I have this idea where Ashley moves to their high school during freshman year and matt walks in on these guys ripping out pages of ashelys notebook and she's so little she can't reach so matt comes up and yells at them and helps her pick it all up and they basically become best friends (they are a Soft Squad™️) and then matt introduces her to the group one lunch time and Chris looks up and accidently whispers 'woah' out loud and from that moment josh tries to set them up (occasionally with sam)

I love this so much. Matt absolutely hates when he sees someone picking on someone smaller than them. He’s been in plenty of fights before, but they’ve always been with people either his size or bigger. So seeing these giant guys teasing this little girl and holding a book above her head upsets him so much that he runs over and scares them off. And Ashley is initially so scared of Matt because her first impression of him is him charging at a group of Fellow Strong People, but then Matt starts to help her pick up the pages and he compliments her on the beanie and ???? he’s actually wicked nice????

Matt is wicked nervous about introducing Ashley to the group for two reasons. One, Ashley is kind of weird and he thinks the group might not like her. And two, the group is insanely weird and he thinks that Ashley is going to be terrified when she meets them. As it turns out, Ashley fits into the group quite nicely.

I have a feeling everyone was pretty quiet after they were picked up by the helicopter, but who was the first to speak? and what was Mike and Emily's (and everyone's) reactions to finding out jess and matt were still alive, and what did they say?

Yeah I definitely agree that they were mostly quiet in the helicopter ride down the mountain.

Chris was the only one to talk, and he asked the guy who helped them into the helicopter if they’ve found Josh yet. The guy said they’re still looking, so Chris doesn’t say anything else because he can make some assumptions. Mike and Sam don’t say anything, half because their ears are ringing too loudly from the explosion and half because they can’t bring themselves to speak.

Emily and Mike found out that Jess and Matt are alive in the middle of their respective interrogations. Mike keeps demanding to see Jessica because he needs to make sure she’s safe and being cared for. Emily doesn’t want to seem ““desperate"“ in front of the interrogators so she’s just like,,, that’s neat.

They’re not allowed to see each other until the hospital (the detectives did play with the idea that Emily/Mike were the ones to attack Jess/Matt, but they eventually figured that wasn’t accurate). Mike runs and stays by Jess’s bedside for a day before he’s released, and Sam Emily really wants to go find Matt (or Jess, if she’s being completely honest). But Emily is too proud, so she stays in her hospital room for a day and a half until Matt finally visits her. Emily cries when she sees him and she hates that she does so. The next night she visits Jess in her hospital room and sleeps next to her for a few hours until she leaves. Jessica hardly even realizes that Emily was there.
