipients for support. However, this year may be organized slightly differently than the way we did it last time; more information regarding that will be shared in the next few days once we confirm our plan. Overall, it's the same idea: all donations to Palestinians and aid groups will be tallied into our grand total for the event.
The all-day, all-weekend streaming event will once again feature a rotation of hosts from Radio TV Solutions putting on all kinds of events. Themed segments, classic segments, crazy gameshow-type beats, chill segments, gaming w/ Da Whole Crew and MORE await you. The event will be hosted at http://stream.rtvsfundraiser.live/. Mark your calendars, tell your friends, and GET READY!

We've confirmed the way we are going to suggest support recipients is not going to change too much, however there is going to be a completely new list as many things have changed in a year.
So, if you know of any GoFundMe's or similar site campaigns for Palestinians that you trust as legitimate, please send an e-mail to info@rtvsfundraiser.live with links and details, and I will add as many as I can to the event document.
Additionally, if you submitted a GFM last year and have updates regarding the state of the campaigns you submitted, please e-mail us! Many of the campaigns supported last year are still ongoing and we would like to feature them again, but it can be difficult to get additional information on the state of the campaign.
Finally, in addition to campaigns - if you have any resources you think would be helpful for us to share or know of legitimate aid groups to support that we were not aware of, don't hesitate to send them to info@rtvsfundraiser.live!!

king arthur was welsh. merlin was welsh. camelot was in wales. the lady and the lake she pops out of; welsh. excalibur; magic inanimate welsh object. etc.
on the way to see family, i drive past a lake that in which is welsh legend, is the last resting place of excalibur.
i’m just saying in my experience a lot of these legends had been so anglo-fied in the past and it’s like, all this cool shit is celtic welsh legend.

- The version appropriated by the English in the 1100s is the shitty boring sanitised version - they did it because they were trying to compete with the romance tradition on the continent at the time but didn’t have anything of their own to romanticise
- Merlin is called Myrddin
- Percival is Peredur
- Kay is Cei, and also was subject to enormous character assassination in the English version - in the Welsh version he’s much closer to Arthur’s right hand man
- Guinevere is Gwenhwyfar
- There is no Lancelot, no Galahad, no tedious affair story
- There is no Camelot. Arthur’s seat was Caerllion - modern Caerleon, putting him into both the region of the Silures (one of the most fearsome and warlike of the British tribes, modern South East Wales) and the old Roman fortress, which would have been an impossibly huge Palace for a warlord at the time.
- They all have super powers and get up to wacky hijinks involving hair care, giants, strange giant wildlife, spectral revolving/glass fortresses in the Celtic sea, and a really fucking weird chess match. Also a cloak made out of beards.

Anyway it’s particularly irritating because traditional Welsh culture and beliefs have been so thoroughly stripped away and destroyed by England over the centuries, and Arthurian legend is one of the few surviving fragments we have left to preserve. And he’s specifically an anti-English figure. So the ubiquity of the boring and appropriative English Arthur across the whole fucking world is… Well, it’s not great.

i assume you mean Years Later, in the epilogues. but their dynamic: largely waleran would be avoiding kingsbridge when he can. its clear (at least in the book) that he can barely stand to look people in the eye out of fear of being pitied. and knowing philip's lines to william about pitying him- i suppose pitying his reckless evil, how astray he is from the path- i think philip.. well. i think philip pities waleran, and waleran absolutely can't stomach that.
philip is kind to him. out of everyone in the monastery and the village, like. i think he's the only one who's really fully able to forgive him. i mull it over and often come to the conclusion that he is just, deeply truly kind and able to forgive. to a fault, aliena and jack and ellen might argue.
not to say he's completely an angel. in the immediate aftermath of the trial, i know philip must have felt so much pride seeing waleran brought to his knees, but i dont think hes able to indulge in cruelty. in my headcanon, waleran is wholly excommunicated. philip cannot bring himself to bask in the collective schadenfreude when he watches the ceremony. waleran tries to approach parish churches to shelter him but they largely turn him away. he doesn't go to kingsbridge though- he would never allow philip the satisfaction- but i think philip would have waited for him to come and seek shelter in his priory. he wouldn't tell the Church. he would have fed him if he was hungry, nursed him if he was sick- but he would never come. pride.
he still wonders about him, i think.
