Ever wonder where bees get their wax from? One of a newborn honeybee’s jobs is producing wax. Newbies special glands that excrete liquid wax, in a similar way that humans sweat. Once exposed to air, the wax begins to harden into flakes. Other bees take these wax flakes and mold them into a part of the honeycomb. As the newbies grow older, they lose this ability as their wax glands become inactive.
