‘Duality’

Hilma af Klint (1862-1944) inspired original flash tattoo

Hilma was interested in the invisible relationship that shape our world which at the turn of 20th century, the discoveries of understanding of matter and space, greatly inspired her work. Her studies of searching for the deeper meaning in nature, botanically, symbols, geometric, and abstract imagery became the elements in her art. She was a pioneer of abstract art.

The colours can be adapted into black and gray shade as well. Please contact me if you’re interested in them. Message or Email venuschariot.ink@gmail.com

‘Lady Godiva’

Original tattoo design inspired from the 11th century legend of Lady Godiva’s ride through Coventry. Though legend remembers her act as a self-sacrifice under oppressive power, Lady Godiva is often represented in artwork as a tantalising figure, where her nudity is a subject of both shame and beguilement. This artwork is my tribute to her as a historical figure and a reclamation of the image of a nude woman as a symbol of strength and dignity.

Would be an honour to tattoo this work. Bookings open for flash and custom tattoos at Vancouver studio. Please message or email: venuschariot.ink@gmail.com for inquiries. Thank you very much.

Hello everyone. I'm very sorry I've been absent for awhile. I hope you're doing well.

I hope you don’t mind I want to post a little diary instead of art work this time. Recently, I visited Chinatown Storytelling Centre in Vancouver. I hope that I can do more to support them as well. If anyone is nearby please check out the exhibition.

I’m very happy I found Anita Mui photo book album that was published from 1987 by chance in the old magazine store hidden in the area.

There were a lot of things happened for the past few months. I‘ve started tattooing as my alternate work to support my personal projects and living besides working on illustrations. Due to a personal situation beyond my control, I will no longer be at my previous studio. Unfortunately, I was made to not feel safe in my previous workplace and experienced microaggressions time after time including harassment and homophobia. It has been one of the most difficult and painful time for me. I decided to move to the another studio which is a wonderful place that is diverse and supportive of LGBTQ and BIPOC. I've also created a new profile that I can be myself and do the style that I've always wanted to do. I will dedicate this account to tattoo work specially Instagram @ venus.chariot.ink I really appreciate your support and understanding. Thank you for being who you are and being here for me. I’ll continue to do my best to draw and share illustration to support our community. I hope you will look forward to them as well. Please take care.

Hello everyone. We were interviewed by RTHK 香港電台 as part of their episode on Game Atlas. We’re grateful for the opportunity to share about our game on their program. It’s an honour for us as RTHK’s past programs on art and culture have been a source of reference for us in the making of our game. Thank you to the producers for the feature!

We also want to thank Goethe-Institut Hongkong for inviting us to Game Atlas. We had a wonderful time at the conference. We’re grateful to the organizers and other game makers who made this event possible.

We had the pleasure of facilitating an Asian and LGBTQ+ employee resource group for Unity this past week. Thank you very much Sharlene Tan and Unity for the invitation. It’s a great honour for us as Asian and LGBTQ+ identifying game creators to lead a talk on a subject core to the creation of our studio and game. During the presentation we discussed the importance of Asian and LGBTQ+ representation in media, our research into the historical background behind A Summer’s End’s setting, including Hong Kong pop culture and Asian LGBQT+ media. A Summer’s End began as a passion project to create a work representative of our cultural heritage and queer identities. We’re grateful to have this opportunity to share our experiences.

We appreciate everyone who took the time out of their busy schedules to attend the talk and we hoped it was an educational experience! Thank you again to Sharlene and Unity for organizing the event.

We're incredibly honoured to be invited to Game Atlas: The Archeology of a World not Far-away.

Curated by Yang Jing (Allison), Game Atlas is co-presented by Goethe-Institut Hong Kong and M+, in collaboration with Current Plans and School of Creative Media, City University of Hong Kong."

We'll be participating in an interactive forum alongside other amazing game developers and artists on day 3 of the event, October 26, 2022 8:00-10:00 PM HKT (UTC+8). Register to attend online. Watch event trailer.
