something awesome about challengers is that zendaya acts the tennis scenes with such focus and determination and like seriousness about the sport whereas josh o'connor and mike faist are mostly just moaning hard and loud

i will say challengers has significantly elevated my opinion of guadagnino as a filmmaker... i went in with like mixed-positive regard of his work (LOVED suspiria LOVED bones and all could not sit through call me by your name and would call it one of the most boring first halves of a movie i've ever watched) but i was really blown away by just how tight and engaging and like balls to the wall riveting challengers is? wild entertainment from start to finish. and i do think the score is a big part of what elevates it to that level and keeps it moving but it was just all around gripping. to me

saw challengers last night and woke up with a challengers hangover. i'm rotating that movie in my mind i'm bouncing it around like a tennis ball.
